Thanks Phillip. I'm really glad you enjoyed it. I couldn't believe the size and the volume of the squid there. Amazing place ill be back there soon 100%. Really glad to hear you caught some good ones there aswell !!
Thanks Jared, yeah it was amazing. I couldn't believe how many good size ones we got in only a few drifts. ill have to go back again soon that's for sure.
Mate iam from SA and hugh squid like that are far and few between last few years but good to see there still around certain places great video once again 👍🏼
That's tough to watch - we had an Autumn storm and flood up here and my normal winter reefs are bare - no squid season this year. I love my squiding and was glad to get a fix watching this video. Thank you :-)
Glad you enjoyed it. Yeah the squid were a bit hit and miss this past season. Hopefully you get onto a few soon. That's terrible to hear about the reefs being bare. What area are you from ?
@@fishingmad Just north of Sydney mate. The Hawkesbury had a massive flood and the inner reefs got hammered with fresh. My usual spots are holding plenty of finfish but even my honey hole squid spots which are normally plentiful this time of year have been bare. I'm using lockdown to repaint my boat and will be out in time for the offshore Flattys! My business partner lives down near WP and next trip down I'm going to book a trip squiding to get my fix! Love your channel and look forward to watching more videos. Great work.
What a top day Guy's , love the video what leader and size line, more Q&A than a book , were you fishing over weed and sand or reef at the time, keep up the good work Cheers.
I was using 12 lb leader. anything between 10-15 would have been fine. The area was 3.5 meters deep and quite weedy, didnt appear to be any sharp reef. But very productive. Glad you enjoyed the vid
@Fishingmad Any chance you can provide GPS coordinates of where you were? I know they move around a lot but maybe it'd be somewhere to start. I was out from 5am last Tuesday 6/4 with my mate in his boat, until about 5pm. The haul for the entire day was one small squid and one medium squid.
Loved it. Its an amazing vessel and I'm very jealous. It handles so nicely on the water, so smooth, so functional. I would love to get one myself one day.
@@fishingmad Awesome Allan - Will try to give your channel a mention on our next live this week coming- We have many from the USA - UK that joining our live streams - would be great to have our Australian half of the fishing family in the chat out on our adventures :P Thank you Alan. Luggy James Stanley on Facebook - in the UK :P Add me if you can ..
Hi. Great video. Can you help someone new to boat fishing. My son and i are putting in the effort without much reward. What depth and how far off shore were you?
Nah very different to the way fish fight, squid go on some occasional bursts particularly when they are first hooked. They can be powerful. Often those first few moments is when they fight than they surface and if there big its just there weight which is what you need to control. Very different but a lot of fun, over the years I have become very fond of targeting squid. It really is a fun form of fishing.
Rule #1 Always get your mate to net the squid, that way he cops all the ink :-) Great video as always... Can you tell me what brand those gloves are that you're wearing, please?
LOL 100% i felt so bad, a really good mate took me out. For whatever reason I was getting all the catches ( and he is a really good angler ) poor bugger got inked so many times. Those gloves are the new daiwa ones. They are very very good. so much better then the previous pairs I had used and I had used quite a few different ones. These are really thin, really comfy and have built in grips. If you need a link let me know and ill dig one up for ya.
No problems at all. This is where i bought them from www.ottostackleworld.com.au/Daiwa-UPF-Fishing-Sun-Gloves-Grey-Prism-UV-Protection-50-UPF i will say that i bought the S/M and they are a little bit tight.
Were the ones shown in the vid. yamashita Egi Oh Live in rainbow size 3.5 and Rui 3.5 squid jig in Green with orange lightning strike. sorry i dont know the name of the colour. Both great jigs
Best video Allan monster squid 🐙 unbelievable caught a few big ones myself last year great fun enjoy
Thanks Phillip. I'm really glad you enjoyed it. I couldn't believe the size and the volume of the squid there. Amazing place ill be back there soon 100%. Really glad to hear you caught some good ones there aswell !!

Great fun cheers D.J.
Glad you enjoyed it
Wow, these squids are massive!!! That's breakfast, lunch, and dinner all taken care of for the family. : )
100% James, it was amazing. So good that we had to start letting them go we had so much food and fresh bait. Was just a pleasure to catch them
Nice video Alan! Those squid are ridiculous!
Thanks Brendan, they sure are. Some of the biggest squid I've ever caught. WP is a remarkable place.

Awesome Video Alan!!! Those are some beautiful squid, massive sizes.
Thanks Jared, yeah it was amazing. I couldn't believe how many good size ones we got in only a few drifts. ill have to go back again soon that's for sure.
I’ve never seen or caught squid of that size before. Absolute monsters.
Yeah they seem to be very far and few between in PPB. We got 10 that size in under an hour which was staggering
Far out, I’d be happy to get at least one of that size, that’s awesome!!!
Wait for part 2 things only get better. Different but arguably better with some amazing catches.
Mate iam from SA and hugh squid like that are far and few between last few years but good to see there still around certain places great video once again 👍🏼
Thanks !! Yeah these squid were epic sizes, will be going back soon, hopefully less windy conditions and get some awesome footage

4 meters, cheers
What’s better vanford or TD Sol III LT?
100% the Vanford. I've used both heaps now for 6 months. I use the Vanford all the time out of preference.
Hi Allan , what did you think of the 1850 stabi?
Loved it. Its an amazing vessel and I'm very jealous. It handles so nicely on the water, so smooth, so functional. I would love to get one myself one day.
Awesome squids Allan well done
Thank you Angelo, yeah these big squid were amazing !!
Weird seeing myself on one of your videos mate. But enjoyed it and it was a great start to what would turn out to be a huge day.
Was great to have you feature in the video Darren. We will see a bit more of you in the next one as you caught your fair share in the next stages.
Wish I knew where you guys were camped... They are huge!

hey mate is that green screen at the start of your vid? just wondering>.
It was a separate photo taken during the same session with one of the squid caught.
Wow🤙🤙🤙🎣
Thanks Terry. Yeah it was crazy good there.
Do they fight like fish? Must feel weird to fight them.

Good point, you wont be disappointed with those, they are very comfortable
That's not a squid! That's the Kraken!!
100% I couldn't believe the size and the volume of the squid was epic.
These squids run harder than breams lol
Yeah its amazing feeling when big squid start peeling line of the reel.

Thank you Mikhail, yeah one of these squid alone was a meal for the whole family. Have a great night.
One more QUESTION sorry, your best squid jig for the DAY Guy's.
Were the ones shown in the vid. yamashita Egi Oh Live in rainbow size 3.5 and Rui 3.5 squid jig in Green with orange lightning strike. sorry i dont know the name of the colour. Both great jigs
Not bad my biggest is a 49cm hood that's what a giant is
Wow 49cm is very impressive. Well done. The ones in this sesh were around the low/mid 40s
There's always a bigger squid - Qui-Gon Jinn.
@@fishingmad over 35 cm hood squids are monsters
Very true
Id agree with that. Im always very happy with any squid over 35cm hood.
