  • In this video, I talk about what creatinine is and why it is so important to a kidney transplant patient or anyone suffering with renal problems. I talk about the job of the kidneys and the impact creatinine has on someone's health.
    To start with, I define what creatinine is and what the effects of having high creatinine does to your body.
    I highlight why is it important to monitor your creatinine levels closely if you are a transplant patient or anyone with renal/kidney problems.
    I then discuss how the kidneys play an important role in controlling the amount of creatinine in our bodies and what would cause your creatinine levels to rise.
    Hope you enjoy 😊

    Love this video. It really explains a lo of things to ke since. Am a transplant recipient. Got my transplant back in March of this year and i recently started getting Hugh creatinine levels cause i started exercising and i don't get thirsty at all almost all day long and that's where it made more sense to me while you were explaining. I just got tested yesterday and it's 470 (umol/L) does it means I need a transplant too?

      Mine was around that number when I had my transplant. It doesn't always mean you need 1 straight away though. It depends on your function and other blood results. I hope yours gets better soon!

    Trying to find out about low levels is it still kidney related.

      I've not researched what low levels would mean. Something I will look into :)

    Why if Your kidney isn’t working properly it results in raised blood pressure?

    • @TransplantFitness
      @TransplantFitness  3 роки тому

      Because your kidneys regulate your blood pressure. It's your kidneys job to filter out all the unnecessary 'mess' in your blood. If this isn't filtered properly it leads to increased blood pressure.

      it depends on some other factors as well however that is quite high. How have you been feeling? Normally when its this high you might feel very tired
