Thanks for the teaser, I will receive mine on Friday... Can't wait!!!
Woohoo! New guitar day is the best day!
Thanks for the review Perfecto....I own the legacy model and really enjoy it....been waiting for reviews for the new Chapman line thank you! BTW I just purchased a shirt love it! Have a great evening,
Skipp Worden thanks for watching, mang! And thanks for buying a shirt! If you don't mind, pls send me a pic when you get it 🤘🏻🎸🤘🏻
Perfecto De Castro love watching your vids....I will do that! Take care and always rock on! ✌️🤘🏻
Can you create a A B comparison with a ML3 Pro traditional vs a MIM telecaster please?
Great video and the grain is sick on both models :)
Graham Rodgers thanks, yup they're purdy!
Perfecto De Castro Hopefully be picking up one of the new line soon enough :)
Graham Rodgers sweet! Let me know how you like it
Perfecto De Castro Will do buddy i have an M1-1 pro traditional arriving tomorrow can't wait :)
Hey Perf! Great video! Not sure if you'll see this but which neck among the two do you prefer?
musicstudent they both feel good but if I had to choose I dig the Legacy, but maybe because I’ve been playing it longer
Damn. They both sound great.
The standard may be a slight bit spankier. Might that be your upgraded pickups?
I just ordered a traditional ML-1 (pending delivery) and considering ordering an ML-3.
I'm not hearing or seeing significant differences in sound or feel between the pro series and standards that would justify a double price tag.
I think I'm convinced I need the trad pro.
Came for the guitar. Stayed to learn the beginning riff.
Hi Perfecto! I'm from the Philippines and I'm a huge fan of yours. I love your videos. I just ordered a 2017 ML3 Modern Standard from Guitar Pusher and sabi nila expected arrival ng stocks is the end of july. I can't wait!! 😁 Have you tried the ml3 modern standards yet?
Brikz Obal thanks for watching! let me know how you like the standard
Is the differance Iam hearing referred to as "mids" the new models warmer but I think it has more mids? Not sure of the terminology
Strabbs12345 that's one way of putting it, thanks for watching!
Tone wise they both sounded great, but the 2017 with the SS frets gave each note more definition and clarity.
Hi perf how would you rate the playability of this guitar compared to fenders at this price point? How would you rate the neck shape? Love you're videos and I'll send more subscribers your way! :)
The 2017 model is several steps up from a similar priced Fender. The neck is very comfortable with the rolled fretboard and stainless frets. The body is slightly thinner so it’s nice and light.
Fender necks have a vintage neck 9.5, this have 13.7... is a monster
Cool🙂, they are both good looking guitar but the legacy model is more brighter sounding.
Hi sir, I'm a huge fan😁
Nick Aaron Hidalgo thanks for watching!
Great video! Could you do a traditional vs modern ML-3?
I'll see what I can do! Thanks for watching!
Great video! I wonder how the traditiona 2017 would sound in the comparison. Thakns
Ze gonçalves do you mean the Standard model?
Yes.
Let me see about getting my hands on an ML-3 Standard. It won't be for a while, though. However, I love the ML-1 Standard I played in my other new video.
ML3 Modern 2017 test please :)
Just on sound loved the ML-3 Traditional mainly because of those dimarzios. They sounded more tele like. Obviously playing feel is a big part of the guitar and sadly I can't comment on that.
gusto ko yung natural finish at kung humbucker at hindi single my bolt ba yan sa likod? thanks-
kirtan samadhi [
Nice demo. What's the name of the song? Luv it.
Got it. "People get ready" by Curtis Mayfield.
It's a variation of my song "Lift", not yet released. Thanks for watching!
wow! tnx
Chapman pickups are really not that great in my opinion. Sure it is definitely good, but to me they sound thin and shrill. I don't know what pickups you have in the legacy one, but they sound better to me. I'm sure the new pro series ml3 feels much better though, and is more stable. I want one myself actually and probably will get it sometime later. It might get re-formulated again, since Chapman is a fairly new company, so it's kind of expected. No rush there.
Dzimka Bujiashvili I have DiMarzio Area T set in the Legacy.
I don't know why, but these are so desirable. Although the change to own brand pickups might put many off...
Chris Franklyn it's the total package now, I don't feel the need to change pickups
Sorry perf I might have to copy you and do the same lol. I have the blue legacy traditional and I love it!
The Hank Rots Project go for it!
I own the blue and natural legacy models and love them to death. I have never had any tuning issues with either one of them.
I hear the difference but I can't tell which is better. They're just different characters.
Rogertron 85 Yeah, It's uncanny though we have to keep in mind that my Legacy is modded with DiMarzio pickups. I feel the newer Chapman no longer needs mods and is ready to play out of the box
It better be, considering it's twice the price. Not saying they're overpriced but I'd say they aren't quite as much of a bargain any more and should hold up to better standards. That said I prefer the sound of of the new one in this video.
Todesnuss - I agree with you.
The Korean guitars are an amazing value, but the Indonesian guitars look, feel and sound just as great at 1/2 the price.
I can buy 2 standard guitars for the price of 1 pro series.
I personally still would go for a pro. They just have features that I want that you don't get on any other non-custom axe.
it's a pro that's actually a pro, & just not a word that was actually slapped on with a high cost to it. haha
2017 is more mid and legacy is much brighter, in my ears though.
What amp you playing through?
Played through an Avid Eleven Rack
The original ML3 Traditional guitar is the very same guitar Rob Chapman gifted to Johnny Hiland shortly after the Chapman Guitar tour of the East Coast of the USA in 2015. I my opinion, the original ML3 with a swamp ash body @ $499 USD remains the best value. The new 2017 ML3 aside from a case, stainless frets and "glow in the dark fret markers" @ $799 is a great guitar but for the $300 price difference and a Johnny Hiland endorsement, I'll stick with the $499 model. Btw...you can still buy the ML3 at Riff City Guitar for $502...
