@@ScotterzModelz You did get the combat look, sun,surf, monsoons and combat is nicely depicted in the model. I have this boat on the shelf and might use yours for the authentic look. Thanks
Thank you, I really appreciate that. I am very fond of the PBR build. The kit came with figures but at the time my figure skills were severely lacking. I have gotten more comfortable completing figures since that build.
I'm just starting this kit and have a quick question as I don't think the instructions are very clear - did you paint this in Olive Green or Olive Drab? The way I'm reading the instructions is use Olive Green if the hull is painted red, Olive Drab if the hull is black.
Thanks for your question! Actually, I used a "NATO Green" (71.093) from Vallejo Model Air over a light grey base primer.. I tried the Olive Drab and the Olive Green and didn't like the look of either one. I thought the NATO green gave it a good contrast to the red hull.
Appreciate the comment. But...... Patrol Boat, Riverine, or PBR, is the United States Navy designation for a small rigid-hulled patrol boat used in the Vietnam War from March 1966 until 1975. Go NAVY!!
I road a Navy PBR for year May 69 to 70 , it sure as hell wasn’t an Army boat although the Army did have a few . Swift Boats were larger and made of aluminum whereas the PBR was smaller ( 31 foot ) and made of fiberglass.
@@ethanpeters483 Me too- I am totally proud of your service. My older brother was a MS 3 during Vietnam, USS Oriskany. I am curious - obviously you were in in charge of the maint and repair of the engines, but what was your GQ station on the boat? Twin 50s perhaps?

Everybody misses this one. The boat, PBR was an Army boat not a Navy boat. The Navy boat was a Swift Boat. NUFF SAID !!!
