My little Honda has 350whp and weighs 2900 with me in it. Pretty fast. I had to look up the f150 because I see these trucks all the time, stock looking, and they are nearly as quick as me. They seem about as fast as Charger RTs which is so wild for a f150. What a time we live in.

I have a 2016 2.7L ecoboost, I did pretty much the same as you. Flow master cat-back exhaust and a K&N intake. Unfortunately I didn’t get to see how much I made stock, but I’m gonna be taking it to get dyno tuned soon! When I did my exhaust too I did a pull and that first Initial launch was very surprising so I can’t wait for a tune!!
We need an exhaust on our Ecoboost next, the owner is looking into buying a corsa exhaust it’ll definitely sound great. Let us know what numbers you make after the dyno tune because the 3.5L can make some serious power when tuned! Good luck
The spark #'s are probably ignition advance measured in degrees. Like the old school method of advancing the distributor. If that's the case, that number is important because it allows you to watch for detonation/pre-ignition. The computer will see "knock" and pull ignition timing to cool the combustion chamber down. At least I hope the tune doesn't disable the very important safety feature. If I'm right, and you see that # drop, it because you've got bad gas/low octane/etc and the computer is trying to cut power to save the engine.
Was at the drag races recently was taken by surprise. A short box 4x4 f150 was consistently doing 11.7's in the quarter!!! The exhaust sounded like a high pitched scream!

Last question is exhaust. I want to do a full cat back with matte black tips that come out before the tire not behind it. I also want it to sound good not cheesy. Thanks guys

Ford could do a better job on the Tune for sure I have a 2011 Ecoboost and with some Tune really woke up the truck. Plan on finding someone who can tune it better than what I have done.
Not from us nah. These trans are rated high and can withstand a beating. But we actually don’t abuse ours anyways. The tune is only on for summer/fall and even then we don’t drive rough. I don’t think our trans will go out anytime soon!
Charles henson it’s a very reputable brand and yes you’re not wrong about having similar options as other companies. But we got a solid deal on them with the fogs. So we took advantage of it
Hate to say it but I feel like he’s pushing it real hard with that tune. Those are some pretty high numbers for stock. If ford thought it would be reliable with that type of power I feel like they would’ve given us at least a little more. I’d definitely stay up on maintenance the best you can pushing that hard. She’s a bad bitch though!
Oh I agree ya it’s pushing serious power now on all stock parts. Definitely not the best idea but as long as you stay up to date on maintenance and if you upgrade the supporting mods we should be fine for now. But Ik she’s a monster! Make sure to subscribe to stay tuned for more
I need some advice on what to buy and will it actually make a difference. My tuner shop wants me to get the down pipe, some 700.00 Rauschenberg intake, an inter cooler and then they will tune it. They talk about torque a lot not HP. I understand HP not torque so much but I want to gain speed over the 80 mph where my 3.5 seems to slow down a lot. I do not drive the truck in the summer hardly at all. Do I need all this stuff for 5K really ? Thank you
If you want the most power out of it I’d recommended getting the downpipe intake and intercooler. But for the intake I wouldn’t spend 700 on it lol Ik there’s a bunch that are great for half the price, we got the aFe intake for around $400. The downpipe is essential because that’s where the power is gonna coming from. The less restriction with the downpipe the more power they can push. The intercooler is hit or miss, we don’t have one but ive heard of you have a front mount intercooler you can push some serious numbers!
Ratchet Wrenches I’m running an E50 tune (from 5 Star with an N Gauge) on my ‘18 Platinum 3.5L and ho,y hell! The difference between it and the 93 Perf tune is like going from stock to the 93 Perf tune! Crazy fast!!
