One company to watch out for is Panther II ( Owner Operator company). They pay good but once you sign on they will not pay you for 6 weeks. Even though the advertise they pay weekly. Then when you get your first check they deduct everything out of that check. Took them 6 weeks to pay me and after 6 weeks work and fuel, tolls, insurance and such my check was for $25.
Ltl is where you need to be for that $1200+ a week bring home. I gross $2250 a week and bring home between $1400-1500 a week driving line haul for Dayton freight. Right now line haul pays 74 cents a mile
Usually around 55 for a median. We’re on a 60 hour clock but most other ltl companies run a 70 hour clock. Also home every night as well. I’m not sure where you live but Estes has a lot of terminals in every state and I believe they are topped out at 76 cents a mile right now
@stevo6891 not necessarily. Our company actually has a driver trainer program if you don’t have a cdl already but if you already have a cdl and don’t have any or much experience they do take that as well most of the time. Our raises this year put us at $32.75 hourly for city deliveries with overtime after 40 hours and out new line haul rate is .77 cents a mile

I have been driving since 1989, so a long time. Now, I own my own company and truck hauling manufactured homes and modular office buildings. I charge 6.50 to 7 dollars a mile. In a good month, I can make 40 to 45k to the truck. In a slow month, 20 to 25k. There is absolutely no way I would be gone in my truck for a week and make 1,000 to 1,500 a week. It's absolutely ridiculous pay for the hours that an otr driver gets.
If your truck has cab heater, doesn’t it also have a/c through the apu as well so you don’t have run the truck for a/c. As far as your pay goes, making $1200 or more a week is not hard to do. Get you experience at Knight and then move on to a better paying company. They are out there, you don’t have to accept low pay for a long stretch of time. Treat yourself better with a better company
Hey Chris, love the content you are making and showing what a hard driven person like you, can accomplish. I work with RTS financial and we offer fuel, factoring and load board. Let me know if you need anything!
$1,200 per check is not unrealistic. I'm a manager for another major trucking company. And our regional drivers make a minimum $1,650 per week. Keep on shooting higher and higher my man.
@@ussssaaabixchh Often times you have to get 6 months - 2 years under your belt before you can get those real nice paychecks. We have a 2-year minimum unless we REALLY need drivers. Until then, $1,400 or so per week may be common. Don't be too loyal to any one company. There's always somebody else out there paying more. Look for companies that have start-up accounts as they're the most likely to have pay that reflects modern times. And it should go without saying... But OTR and regional will always pay more than somebody who wants to be home every night. So try to be flexible.

When I drove for PST Vans my Driver Manager loved to see me come on the yard because he knew I'd take a short run just to get off of the yard and out of the area. One I got to the yard and they were having trouble getting drivers to take a from Austell to Greensboro, NC. I took it and the load after was to Salt Lake City, UT. The guys sitting on the yard were waiting around for 500 plus mile loads. My DM asked me one day why I don't complain about taking loads like that and I told him you have to get moving somehow and short runs add up. Take a short run or two once in awhile and dispatchers will be very appreciative. I'm now medically retired but at every company I drove for I earned a reputation for being on time and willing to take so-called short runs.
_Find a company that pays by the day, those companies hire you after one year of trucking with no accidents and you do regional miles. Some of these companies pay up to $450 a day._ _With $2700 for six days but that’s only if you want to work six days, most of the drivers here only work 4 to 5 days by Paul loads for seven days, but I plan on upgrading my drivers license with doubles and triples as well as hazmat with all of those endorsements. My paycheck would be a minimum $4200 a week._ _Nevertheless, many companies that pay by the day specifically the one that I’m working with sometimes I would do less than 800 miles a week and still get a sweet paycheck_
Once you get about 6 months... You'll be able to go find local or regional jobs that's gonna pay 1200 or better each week and usually you're home daily

you're gonna make it, Dude.

