What I like about living in Santa Maria is 1. The weather. 2. We live 8 miles from the ocean. 3. We live close to a National Forest. 4. For the most part people are friendly here. What I don't like about living here 1. There are a lot of accidents. Seems like people don't know how to drive here. 2. Not enough things to do here for our youth so many get into gangs drugs and alcohol. 3. The cost of rent is getting outrageous here so we are getting a lot more homeless here and they are given a hard time.
I’m glade I left Santa there’s nothing to do in Santa Maria rent is over the top it’s near impossible to work there and buy a house there o and if your smart to have a degree in something you will be fine ,and you can only go to the beach so many times before it gets old , drugs everywhere, to many baby mommas in every age group so many other reason, im glade I left the 805 sorry for the truth
I'm sure you can find something. We've got a lot of AG in this area, so trucking related jobs are definitely plentiful here. I'm not sure how many are hiring, though.
@@centralcoasthomeswithchris2742 No we live in Fresno. Raised in Guad, moved to SM in 5th grade, graduated from Righetti and never returned after college. Lots of family there so I’m there often and contemplate buying a house there all the time. 😀

I agree. I think the lack of activities for youth and good job industry is a bummer.
I'm lucky to be born and raised in Santa Maria CA
I lived in Santa Maria and the Lompoc area from 1970-1974. My best childhood memories. However I fear it’s not the same place that it used to be.

Different strokes for different folks, as they say :D
I want to move from the IE up to Santa Maria to be closer to family and get a fresh start but I need to find a local trucking job up there first.

Me just watching this because I live there:
Also look for Zorro's Mexican food in the Pismo area. Greatest food in existance
Delicious breakfast!
Are you related to Vicky Thiessen?
I went to school with her at VCA.
Okay this answers my question. Great location😀
Thanks for watching! Do you live here?