Chris E yeah man it’s a new age with turbos hahah, the 3.5 is the same engine in the raptor and that moves so just imagine! Def try to test drive a 3.5
@Hunter Ubele plus theres no way your getting 600 with just a tune the little turbos can only go from 12lbs to 18lbs max unless you upgrade turbos so I'm calling bullshit
This was years ago but I believe it was 3 dyno runs with the tuning for $600 and then taxes but I can’t imagine the pricing being the same as it would be now
Any rear wheel hop/traction bars installed? With pro comp add a leafs and rear sway bar I can't keep her from hoping. Let me know when you get there and what works!?? Thanks
Honestly i haven’t asked the owner in a while but if I remember correctly he said it did go up but not by much. Also it really depends on which drive mode you drive in and how you drive but casual driving and highway driving he did say it went up
Honestly we’ve just heard great things about them from the company that sponsors us (SPDPerformance) so we didn’t even bother looking elsewhere tbh. But how’s that running? What’s the numbers
Fellas don’t know if I’ve missed it or not but have Yal dabbled into suspension upgrades? Looking at icon, fox, bilstein, radflo. Curious about your opinions
The only thing we did to the suspension recently was install a front leveling kit on the truck but everything else is stock. The owner of the truck might lower it eventually or upgrade to a newer truck we aren’t sure.
@@RatchetWrenches 😳😳do all that moding to get a different truck! No way haha. Your videos on all your mods have help me tremendously. Appreciate it so much.
Chris Rutter trucks running great it’s a daily driver. During the winter we tuned it back to stock which was nice. Like you can just program it to stock within 5 minutes. But now that it’s warm out again we put the tune back on and she runs great. No issues yet and daily driving it with the tune for about 15k miles so far
Ratchet Wrenches Awesome! I have the same cold air intake and tune on my truck. It’s ridiculous. My problem is I drive in sport mode ALL the time. I really want to find out the 0-60 and 1/4 mile. Hopefully taking to track once this virus thing is done
Chris Rutter yeah man it’s truly a beast! But exactly we couldn’t wait to go to the track. This virus backed it up for sure but hopefully when this ends we can go😬
Nytron we’re working with the tuning company. Sending data logs back at fourth to perfect it. So within a couple weeks we’ll have a video live. Now that it’s spring time almost we’ll have the tune out back on but tuned for something else 🤔😬
Yeah man I’m sure there’s faster than ours. We have the e50 tune in the works tho it’s going to be pushing some serious power I can’t wait. These trucks are so fun
Yeah it’s just not sold by us unfortunately we have to drive quite a Ways for e85 but once we perfect the e50 tune we’re gonna make a trip to get a bunch of e85! It’ll be a monster
Curious... I have a 2018 F-150 3.5L... I am looking on doing a tune close to this, eventually... I hate that the stock ECU cuts the fuel at ~110 MPH. What's the new top speed in this w/ the limiter removed?
GhostyG89 definitely do it! And yeah that limiter was a joke. So annoying. But honestly the tuning company didn’t set a limiter. So it’ll go until the truck can’t take anymore. We don’t ever plan on taking it past like 150 or anything crazy like that so I can’t tell you what point the truck will tap out at
@@RatchetWrenches 150MPH is more than sufficient for a truck. Haha. Thanks for the quick response guys. I like the truck, Ill have to upload a few pics of mine, once it's done.
No it’s a tune, this tubing company has been around for a while. They’ve been tuning Ecoboosts for years now. The tune is specific to the mods. It’s just like any other car that’s tuned. Our gti is tuned stage 2 and been running fine. Now if we were to change the tune to make it push more power it could possibly blow the engine. They know the limits of the engine stock
Thanks! And hmm I’m not too sure we had some sponsors help us out with costs. So our cost would be different than the average persons. But we were about $2500 maybe more I can’t really remember
Hey, just came across your video. I saw that you posted a year ago. My question is how's reliability at this power? At one point in the video the trans temp was a little on the hot side. So just wondering, I'm in the market for a truck and trying to see what's the best for performance and reliability, thanks and great video. 👍
It’s pretty reliable, we actually have a upgraded thermostat that does help keep the temps down now. So far the truck hasn’t had any issues. We also don’t really get on it unless needed so it remains reliable. Thanks for watching!
@@bennybraaps7325 It depends on what warranty he’s referring to. They can see that the ecu was flashed when they hook up the scanner. But if we’re talking driveline issues it won’t void the driveline warranty. They won’t hook up a scanner for the majority of driveline issues. If we’re talking something with the engine it can void the warranty if the dealer catches it. Depends on how good the tech is that’s diagnosing the issue. So no we’re not wrong. I’ve work in dealers for a few years as a tech and trust me Ik how it works.
