Very well done! I like the sneak peek in the background of the title sequence. The camera movement and interesting tidbits did a great job of keeping the video visually engaging. The comparisons to other similarly sized minis is great as well.
Hey Theo! So glad to see you still going strong amidst everything. I recently lost a close friend and seeing you coming back makes my day and gives me strength :)
You did a great job on this video Theo! I liked the little side notes as you were panning around the model! Something I always meant to ask is if you or Grady write the scripts for your videos, or is it more a collaboration? I just noticed sometimes the style of humor and delivery of the lines can be similar when Grady hosts sometimes so I thought I would ask. The Model itself is very cool! I could see doing a zenithal prime job combined with plague bearer contrast paint from Citadel paints on it's skin ( the paint I used for the moss on the model I gave you and the Orks skin tone for the one I gave Grady for reference). Anyhow, once again you did an amazing job, never doubt yourself bud!
Hey Joseph! Thank you! I (Theo) write the scripts for any video featuring me. If it features Grady, he's written it, with very very rare exceptions. I would love to see some alternate paint jobs for this model! The official one is a little bit basic. If you get a chance to paint this one up, let us know! -T
I loved your editing job! All of the new banners and on-screen wigjits are crisp and clean looking too! I love a good video that gets everything done in under 10 mins as well! Ps- any word on queerfinder for 5e? Surely the city of splendors has a plethora of places our 🌈 family can hang out in!
Thanks so much, Renee! Queerfinder for 5e is on the planning board! Next up is issue 2 for Pathfinder, but rest assured that Queerfinder will make its way to many universes before all is said and done! -T
Great review as always Theo. This is one of those minis that as a DM you have to go out of your way to ensure it’s included. Don’t know how this ended up ahead of the Tarrasque on the release schedule though.
Wonderful edit and the Motion Graphics are looking really slick. I think for the price point this model's paint job is very lackluster. It would be nice if they actually did a variant of the Source book pose and coloration to match some of the brighter stylized palettes of the new Spelljammer art. This guy also seems a little hard to display. Unless you have a very deep display you're kind of forced to show it off in profile view. I realize the source book pose has this creature look like its crawling with gravity being applied to the body, but it would have been nice to model this piece to be more vertical like its inhabiting the astral sea and not crawling around on Terra Firma. That would also help the display issue if it was more vertical, almost like a vertical spiral design.
Hey theo loved the video, big love from hungary❤ Btw did you notice in the trailer for the dnd spelljammer miniatures at the end they showed a kindori miniature on the battlemat did they cancel it? Does wizkids do something like this?
Thank you kindly! I see what you're talking about. Minis do sometimes get cut from product lines between the time they're announced and released. The most famous example being the three-kobolds-in-a-trenchcoat mini from the Frostmaiden set. I guess the kindori mini got cut or replaced in one of the ship scale sets. -T
Man these new minis are just insane. Unfortunately as you mentioned storage becomes a problem as does price for something you won’t use very often. Video was good , looking forward to further changes ….maybe
I’ve left a similar message on several videos I don’t know how often you see the old videos messages. Sorry if this is annoying not my intention. But here we go could you possibly use a whiz kids and reaper bones manager when reviewing new miniatures as a baseline comparison? When a new product comes out rather it is A orc or a goblin maybe a dwarf. It would really be helpful to know how they compare in size and stature to dwarves orcs goblins and what have you. For example I bought some epic encounters box sets. And I had to pay and just hope they’re size were compatible. Also would it be possible for you guys too give reviews for miniatures that come from other companies like last sword miniatures or Davale games miniatures? They are great miniatures and I’d be willing to bet if you reached out to them that send you stuff for free. They’re both based out of Spain. I’ve gotten a few of their things in a match up quite well with whiz kids. Davale has a bloody elves line that’s just incredible. Also I saw a video I believe of Grady showing a ship that he had miniatures from Conan the barbarian minis from monolith games. Would love to see you review some of them . Long time fan. Keep up the good work thank you
not a fan of the very limited colour palette on the astral dreadnought. i feel like it's claws and back scales at least should have been something different, the whole mini is very monotone
@@TheGallantGoblin Or, and hear me out, this might blow your mind a little, you could just put it at the end... Same work for you, less annoying for us. (Not everyone is just sitting at their computer, when trying to multi-task/viewing from mobile devices where things are fiddlier, it's annoying) Not really trying to be coarse, but at least on other channels I watch, it's common etiquette to advertise at the end.
We have had advertisements at the end for most of our existence. The thing is, people tend to stop the video early and not watch the ads. For us to be able to get sponsorships, we need to show that folks will watch the ads and hopefully click through to check out the products. This is my full time job, and I need to be able to pay the rent or I won't be able to continue with the channel. We're constantly experimenting with ways to find a balance. We refuse to employ non-skippable UA-cam ads or UA-cam ads that interrupt the video. The tradeoff is that we need to have our own ads earlier so hopefully folks will see them. I do my best to make them entertaining and relevant. I'm sorry if they are a nuisance, but I hope you can see that we're doing our best to make content that respects your time while also being able to stay afloat financially ourselves. -Theo

This is really well done and made me reconsider the dreadnaught if it wasn't so pricey. Great job on the editing I loved it ❤️
Thank youuuu! Spent two days on it! >.< Hopefully I get faster! -Theo

Thanks, Andrew! -T
Great job on the editing, Theo!!
Good editing, good GIANT mini, good video!
Thank you!! -Theo
Got mine yesterday. I love the use of the magnet for the tail.
And I thought I knew the fastest retailers. You may be one of the first in the world to get it.
Ha! I didn’t even notice the magnets! It is indeed held in place by two relatively strong magnets! -Theo

The 5e Tarrasque is so de-fanged that it's not generating the sense of unstoppable awe it once did. Might have something to do with this choice.

We’ve also seen things like the Dragonborn Bard get shunted from one set to another (Fizban’s to Mordenkainen’s)
Indeed, most of the minis make an appearance eventually, especially if folks let Wizkids know that they’re wanted!

An awesome looking mini
A little pricey but aren’t they all
Indeed! -T
For a $300 mini it sure does have paint overspray.
I found it for $200.
👍🏻
How dare you replace Grady!
(you did a good job)
Haha, trust me, it wasn't a job that Grady was fighting to keep! :-D -T

Yeah, I think a lot of the larger minis suffer from this a bit. -Theo
Shame on you for not showing the original image of the astral dreadnought from 1st editions MANUAL OF THE PLANES.
You know, I had it in my mind to show that cover image and I forgot somewhere along the line! 😖
I'd probably hit that with a lilac-colored dry brush to bring out the details.
these need a way better paint job if they are going to charge this much.
Looks easy to make with clay and paint for less then the 950$ they charge
Hyperbolic much?
Holy cow, please keep ads at the end my man, nearly 2.5 mins of promotion before the actual video is absurd.
You can use the segmented timeline below the video to hop to just the part you want to see. :-) -T
