It is interesting seeing that pump on an older tank. I just got done watching the series where you put it on a nice fiberglass tank and getting all the fittings set up beautifully. :-D
Cody, Get a strainer and an inner tube, and you can draft off of a pond with the intake hose when you empty the tank. You could refill the tank that way also.
Cody I love these kind of vids.I hope mrs Wranglerstar was happy because now she does not have to water the flowers for the next few weeks, they are soaked.
That looked like a lot of fun and quite the learning experience for Jack. Looking forward to your garden with the Mrs. video. As always, thanks for sharing.
I enjoy watching your videos. I am somewhat new to your channel but a video or so back you mentioned Charles Ingles, very well said sir. Keep up the great work! I would love a day on your homestead.
I've been enjoying your videos since discovering your channel and have picked up a few life lessons along the way. You speak about the quality of life, doing a job to the best of your abilities, and care of your surrounds and your tools and it also shows in the subtle choices you make. Benchmade, Surefire, Snap-on, Marathon SAR - quality items that get the job done and last a lifetime.
Glad you can enlist your truck for forestry work help if need be. Good Idea. Like that you have all the modular stuff and that you have versatility good ideas
I found your channel just a few weeks ago and have been enjoying it tremendously. Thank you for what you are doing. You have inspired many ideas and look forward to watching many more videos.
Love these firefighting videos, you've probably seen them but craftsman makes a great fire hose style twist nozzle for a garden hose , it has great spray and pressure for a standard garden hose. As always thanks for these great vids and keep them coming!
Always remember on the nozzle Cody: Right to fight Left for life. That's the one thing our captain always told us so it would stick in our heads and be muscle memory once we get our hands on a nozzle. Stay safe out there
You could plumb up a water mister system to have available to tap on the garden outlet. not permanent mount but optional to use as vehicle protection. Have seen a few structure fire-typed engines implementing them into their designs. love this setup btw!! Wish I lived in rural area where I could get into this.
That's how I had mine set up. One thing different is, I had a iron plate that drop over 5th wheel ball in bed of pickup, to keep take from sliding out of pickup bed.
This is something I am considering. Our neighbor just lost his shop due to fire. It took the fire department 30 minutes to get there and then they had problems with their truck and could only run one line. It was pretty much gone by then. With living so far out it would be a good idea to invest in a solution like that. Maybe it could buy time for the fire department to arrive.
I still love these firefighting videos! It looks like you are having a lot of fun together with your son. You are a lucky man, Cody! Best regards from Norway!
Garden Hose. I'm fed up with cheap 100th hose and jubilee clips that cut the hose. this is awesome Cody. how and where would anybody get their hands on these fittings? keep up the good work. brilliant best you tube channel.
Fire is one scary thing. Had a neighbors garage go up a few years ago it was an older garage with wooden clapboards with vinyl over them. It was slightly windy that day it was amazing how hot that fire got. It was so aggressive that it burnt out before the fire department was able to put water on it. The roof down and pretty much smothered it.
You don't want the tip to touch when plasma cutting. a valve spring or something over the end to hold it just above your work will make the tips last much longer.
Have you thought of mounting a sprinkler to the top of the cab with a magnet for keeping the area around the truck wet if no one can watch it? Why not mount a return pipe to the tank from the pump so when you have the valves are closed water still flows thru the pump. Most pumps hate when there is no flow. How effective would a sprayer bar on the front or back of the truck be for a grass fire?