I actually purchased an 6 year 100,000 mile power train warranty just for the 5 Star Tune, from Stage3MotorSports. It covers supporting bolt-on’s-CAI,FMIC,Downpipes,Turbo Inlet Pipes. Won’t cover Meth Injection or upgraded turbos anything Extreme.. Yet I only have 19,091 miles on my 2019 F-150. But it’s nice to know that I will have that reinsurance if things where to hit the fan…
Hey we actually didn’t change. They are oiled, I’m not sure if we said it somewhere in one of our videos stating they were dry but if that is the case we made a mistake. We have the oiled aFe filters. Our apologies for the confusion

Hunter Craig we’ve had it for over a year and nothing has happened at all! We don’t abuse the truck which I think is key. We take the tune off for the winter etc. as long as you maintain it and don’t abuse it you’ll be fine!

Did I read somewhere the trans was replaced at 17,000 miles?
Not from us nah. These trans are rated high and can withstand a beating. But we actually don’t abuse ours anyways. The tune is only on for summer/fall and even then we don’t drive rough. I don’t think our trans will go out anytime soon!
My 18 f-150 3.5 has 130k and I’m starting to get the itch. I just don’t know if it’s worth it now with that many miles
I’m lazy sorry. Did you get a tune from an actual shop or just buy a programmed tuner ?
We got it dyno tuned by 5star tuning in South Carolina
What headlights n tail lights you running? Links plz. Thx, nice ride!
Hey the headlights are morimoto and the tails are actually stock. Here’s the link for the headlights amzn.to/2KuV3NP
Over priced gold digger addition.
So many just as good options available for a fraction of the price of these things.
Charles henson it’s a very reputable brand and yes you’re not wrong about having similar options as other companies. But we got a solid deal on them with the fogs. So we took advantage of it
So you got a set of tunes from 5 star... then the tuner at the dyno modified the 5 star tunes or created their own?
Yeah essentially. They gave us base tunes to get the car drivable and then at 5star the tuner himself adjusted it and tweaked it for more power
If you dont mind me asking was it a catless or catted downpipes from spd thanks! Amazing truck
It’s the high flow catted downpipes!
Ratchet Wrenches forsure thanks!
What a Fucking mean ass truck!
Hahah thanks!
Ratchet Wrenches have you thought about tuning it to E50 tune.
I’m waiting on 5Star to send me my E50 tune for my 2019 3.5
Yeah we actually have been going back n fourth with 5star for the data logs with the e50 tune! So hopefully we’ll have the final map soon!
Can you do e50 without fuel system upgrades?
@@AKA_Clunker yes. Just make sure you have the tune right.
Intercooler would be very beneficial
For sure it would be! The owner never pursued making more power / pushing the truck so he never upgraded it
How's it running today? Longevity?
Still runs like a champ! Aslong as you don’t continuously beat on it, it should be smooth sailing! No issues or anything since this post
Bring it down to Atco, I'd love to run it in my 2016 3.5 Ecoboost. We are putting down similar numbers
Yeah we’re going to be making a trip there soon!
Hit me up @salty_sandusky on Instagram. let me know man I live right by the track. Love to meet you guys there on night and run the trucks.
Make sure to subscribe to stay tuned for more
Fantastic 👍👍😁🏆
Thank you!
what kind of lights do you have in the front that the parking lights blink like that?
Mark Cooper we have morimoto LED headlights that have all kind to configurations
I run the e50 tune it’s 93 mix with e85 it feels like Nitrous
Mike Rice yeah we were actually looking about making the switch the the e50. It puts some serious numbers up on the dyno. But dude I bet!
Ratchet Wrenches I’m running an E50 tune (from 5 Star with an N Gauge) on my ‘18 Platinum 3.5L and ho,y hell! The difference between it and the 93 Perf tune is like going from stock to the 93 Perf tune! Crazy fast!!