I admire your hustle young brother! I wish there were more like you. Keep up the good work! 👍
I appreciate that!
Good Job Bro...keep going..U got it💯
You have a great Job! I been thinking about Knight myself. Thanks for all your great videos 🙂👍
I always knew i wanted to do something either outside or hands on. Even when i was in high school and had a plan laid out by my guidance counselor and my parents, i knew it was more or less their plan. After 1 day of college, i dropped out, went to ups, and even tho i got fired, i now have enough to join a cdl class and hit the road with all the other blue collar workers who decided that sitting in college for 2-8 years for a job that is basically the same thing all over the country isnt for them. Chase the bag bro, and ima see u on the road soon
Keep the good attitude. Let all the safe miles come to ya 💸
That's what's up. How many hours typically?
My pops is an OTR driver I’m thinking bout getting my CDL as well . I’m tired of 9-5 dead end I get to travel while working and getting paid it’s a Win Win 🤷🏽♀️
Especially if don’t have many responsibilities at the house
I have been doing trade work and thought about switching to Truck Driving I rather be on the road driving. I am tired of selling jobs as a service person. It seems like trucking is a peaceful job. Dude I don't even know you and I am proud of you keep it up I will be showing this to my nephew. Stay positive and keep it up as long as you getting money.
Definitely and i hope you find your peace
Knight has a great family atmosphere. They let you go home when you want too. Get your experience and move on. I'm sure most folks getting into trucking don't make close to what your making. I found a local job making about the same.
Touch freight? Food service?
hows it been working for knight i spoke to a recruiter it seems like a really good place to work
I'm 58 and I tried to join knight but they denied me and I really wanted to get down with knight because of watching your videos , I thought they was a good company, but I guess they don't want older drivers...I have my A license just needed a Refresher and was ready to join the team....good luck bro...
You ain’t missing anything much trust me , the start with them is always pretty
What did they tell you ? I was in class with someone who was 60 something .
Its not the age, they just have tuff verification process I know someone who was 24 who got denied
They said they didn't need me , I don't know why I told them I had six months experience 20 years ago...but I Have a A license..and just need retraining..but they denied me.
@@ZULU25LF I wouldn’t give up try swift and prime it’s a process but it has a good payoff plus your still young enough to get 10 years out of driving or more if you wanted to
Keep doing ur thing young man. U are doing a great job. Keep Truckin
One of the best Trucking videos I've ever seen! Truly running the Gauntlet! Big Ups!!
Congratulations young man!!! Keep up the hard work, and your money will grow:)
I did my first year at West Express and average baby 750 to 800 clear the week. Just moved on to a smaller OTR company and my first two weeks 7200 MI and the paycheck was 4500 for the two weeks
Hopefully you can get those miles forever
@@chrisdementlife I doubt I will, but looks like 3000 miles a week may be possible here, if so I'll be very stoked.

Get your experience up and run lease for 1 year figure out the business and get your own truck with your name on the title and your looking at 6k a weekly then 10k a week for 40 weeks a year net 150k a year after expense... you own the truck and trailer you can pay your kids to wash the truck up to 12 k from 7 to 14 put that in a Ira and avoid tax on the 12k PLUS 7 YEARS 84k you can pull out at age 18 and leave the interest in and your kid has 84 k taxless for education and still keep the interest compounding for retirement.

Of course not you have over 20+ years experience and own equipment , why would you
Stop lying. U don’t make that much money
How much would it cost to transport a double wide to a piece of land? Lets say under 50 miles away.
How can u compare specialized freight to general dry van? We are all impressed with your earnings. We really are...
So if u own your own truck then u make the big bucks?
Never give up brother ❤🎉
If your truck has cab heater, doesn’t it also have a/c through the apu as well so you don’t have run the truck for a/c. As far as your pay goes, making $1200 or more a week is not hard to do. Get you experience at Knight and then move on to a better paying company. They are out there, you don’t have to accept low pay for a long stretch of time. Treat yourself better with a better company
Definitely and if so for a/c part i need learn more
Anything above a 0 is a plus bruh, keep doing your thing.
Hey Chris, love the content you are making and showing what a hard driven person like you, can accomplish. I work with RTS financial and we offer fuel, factoring and load board. Let me know if you need anything!
Thank you for that I will keep in mind
Thank you bro I be wacthing you videos they help me out I’m on my first week of training god bless you bro
$1,200 per check is not unrealistic. I'm a manager for another major trucking company. And our regional drivers make a minimum $1,650 per week. Keep on shooting higher and higher my man.
you have any advice for getting in it’s plenty of discouraging videos regarding pay

I'm gonna give you a thumbs up just because I like your attitude. 👍
I hope you keep it up, and if you plan on staying a truck driver get your own truck (the best priced reliable truck under 700k miles)...2500miles and $1200 is not enough for the work you put in.
Thank you thank you noted
@@chrisdementlifeever looked into kllm ? Start at .60 cpm. And depending on your account, you’ll make decent money. Better than knight at least I think
@@deesplash7087 lol 😂 yeap made video about a while by takes about 3-4 months to even get trainer
@@chrisdementlife oh shii, I’m not surprised. They have way too many students being pumped out their academies each week damn near
Yeah man you’re doing it! For a rookie to break top ten is awesome. Keep up the good work
When I drove for PST Vans my Driver Manager loved to see me come on the yard because he knew I'd take a short run just to get off of the yard and out of the area.
Damn those checks sounds good especially compared to what I'm making now at this job nothing I'm getting into trucking!
Well hey man if you wanna come join team let me know i can get you

Your crazy if you don't. After couple years experience Walmart is paying 115k
_Find a company that pays by the day, those companies hire you after one year of trucking with no accidents and you do regional miles. Some of these companies pay up to $450 a day._
_With $2700 for six days but that’s only if you want to work six days, most of the drivers here only work 4 to 5 days by Paul loads for seven days, but I plan on upgrading my drivers license with doubles and triples as well as hazmat with all of those endorsements. My paycheck would be a minimum $4200 a week._
_Nevertheless, many companies that pay by the day specifically the one that I’m working with sometimes I would do less than 800 miles a week and still get a sweet paycheck_
Once you get about 6 months... You'll be able to go find local or regional jobs that's gonna pay 1200 or better each week and usually you're home daily
😮💨 point me to their direction
