This game took me easily five times longer than it needed to because I was wholly unaware of what power ups even existed so I spent tons of time accidentally sequence breaking. 😅
Just finished my first run of the game at just under 6 hours and at LEAST half of that was me throwing myself at jumps and obstacles endlessly while underpowered, only for the very next ability I got to end up being the one that the section was designed for.
I remember purposefully avoiding the Tower Remains cuz I thought "Why would they put a powerup in the final zone?" Then I looked in every other location till I gave up and looked up that the Cling Gem WAS in the Tower Remains...
Literally same here, spent 4 hours running around the map, underbelly, library, theater, etc, i muat have walked through them 10 times, but never thought to check the tower since it seemed wayy to early Edit: loving the game tho
It does seem a little strange that one of the most important skills is hidden in a fairly early while simultaneously late game location if you know how to get it.
0:52 I'm really not a fan of how tricky this jump is, especially given how it's technically considered a required part of "normal" progression. I know this game is designed in such a way that really skilled players can break the intended progression by using the skills in creative ways but this one section doesn't seem as immediately doable as all the other "intended" ones in the game. It left me wandering around the world for a solid hour wondering what ability I missed. I still love the game though, this one gripe is literally my only major criticism of it.
That's fair. This is kind of a sequence break imo, it's a lot easier if you go back to the castle keep to get the ground pound ability first. The guide was intended to be an "optimized route" but you can switch things around however.
Regular sequence expects you to have the ground pound there, then reach the other side of the bridge by sliding, solar wind jump and then if you just can't quite make it, either sun greaves kick for a little extra horizontal coverage or sun greaves kick the bridge -> cancel ground pound immediately. This of course not considering actual more complicated movement tech that would allow you to cross the gap without some of these upgrades, I'm just speaking about what a player on their first blind run is most likely capable of doing up to that point in progression.
dude actually thank you so much for this video, this game is really cool but the lack of anything resembling a tutorial really does make it difficult to play at first
You make wall jumping look so easy lol. I've been struggling so hard with getting it at the right angle, height etc. Never tried sliding into the wall first. It's been...fun to figure out 🙃 Ty for this though, I kept thinking I was missing abilities.
Thank you, sir. I've been avoiding guids but I reached a dead end, and it turns out they placed a vital power-up in what seems to be the final area. My bad, i should've been more curious. But thanks for your help again.
Thank you so much for this. I was skipping the Tower because i thought i was missing something else to get in, but apparently what i was missing was just the right approach. Now i have the Cling Gem and can actually get through all the zones now! 😅
Man, i thought the tower ruins were the final boss or something, so i spent an eternanity, dicking around and doing nothing, so seeing this guy tell me to B-line to there, and get a power up and proceed to cheese the puzzles i spent time solving, is kinda sureal...
not nearly all the goods but it this still helped me find one I didn't have, Ascendant Light. I sequence broke so much of this game! LOL I was filled with determination and a lack of shmovement.
@@TenchixRyoko Glad to help! I focused this video on movement abilities to encourage viewers to explore the game blind. The sequence breaking is definitely cool
Man I've been stuck in the underbelly trying to do the challenge with all the levers, that raises the platform in the center. There is one lever that I just can't get too.. now I see I missed the wall jump when I was there.. 😅 On an adventure I must go.
I’m about five hours in on my first play through. I’ve grabbed all the power ups that except for the one in underbelly and the one at the tower. I cannot jump and climb the tower for the life of me. I spent like an hour on that alone am I just doing something wrong I power slide and then jump but it seems like the wall jump is just funky and doesn’t work for me and I only got up there once but immediately fell off
I didn't even know where that wall sliding ability was. That was the last ability and then I got two out of the three keys and every other power up without it. I did almost everything the hard way without the wall sliding ability and once I got it I was already like endgame strong. I wasted a tone of time and deaths before I got that final ability.
That goddamn... Cling Gem... I spent HOURS just walking in circles, looking for every possible thing that could have missed, except for the Tower Remains... Really?
Hello, I know I’m super late to the video being uploaded but I’m having so much trouble doing the charged jump kick to climb to the tower and it’s super frustrating and maybe you could help? Idk 🤷♀️
@@DuskyDark4175 Hey, no problem. It's def tricky, you may consider skipping that part of the video, getting Sunsetter for the stomp jump, and then coming back. But you can do it with some trial and error. You want to space yourself fairly close to the opposite pillar and take as much air time in between jumps as you can. I'm considering making a tutorial on this since it's a sequence break.
@@BattleFluffI had all three power ups beforehand and I managed to get it by watching the video more closely and now I’m stuck at the part where you have to climb the other tower to get the other power up 😅
0:52 THAT IS PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE! I have tried it several different times and all that happens is i fall down in game and hurt my hand in real life because i have to use my keyboard’s E key along side the WASD keys
The slide-jump-into-wall-kick boosts your jump height if you space it from the wall correctly, but the timing is super narrow to grab the ledge. I would suggest practicing the maneuver or skipping ahead to the ground pound ability and coming back.
0:53 - I literally cannot make this jump to save my life, even with the gound-pound jump. Please some one tell me I'm just missing something or else I'm gonna lose my mind!!! TnT
I wss hoping for abit more to figure out how tk get Alll of the moves but this kind of skips a few things good video justnwish it was something im looking for
You're onto something here in part. The guide is organized with the assumption that the viewer is familiar enough with the map and moves and just got stuck or can't find something. Some of the movement takes practice, but some of it doesn't (like spamming jump into a wall until you get a lucky high jump). I say it's fun to learn some of the tech anyway.
This game took me easily five times longer than it needed to because I was wholly unaware of what power ups even existed so I spent tons of time accidentally sequence breaking. 😅
Haha yeah, the first run is rough until you bump into an area you can navigate.
it took me weeks to finish the game because i had to adjust with one hand
same tbh

0:07 oh FML, I was already lost enough without knowing that some breakable walls don't look breakable.
It's kinda a sequence break. You're supposed to break it from the other side, which does look breakable.
