I can see why this particular model is as loud as it is. The intake ports are smaller than the size of the chopper. That makes the air coming in more forced acting like a blower which is what makes the siren louder. With intake horns going down to the size of the intake opening, it'll make it even louder
Awesome. I didn't even know that siren even existed until like a month ago lol Oh, and if you don't mind me asking, and you may or may not know me (You probably don't, is my assumption), on my channel, (Even though I'm just slightly interested in sirens), I make siren compilations on my channel, and my subscribers love them And I was been wondering, if I could use your (this) video in my compilation video. And, I will credit you (Like I done before), and I'll also put the original link in the description So, it would be awesome if you let me use this clip. If you don't want me to, than that's fine with me
iPhone X lol. Aaron used his DSLR. Audio is from both Aaron's DSLR and my iPhone. I will be returning to this siren with my Canon EOS 5D mark iv in a month or two.
It's still there as the City of Sierra Madre has no plans to remove it except if it it dies, or if they will reuse (Probably not) the Gamewell Diaphone half a mile from the park.
This one of the most unpleasant sounding siren I've ever heard, due to its pitch and off key minor 3rd interval. It's also one of the loudest sirens I've ever heard. The unpleasant sound is actually really good at getting people's attention, and to add to that this siren has been heard over 4 miles away, and sounds extremely eerie from a distance. Exactly what you need to alert people. These sirens came in several different sizes, and lots of port combinations, the lowest I've seen was 8 port, and the highest I've seen was 20 port.
That had to be my favorite sounding siren! The audio quality is tremendous! Great video by both you, and Aaron!
Thanks!
You cannot beat a good old mechanical siren.
Interminable Rooms: A-300 origin?
Even without headphones this thing rapes my ears. Must have been an experience to hear this in person

Kinda like the klaxon GP12, also the vanes in the chopper are very nicely designed that also helps to project the sound
someone needs to start manufacturing this again, but with horns like a xt22 so it's even louder than it already is
Those would be some skinny horns lol
Beautiful video Edaan!
Thank you!
thanks for helping me find my earbuds!
@edaan Friedman can you tell me where this is
It’s at Sierra Madre dog park inside a small water treatment facility
This is one of the most horrific sounds lol. It sounds like the gates of hell are opening
Also by far the most painful siren on the ears I have ever experienced by far.
Woah! This thing is heavy! What an sound! Nice Video!
Thank you!
Is there a location for this? I know it’s in Sierra madre, but is there a street name?
It’s located at Sierra Madre Dog Park inside a water treatment facility there.

I guess the age long mystery is solved, the 408 rotates clockwise.
why does it sound like it's doing hi-lo when it's not?
It's the way the audio pulsates.
Wow that is a lot of ports
This is what i call a 'messed up carter' very good sound quality tho :D
My ears are now bleeding, someone call an ambulance!
Fire Alarms & sirens haha funny i laughed
Beautiful catch!

What port ratio is this? 16/15 possibly?
It's 14/16 port.
Oh that’s super unique
Santa Clarita, CA?
Sierra madre
Is this still here or is it in private possession?
And I'm sorry if i spelled "possession" wrong.
Yeah it's still there To this day
It's still there as the City of Sierra Madre has no plans to remove it except if it it dies, or if they will reuse (Probably not) the Gamewell Diaphone half a mile from the park.