Nice we got a 18 2.7 running on 78% ethanol tuned by bcb and it is retarded for a truck
That's awesome,I just drove a 2.7 ecoboost and I'm actually impressed never thought I would be,can't imag8ne the 3.5 tuned up
Chris E yeah man it’s a new age with turbos hahah, the 3.5 is the same engine in the raptor and that moves so just imagine! Def try to test drive a 3.5
Ratchet Wrenches the raptor has bigger turbos and lower compression
Once I get my turbos up graded I'll be pushing 550 at the wheels that's the max the motor can handle
@Hunter Ubele I doubt that these motors can only handle 550 max wheel horsepower then the motor goes kaboom unless he builds it
@Hunter Ubele plus theres no way your getting 600 with just a tune the little turbos can only go from 12lbs to 18lbs max unless you upgrade turbos so I'm calling bullshit
@@stinkysanchez31 maybe for your gen 1. The gen 2's are making over 600 with e85 tune only
E50 tune only is about 550 to the wheels and 650 to the crank. On a gen 2.
Which gaz are you using for your 468 whp tune?
93 octane if we wanted to go more power we’d have to do a mix of e50
I was also thinking of going to hotter Coils and just a hotter Ignition all the way around what do you all think
Would i be able to tune my 2017 Ford Expedition 3.5 eco boost
I believe it’s the same exact platform so yes
How much was it for the tune at five star?
This was years ago but I believe it was 3 dyno runs with the tuning for $600 and then taxes but I can’t imagine the pricing being the same as it would be now
Any rear wheel hop/traction bars installed? With pro comp add a leafs and rear sway bar I can't keep her from hoping. Let me know when you get there and what works!?? Thanks
watch out with the launches, TFL with 5 star broke some U-Joints with only the 2.7 eco
Yeah we really try not to launch as much but we had to for the video. But much appreciated I’ll make sure to keep an eye on it
My understanding is they broke a driveshaft launching with a trailer behind it
Smarter Than You Correct! With wheel hop on the launch and they kept pushing it anyway. Almost asked for it.
You must not know who Boosted F150 is. Took over a year of Dragstrip launches at over 800 wheel to finally break it the transfer case...
@@1994F150L Yes I watched the video.
A stock one with a tune will do 11.99 and a sub 4 0-60. Interested to see your results.
Stay tuned then we’re going to the track soon
With this tune did you see any improvement in mpg?
Honestly i haven’t asked the owner in a while but if I remember correctly he said it did go up but not by much. Also it really depends on which drive mode you drive in and how you drive but casual driving and highway driving he did say it went up
What made yall choose 5 star over any of the others? I'm currently tuned by unleashed, just always looking for something better.
Honestly we’ve just heard great things about them from the company that sponsors us (SPDPerformance) so we didn’t even bother looking elsewhere tbh. But how’s that running? What’s the numbers
You’re quite a ways behind others on power, but keep adding to it, it gets way faster. :)
For simple bolt ons and a dyno tune the truck is very impressive but yes there is much more to be done
I know right but It’s up to the owner obviously. If it were my truck I’d keep it! We’re glad we can help out 👍🏼
How’s the truck running with the tune? Any mechanical issues with pushing that much power? Curious how reliable it is. Thanks
This virus backed it up for sure but hopefully when this ends we can go😬
I love the 3.5 but I’m going to go with the 5.0 then boost it
Yeah man the ecoboost engine is neat and that’ll be awesome. Nothing better than that 5.0 engine! Are you going with a turbo setup? Or supercharged?
Fastest? You sure about that? I ran 11.90 at 116 mph in my 17 3.5 EcoBoost. Video is on my channel...
We’ll beat that and I’ll post it up when we go to the track. Not trynna sound cocky or anything but we have a big thing coming for this truck
@@RatchetWrenches hope it's a turbo swap and fuel system as that's already coming for me
@@RatchetWrenches Any updates?
Nytron we’re working with the tuning company. Sending data logs back at fourth to perfect it. So within a couple weeks we’ll have a video live. Now that it’s spring time almost we’ll have the tune out back on but tuned for something else 🤔😬
Having some issues with my blow off valve. I have a 2018 3.5 and sounds like a “water sprinkler” under the hood. Any ideas?
The ticking noise is normal I spoke with our buddy who owns the F150
Good to know, my truck have the same sprinkler noise, and I was thinking something was wrong. TBH I am relieved to know it's normal. Thx.
