  • This video covers the basics of the Currie Enterprises adjustable track bar, or panhard bar, for the Jeep Wrangler TJ, Cherokee XJ, and Grand Cherokee ZJ. Freiburger also shows you the suspension setup including Iron Rock Off-Road kuckle-over steering and a Dynatrac ProRock 44 front axle.

    This is more fun to watch for me than any of the actual shows. Just casual at-home car work. (well, discussion in this case, but you know)

    Like many below, not really a Jeep fellow (though I somehow find myself involved with either of the neighbors' YJs or the lone TJ on occasion), but I really appreciate the off-road suspension tech.
    FYI: I had a knee-jerk reaction at the end of this video to slam the mute button on the ever-terrible Roadkill Extra audio backfire cue, then realized I wasn't watching an Extra. Bless you for this.

    Currie is like snap-on. Magically expensive, and not really any better than the competition.
    Glad to see you own a TJ like me, the last real Jeep made before they switched to Hummer production.

    Hey David, I got a crazy good idea for some content for your channel, just hear me out for a second. What if you and one of your pals, that Finnegan seems like a swell guy, just bring a few Gopro cameras and go on a road trip. Might not sound like much, but I got a feeling something like that could become fairly popular. To make it even more exciting perhaps you could travel in cheap old cars. I trust I'll hear from you!

    I intentionally put heim joint steering "in a bind" I despise tie rod roll so clock the heims in opposite directions. For steering purposes they do not need to match. It's essentially a spherical ball and socket. Doesn't hinder steering at all what so ever clocking the heims in opposite direction. They have full range of motion regardless.

    Neat, don't deal with a lot of Jeeps, but new information is always handy. I do wonder how those hime joints would hold up after a winter of use in Manitoba due to sanding and beet juicing the roads to control ice build up.

      ThatManitobaGuy they don't do to bad if you keep them clean and heavily oild/greased I've seen them go as long as 8 year s well maintained and our road are just as bad in Ontario..

    David any update on your TJ? I was thinking of going Currie as well do you have a adjustable rear trac bar is it necessary? I was going to buy the 4” kit with anti rock and going 35 or hope they fit 35. I always enjoy your road trip with the family in the TJ and love the other content as well hope you and your family had a great Christmas thank you for all you do

    Proably not s big deal, but the upper JKS disconnect mounts go around the factory swaybar ends. Bolted to the bottom is how most cheaper ones do it, but check out the JKS directions.

    Nice setup. I'm running the Iron Rock track bar in my '91 XJ with Rubicon 4.5" coils and fixed length LCA's. Really need to ditch the stock upper arms but not sure if I should go adjustable at this height?
    Any advice on some decent riding shocks under $50/ea.? I'm running some stock JK shocks and they seem to be way to stiff for the XJ.

      With holes through the quarter panels and trunk floor - $4-5k at best. Decent driver w/no rust, $7-10. Excellent, $12.5k. Flawless resto w/proper ford assembly decals, etc, $15-20k.

      TheSuperc63 it will never come back to UA-cam , that is a pipe dream.UA-cam is ripping off all creators here with dumb rules that make no sense. Toyota’s are expensive... especially solid axle ones. You can find good Jeeps for about $5000 And have tons of aftermarket support bolt on stuff

    • @combinationpizzahutandtaco3782
      @combinationpizzahutandtaco3782 6 років тому

      In my area (Arizona) Toyota’s are expensive as hell, you can find good yj’s for 5,000 with winches and lockers, heck one for sale has a swapped in 350 v8 for cheap. Cherokee xs’s are dime a dozen as well. Full size Jeep’s are also cheap (except grand Wagoneer because hipsters) cj 5s are also cheap. Tjs are expensive because they are the “last real Jeep” but every once and a while one comes up for cheap. I rink yotas are cool but there are plenty of good options. Off roading is not a cheap hobby anyway. My ride is a 1991 ford bronco, parts are expensive and hard to find for full size broncos. :)
