The 1983 NBA season was basically the last of the ABA's heavy influence on the established NBA. This Spurs team had ABA stars Gilmore and Gervin, who showed they were every bit as good (or better) than the NBA players. The eventual champion - the Philadelphia 76ers - were guided by ABA holdovers Julius Erving, Moses Malone and Bobby Jones. What a great game this was. I was pulling for the Spurs.