I think if it were mine, I'd weld some angle iron to the tank so it can be bolted to those runners. Same for the runners to the truck bed/frame. That's a lot of weight to leave essentially unsecured in a truck bed. YMMV.
Maybe drill a couple if drainage holes in your carry all, plastic bucket there, and be a bit happier. Just because you're working with water there. A thought, if used, cool. If not, that's ok too. Just putting it out there.
Hopefully you don't need to use any of that equipment but if you do good luck and here is hoping everything goes well and hey maybe you will have a little fun too.
What is the GPM of the Honda pump? How many gallons is the tank, and how long does it take to run it dry? When training guys to run the engines, I found that to extremely helpful. On comment on the tank. We had an old Ford 750 with a steel tank. Problem we ran into over time was rust deposits in the tank. Not sure what size debris the Honda's impeller will pass. My point is that the poly tanks or the resign tanks mentioned earlier could be a worthwhile investment. Love all of you efforts. Keep up the good work.
I would make a lid for parts tote hit a bump and you leaveing a trail of fitting behind You also You might able to answer this question ... does the rapid water additive hurt veggie plants ?
I love your videos! Im hopefully gonna get the marbles camp axe soon... Looks like they are out of stock for now... :( Can you do more review videos i really enjoy them! :) have a good night
Very cool video! Question about the pump.. would the load time ever be a problem when trying to fight a fire ASAP? Is this your first line of defense in terms of using water? It didn't seem like it took too long to mount, but what if the fork lift had an issue? It seems like you could also mount that on a trailer and just leave it ready to be hitched at any point.
The load time is about 5 min. If the forklift goes down I can use my chain hoist and back under the tank with my truck. I don't like trailers because of limited mobility. If fire is eminent, I will have the tank pre-loaded.
5 mins...awesome! That is comparable to me calling the fire department. Great work! On a hot summer day this could be loads of fun for the whole family, assuming u have the water to spare!
I love watching your Fire Fighting Videos. Once fighting the ANIMAL Gets into your blood It is very hard to stop from heading out the door when the pager tones for your Department go off. I would love to build a Fire pump unit for my truck. How many meals have you had to let get cold when the pager going off. How does Mrs Wranglerstar feel about having you responding to calls Just you are ready to sit down to a nice meal she spent a lot of time preparing Only to have the Pager go off. I have been doing A volunteer Fire Fighter for the 30 Years And There is still the Adrenaline Rush when the pager goes off.
So I was wondering why you did all of that work to shorten the pallet rack skids instead of just moving the tank back on the skids? Would the skids not fit underneath the tool box?
That is an amazing setup, you thought this thing through properly. Was wondering tho, could you reverse the pump to use it to fill the tank from, say a lake when it runs out?
That way of watering the garden sure would save Mrs. Wranglerstar a lot of time! And a fun way to cool down on a hot day!
Some have sown, others have watered, and now...even as a vapor. May all of your joys be magnified as you redeem the time. The garden is beautiful.
Good video, demonstrating the versatility of a home built wildland fire suppression system. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks, Cody. Fun to watch you and Jack having a good time while practicing (you) and learning (Jack.)
Cody,
Get a strainer and an inner tube, and you can draft off of a pond with the intake hose when you empty the tank. You could refill the tank that way also.
The manly method of gardening. Kudos to you, Cody!
Cody I love these kind of vids.I hope mrs Wranglerstar was happy because now she does not have to water the flowers for the next few weeks, they are soaked.

