I met Dany filth in Perth WA the best thing in my life the cruelty and the beast tour once you have learnt who Elizabeth bathory is it makes the album so much more amazing I bought it when I was fifteen didn't have a fukn clue who they were singing about then once I watched a documentary on the blood countess fuck Dani is the best lyric writer by far and will always be the best vocalist in my opinion
I can't say I agree. She is much better as a solo artist. There are just certain vocalists that shouldn't have been in COF and she's one of them. Some artists are just better off on their own.
Even if you don't think she fits Cradle well at all, it's hard to make the argument that she was better off. Surely common sense would have it that her solo career (which she's still very hard at work on) will have exponentially more reach now that she's a member of such a popular and important band.
I think Dani hit the jackpot with employing Lindsay Schoolcraft. Not only is she a *more* than adequate replacement for Sarah Jezebel Deva, but she's even an able keyboardist! For a band that relies so heavily on both, operatic female vocals *and* keyboard parts, she really seems to be a perfect fit! Also: Hadn't Dani's vocals been drowned out by pretty much every other instrument, this would've been pretty much the best live rendition of this song to date.
GamerDares wins Yeah, Lindsay wasn't her *immediate* successor, of course. But she's the one who has been with the band for more than a year or a year and a half, as opposed to those other ladies whose names I don't remember.
NIMRODakaNIMROD Not true. Rosie smith was part of the band for at least 3 years. Before her it was Ashley ellylon during the Venus aversa tours. There's been 2 female vocalists/key board players since Lindsay.
GamerDares wins As far as I recall (and yes, my memory might be faulty there, even though I'm fairly certain it's not), Rosie Smith was *exclusively* a keyboardist (maybe she provided background vox here and there but I'm referring to *extensive* background vocals such as those in "Her Ghost in the Fog", not the occasional "ooh" and "aah" here and there) and she joined the band in, like, '05 or '06 when Deva was still their main background vocalist.
NIMRODakaNIMROD Rosie smith is in the Honey and sulphur clip. Her ghost in the fog era was like over a decade ago and I'm glad they got rid of Sarah deva, she could never sing in correct key live. Really ruined most songs.
Well any song of theirs really. Lord abortion, Babylon A.D. Beneath the howling stars, Devil to the metal. I can't imagine a world without CoF. Dani also helped me get over the fact that I'm short as well. Haha
Wish they could've had this lineup 10 years ago. Lindsay is a piano prodigy and her vocals are so solid. Marthus is a fucking wizard, and the dudes on strings are so clean with their playing. The best lineup ever, and now Dani is struggling with vocals. I'm not dogging him one bit. He's been punishing his vocal chords for over 20 years. It can't last forever, and I'm sure he loses sleep over it. It must be torture for him. It's like being a bodybuilder and watching your muscles fade with age. I give major kudos to him for still going out there every night, but man, he just doesn't sound that good live anymore. It's painful for me to admit that. I'll always be a fan though.
+peliculiar That's good to know. Seems like every live video of him in the last 5 years just isn't that good. I really need to see them live before I can give a valid opinion.
I guess he changed his style intentionally. I remember I've read it somewhere. His extreme style isn't doing well his vocal cords so he probably started to take vocal lessons and it shows. But beware these thoughts are just my assumptions ... :-)
+peliculiar No you're right. I saw an interview where he talked about that. He was saying how he started taking lessons just for the sole purpose of not losing it all together. So he clearly had to cut dome stuff out. Like I noticed, that he stopped doing that really harsh midrange stuff after Nymphetamine.
Poder recibir un abrazo y el saludo de Dani es una de las experiencias más significativa en mi vida . Realmente que honor fue conversar con este extraordinario músico
+Sethuna „The Ascended“ The sound you find here is different from the sound live. There's a separate mix done for the video. For example sound from microphones, that catch the audience, is added. You don't need that live of course. Still, the mix for the video has been done live on location, too. In addition it couldn't been mixed by the band's own mixer, as he or she was doing the live mix for the audience. Because of those two facts the mix you find with the video isn't perfect.

The Moon, she hangs like a cruel portrait
Soft winds whisper the bidding of trees
As this tragedy starts with a shattered glass heart
And the Midnightmare trampling of dreams
But no, no tears please
Fear and pain may accompany Death
But it is desire that shepherds it's certainty
As We shall see
She was divinity's creature
That kissed in cold mirrors
A Queen of snow
Far beyond compare
Lips attuned to symmetry
Sought Her everywhere
Dark liquored eyes
An Arabian nightmare
She shone on watercolors
Of my pond life as pearl
Until those who couldn't have Her
Cut Her free of this World
That fateful Eve when
The trees stank of sunset and camphor
Their lanterns chased phantoms and threw
An inquisitive glance, like the shadows they cast
On my love picking rue by the light of the moon
Putting reason to flight
Or to death as their way
They crept through woods mesmerized
By the taffeta Ley
Of Her hips that held sway
Over all they surveyed
Save a mist on the rise
(A deadly blessing to hide)
Her ghost in the fog
They raped left
(Five men of God)
Her ghost in the fog
Dawn discovered Her there
Beneath the Cedar's stare
Silk dress torn, Her raven hair
Flown to gown Her beauty bared
Was starred with frost, I knew Her lost
I wept 'til tears crept back to prayer
She'd sworn Me vows in fragrant blood
"Never to part
Lest jealous Heaven stole our hearts"
Then this I screamed:
"Come back to Me
I was born in love with thee
So why should fate stand in between?"
And as I drowned Her gentle curves
With dreams unsaid and final words
I espied a gleam trodden to earth
The Church bell tower key...
The village mourned her by the by
For She'd been a witch
Their Men had longed to try
And I broke under Christ seeking guilty signs
My tortured soul on ice
A Queen of snow
Far beyond compare
Lips attuned to symmetry
Sought Her everywhere
Trappistine eyes
An Arabian nightmare
She was Ersulie possessed
Of a milky white skin
My porcelain Yin
A graceful Angel of Sin
And so for Her
The breeze stank of sunset and camphor
My lantern chased Her phantom and blew
Their Chapel ablaze and all locked in to a pain
Best reserved for judgment that their bible construed
Putting reason to flight
Or to flame unashamed
I swept form cries
Mesmerized
By the taffeta Ley
Or Her hips that held sway
Over all those at bay
Save a mist on the rise
A final blessing to hide
Her ghost in the fog
And I embraced
Where lovers rot
Her ghost in the fog
Her ghost in the fog