Buddys did 522whp 660wtq on 100octane and tune
Yeah man I’m sure there’s faster than ours. We have the e50 tune in the works tho it’s going to be pushing some serious power I can’t wait. These trucks are so fun
@@RatchetWrenches for sure! I was amazed to say the least. 4wd burnouts then kick it in 2wd after launch. Wicked for a truck
Now imagine it on e85!
Where can I go to get my truck done I live in colorado
Gonna have to find local tuners or performance shops by you via google
@@RatchetWrenches thank you
soooo this engine is gunna blow up eventually right?
No it’s a tune, this tubing company has been around for a while. They’ve been tuning Ecoboosts for years now. The tune is specific to the mods. It’s just like any other car that’s tuned. Our gti is tuned stage 2 and been running fine. Now if we were to change the tune to make it push more power it could possibly blow the engine. They know the limits of the engine stock
Looks awesome, how much total to built this out
Thanks! And hmm I’m not too sure we had some sponsors help us out with costs. So our cost would be different than the average persons. But we were about $2500 maybe more I can’t really remember
How much was the tune ??
For 4 pulls and the 93 map and e50 map it was $500
Time for a new cat back to get some sound. I think the 3.5s sound good for a v6 with a nice exhaust.
JIMBO SLICE I agree we have the downpipe we’re gonna order the cat back soon not sure which one tho
No they don't. They sound like shit. We took off our catback after one day...
@@1994F150L agreed. I love my 3.5 but they sound like straight up blown out asshole with exhaust. Stock set up will stay on mine
Did the tune void the warranty?
Good question, we have the capability to turn the tune off and back to stock so no it does not void the warranty.
@@RatchetWrenches wrong
Question the video where you installed the downpipe you have oiled afe filters and this video you have dry filters can you explain why you changed
Hey we actually didn’t change. They are oiled, I’m not sure if we said it somewhere in one of our videos stating they were dry but if that is the case we made a mistake. We have the oiled aFe filters. Our apologies for the confusion
Smells like America!👍
A beautiful smell
Is your truck tune only and no other mods?
No it has other mods. We made a video of the mod list
Oh did i hear atco nice any times put down yet?
We haven’t gone yet but we’re going to be going very soon!
@@RatchetWrenches If you are intrested I have a video on my page of a stock 3.510 speed crew cab at the drag strip
What kind of fuel mileage are you getting at normal driving? BTW nice truck!!
Before tune around 18mpg now about 22mpg
@@RatchetWrenches WOW !! I have a 2013 with a 5 Star tune and I'm only getting around 11 mpg
Is the engine built ?
No it’s stock minus some bolt ons to accommodate the power
@@RatchetWrenches niceee, and has it been reliable ? I have a 2019 2.7 f150 i want to build and ive read its forged from factory and can handle 500WHP.
Yeah so far no complaints, it’s a daily for us too! But yeah that’s what we heard too. you can push 500 comfortably with stock components etc.
@@RatchetWrenches bro, so just downpipes, turbo adapters, tune for that much power .. ? Thats crazy good !! Appreciate the reply, earned a sub and 🔔
I am just afraid that something will happen to my truck if I do this and ford won't warranty it.
Hunter Craig whenever you mod anything there’s always that fear of something breaking so you gotta be careful and yeah ford won’t warranty anything here if something were to break , we voided that’s warranty a long time ago lol 😬
@@RatchetWrenches ok so has anything bad happened with the truck like has the transmission or the engine had problems?
Hunter Craig we’ve had it for over a year and nothing has happened at all! We don’t abuse the truck which I think is key. We take the tune off for the winter etc. as long as you maintain it and don’t abuse it you’ll be fine!
Ok thanks guys
Oh and one more question. What do you mean by maintaining it?
Yo. What part of New Jersey are you from. I’m in South Jersey I do drone videos I would like to chase your truck on a drone video. Let me know I’m out in Alloway
Oh wow that would be awesome! We’re from somerset county nj! Maybe we can set something up in the near future?!

Anxiety Fpv do you have insta?
A little overly dramatic on the body language when launching 🙄
mesping1972 not true at all we purposely had our seatbelt off and to see if we could withstand the torque and tbh you really can’t hold still with the torque so no we didn’t
How's your mpg since the tune?
It remained similar actually (low 20’s) but now the truck is on 33’s NITTO tires so the MPG is a few less (17-19)
