- The Carey Special, a stillwater classic. This is a great attractor pattern to strip around weed beds when the trout are eating dragonfly & damselfly nymphs.

Cheers thank you for watching!
Hi Everyone, Brandon here from BTFC, I just wanted to say thank you for watching! I know I am not the greatest fly tyer out there, but we are having an absolute blast making these videos. We can't wait to bring the video camera to the lake and show you these fly patterns in action (stay tuned!) Thank you again for all the support, we appreciate the video likes and a big hello & welcome to all the new subscribers - FISH ON!
As a beginner, thank you for these, they help me a bunch
@@Oldmanflyfishing You're welcome J.A. , it's fun to get into a rhythm and make longer videos. Glad you're liking them
Nice fly.
Great idea of pouring a beer for the intro.
Thank you, it's important to have the essentials, cheers!
😄😃😀 Yeah nobody ever starts a fly tying video with a malted beverage! LMAO. I stopped watching there.
A nice simple tie and ideal for down under in NZ. Will tie up a few for fishing the weed beds of Lakes on the Central Plateau. Thanks, and the kindest thoughts from NZ.
John, thank you so much for watching. I'd love to hear how the fly works out for you in NZ. If you have a moment please share once you catch some fish! Cheers
A tip….You could have used hackle pliers to rib the floss while stretching it a little to correct the slip!
Good call Mike, I will remember that one for next time👍
you are tying with the vise jaws upside down.and you don’t have to snip off the tip of the Pheasant hackle, the tip can be part of the hackle collar.
Hah, are you serious!? I have always used the vice like this! Good tips about the hackle, cheers!
@@brokentippet yep, seriously, but whatever works is good. heck i stated tying flies when i was ten years old on a homemade vise made from a wooden dowel and wing nut.
I spun it around and gave it a try, but it seems foreign to me now lol! That's an awesome idea for a vice, very rustic for sure
@@brokentippet if it works for you stick with it
No I'm going to switch it around and keep it that way, thanks for letting me know! I'll give you a shoutout in the next video -- CHEERS!
How do you fish this, wet or dry? Thank you
This is a wet fly. Great if you're trolling or casting/ retrieving around weed beds. Thank you for watching J.A. appreciate it
How many flies per beer are you?
LOL, I like that kind of measurement. Averaging 9 flies per beer 🍺
Another one who sucks the thread through the bobbin tube! Have been doing that for 50 yrs!
Oh yes! I just learned about that trick a few years ago -- game changer!
it would be nice if you put up an ACTUAL material list👎
No worries Kenneth, all you have to do is ask!