*_All_* that work...just to make Momma happy! Way to go, Cody!!
I enjoy watching your videos. I am somewhat new to your channel but a video or so back you mentioned Charles Ingles, very well said sir. Keep up the great work! I would love a day on your homestead.
that is the way to water a garden!! Nice job on that fire skid!!
Also the idea of a pickup truck as a fire interceptor is a really good idea. It's more nimble

Thanks Cody....great video and explanation of the equipment.....thumbs up.....
That looks fun! Great video! Thanks!

I thought for sure Jack was going to give you a shower. It just looked like so much fun.
That Jack of yours will be one handy young fellow! Good on Ya
Blessings David
Love the Fire/forestry vids Cody! As a fellow volunteer I really enjoy anything having to do with slaying the dragon. : )
Always remember on the nozzle Cody: Right to fight Left for life. That's the one thing our captain always told us so it would stick in our heads and be muscle memory once we get our hands on a nozzle. Stay safe out there

10:35 that is one SWEET van!!
Another great video !! Thanks
You could throw some helper springs on the rear leafs on the truck to help with the load.
Wonderful video thumb's up 🌳🌲🌺🌸🌷🍀
Remember to teach Jack, men never cross streams! LOL Great vid & Jack is the true star!
nice setup

I think a fun project for you and jack would be making a tree house! because you aren't a kid unless you had a treehouse!
I still love these firefighting videos! It looks like you are having a lot of fun together with your son. You are a lucky man, Cody!
Best regards from Norway!
Thank you Croyfer,
Love the new Header
Garden Hose. I'm fed up with cheap 100th hose and jubilee clips that cut the hose. this is awesome Cody. how and where would anybody get their hands on these fittings? keep up the good work. brilliant best you tube channel.
Fun to see a comment I made on the Wildland Firefighter Challenge video as one of your titles. Great stuff!
I found a honda water pump in the barn, not run in over ten years. 2 pulls on the crank and it ran no problem. I was completely shocked.
Always love watching your videos :)
good video, I really like these kinds of insights, they make me smarter!
Fire is one scary thing. Had a neighbors garage go up a few years ago it was an older garage with wooden clapboards with vinyl over them. Nice looking setup you got for your pickup
Good video. It works with out all the psi gauges.
Another great vid, you are certainly ready for fire season.
I hope your right,
You don't want the tip to touch when plasma cutting. a valve spring or something over the end to hold it just above your work will make the tips last much longer.
I cracked up at the beginning. I have that same pump. It's a workhorse that's for sure.
Just noticed, you had the same Minneapolis-Moline tractor and front loader as YT blogger MN Millennial Farmer's father..
I love the humor. Great laugh. ;-)
You two boys are having too much fun! :D
Have you thought of mounting a sprinkler to the top of the cab with a magnet for keeping the area around the truck wet if no one can watch it?

We learned on the WAJAX Mark 3. Great pump, but they don't seem to be made any more.
3:01 baby dozers so cute
Well done!
(Memories!~)
Cody have you thought about a foam inductor? A 1% enductor could greatly increase your useable water capacity.
Great update on the pump and skid, thanks. olllllllllo
As a former firefighter I love this!
What did this guy do B4 he was a home-steader? He has got some crazy amount of money tied up in some really great tools!!
In case of rain, you might want to drill some holes in the tool tray.If that's already done I must have missed it.
Who needs a Super Soaker when you have that setup.
Great Video !!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing.
your home made fire truck looks like fun
ESAB and Speedglas. Nice to see Sweden represented!
I do this with my 300 gallon slip on . I run a few sprinklers on low rpm .lasts about 45 mins
Maybe drill a couple if drainage holes in your carry all, plastic bucket there, and be a bit happier. Just because you're working with water there. A thought, if used, cool. If not, that's ok too. Just putting it out there.
Nice job!..I see a custom flat bed in the future for your truck.
Yes wouldn't that be nice,
Hopefully you don't need to use any of that equipment but if you do good luck and here is hoping everything goes well and hey maybe you will have a little fun too.

I LOVE YOU MAN!!! Awesome!!
What a great way to water the garden
Awesome. AXE HANDLE PROFILES PLEASE in printable format. Thank you.

Remember to never cross the steams!! (Ghostbuster referance)
Man..... You rock!
Jack is getting tall!
You should see the bumdasses at my work wiping around fork lefts
I like the new cover on your channel page verry nice.
Thank you,

GREAT VIDEO
love those wooden work stands, people with thumbs down need to move on
Hi Wranglerstar... good vidios. Was wondering how the new swam of bees went in the top bar hive? Was their a queen in the swarm?
great idea.. i like it Sir.
Now ,if you added some old protein foam solution mix those plants would go wild.
I love watching your Fire Fighting Videos. Once fighting the ANIMAL Gets into your blood It is very hard to stop from heading out the door when the pager tones for your Department go off. I would love to build a Fire pump unit for my truck.

Love it!!!!

All I could think about was "don't let the streams cross". Glad you weren't blown to kingdom come.
That is an amazing setup, you thought this thing through properly.
Was wondering tho, could you reverse the pump to use it to fill the tank from, say a lake when it runs out?
Cool video!! We think alike.
that was gallons of fun!
lmao love it....thats the way to water!! keep the vids commin
Ik it's a small project but try welding uphill next time you get more penetration
Its cool
Can u install some emergency red and white lights on your truck
As a POV
cool tires they will work way better for the bog of despond (-:
Use a BRASS NOZZLE, the plastic ones always break.
Well worth the investment.
Nice setup! How long does a tank like that last? It looks like it'd run dry pretty quick, especially with two hoses going.
congrats on 600 vids!
600? I didn't realize. I'll have to do something special today,
wranglerstar something special!?!?!?!? :-) :-) :-) :-)
Cool video! I've really been enjoying the wildland FF videos. How long will that pump run on a tank of gas?
How do you pay for all these awesome toys!?!??
Great vid. Thx
