I personally think that Batman asking for Joker's forgiveness is just because he's killing him, breaking his code, hence forth asking for his forgiveness.

Makes sense, none of that weird movie logic where "I'm not going to kill you, but I don't need to save you" somehow isn't killing, unless batman expects that whole thing wouldn't kill him somehow he knows that what he is doing is preventing a dying man from getting healed so he'll stop dying, which is the same as killing him as he would be responsible for his death.
@@Nyghtking If someone does criminal and dangerous shit for power, then gets stuck in a lethal situation despite warnings and attempts to stop them, it's technically not Batman's responsibility to save them.
@@stripedgillette3580 Yes, except in the scene where he says that he's directly in front of the guy about a foot or so away from him and the guy is crippled, it's not a situation where batman has to go somewhere to save a guy, no he's right there with the guy in front of him and makes the decision to let him due, which in this situation would essentially be the same as killing him.
I genuinely just assumed Batman was fucking with the Joker at that point because he knew they were both about to die if I'm honest

I know next to nothing about this comic, but it seems like Batman had the epiphany that Joker, in his warped way, always saw what he and Batman were doing as fun and games.
Like, Joker *continuously* makes it crystal clear that everything is funny to him, but apparently Batman just dismissed it as insane ranting. Instead of addressing the root of Joker’s problem, Batman just beat his face in over and over. Joker, not getting the help he needed, just went on more killing sprees. So now Batman is kicking himself because he figured out the *real* solution at the last minute, just before both of them died.
He tried to get him help and even had it work to a degree before like in white knight but the clowns less a rotten egg and more a poisonous fruit from the deep core there ain’t fixing what ain’t really broken.
Even "insanity" has its own internal logic, even if that logic is incongruent with reality. Psychosis is extremely complex. Hand-waving it as "insane ranting" is just, ironically in its own way, out of touch with the reality of the human psyche.

Yeah there's 2 blood spurts where the ears are. It'd be more effective with his justice league suit with the super long ears.
What's interesting as well as this video is the fact that batman gets a card thrown at his eye, penatrating it just like how batman threw a batarang at jokers eye just like this years ago in the frank Millar Dark Knight Returns, I believe this was a homage to that sort of switching the places this time however.

My interpretation is this joker is constantly telling everybody how life is meaningless. He wants me to feel like fool for futilely fighting for meaning in their life. But the joker is made to look like the biggest fool of all. Because as much as he loves to claim that life is meaningless. He spent the last moment of his life not enjoying the blood that was spill, the fight he had or the chaos he cause. Rather he spent the last minute in misery since he failed to save himself from dying. And that is the fundamental contradiction in nihilism. While claiming that nothing matters and nothing is worth living for. They still cling to life and live every day.

The way I see it, through out this story, Joker had been trying to convince Batman and his allies that he was an immortal who had been around long before Batman. Naturally, Batman wasn’t having any of it, and proposes that Joker simply found the pit by accident is all. When Bruce grabbed Joker and was asking for forgiveness, he was actually taunting Joker.
He's asking for forgiveness because he couldn't stop the joker truly. He wanted to help or at least contain the Joker from the city. He also broke his code of never killing anyone.
He's apologizing because he can't do anything else but comfort himself by apologizing for those reasons.
I think the fight won't last that long if Batman is on full kill intentions against The Joker

Death is only inevitable until it isn't. Humans live roughly 80 years, while some tortoises live for thousands of years. Some Jelly Fish are believed to be a couple thousand years old. Like all things, it's a matter of perspective, and I certainly dislike the ideology of anti-immortality. In a matter of persoective, age doesn't really matter. And immortality would be excellent for space exploration. The number one factor is not everyone can have immortality, but the flip side is immortality just means unable to die of old age, so it's not really a fact, and think about this, it's a 9 month trip, hypothetically, to mars. That's almost a whole year, which is ridiculous, but if we live a thousand years, it's nothing. Just a minor pitstop. And if we wanna go fartyer, we'll need it. Say we wanna go to Titan, try and establish something there. It could be like a 40 year trip, half our lives just to get there, nvm getting back. Such a waste ngl.

My interpretation is that Bruce is fucking with him. Joker made up this lie about being "the pale man", an immortal being. A dying Joker is crawling to the pit but Bruce stops him like "I'm so sorry I didn't believe you were immortal. Since you're the pale man you don't need to worry about dying, right?" and Joker freaks out because he knows that was a lie.

@@qua_xor3348 If I recall, there was a version of the Red Hood in Batman the Brave and the Bold that drew from the original version of the character, as opposed to Jason Todd's incarnation that is more well-known, where it was Joker from an alternate reality that fought crime like Batman and simply wore a red dome on his head to hide his physical disfigurement.

Yeah, Snyder and Capullo… those two are exceptionally good at sucking The Clown Prince of Crime out of Joker. Not an ounce of humour or intellect is left in their version of the character. Joker considers himself an entertainer first and foremost. To the point where he sometimes subtly breaks the third wall and tells jokes when he’s alone because his “audience”, his “fans” see him.
