I just purchased 4 Elf I lipsticks. Three out of the four were the same shades as you picked. They are so nice and extremely long wearing. Love your channel! I love the Loreal Telescopic mascara! However, it makes my lashes so long they touch my brow bone. When that happens I causes transfer. So, I purchased the waterproof! They are both amazing!

I’m 54 and I have made the switch from foundation to BB cream and concealer combined. That has worked really well for me. I used to love the Rimmel pressed translucent powder but I don’t see Rimmel much anywhere anymore. I’m a dry skin gal with minimal oily T zones. And because of my dry skin, I usually stay away from anything heavy powder. Finely milled powder is great alternative for mature skin and keep everything minimal without cakey and setting in the fine lines. I have very little wrinkle but the texture and sun spots is what I have. So the BB cream and concealer is my go to. And lastly, I apply with hydrating glow primer under my BB cream. Works like a charm! You look beautiful Risa!

Thanks for all the good advice on makeup! I love the NYX Blur foundation you recommended, my daughter who will be 50 in July just bought some for herself. She’s a lawyer and usually buys all high end products. She just bought a Laura Mercier Foundationn and a bronzer by Milk that cost her $100. Both didn’t blend well and showed so much skin texture. After she tried the NYX she’s a believer that you don’t have to spend a ton of money for a product to do what it claims! Bless you Risa, you’re a game changer! ✨🙏🏻✨🥰✨

I am also impressed with the L’Oreal telescopic lift mascara! It makes my lashes look amazing. Some people have complained about that brush but I think that brush has grown on me. I can’t agree with you more Risa!! I use the lash curler before I apply the mascara. But I haven’t had to use a primer. Yes it does hold the curl. Yeah waterproof does hold the curl but you are absolutely on point and right about the quality of this mascara. I have a luminous lashes, and it does give me volume, but it gives me length for sure. The only thing you didn’t say was how easy it is to get off or on. When I’m trying to get it off at night, I really have to work at using my DHC oil to melt the mascara.

I have oily skin and large pores too and I was so relieved to see you talk about the powder from Milani because I was so excited to try it and it didn't blur and worse than that it makes my face look powdery so thank you! Now I don't feel so bad about it not working for me
You have to try Honeybee Gardens Cosmetics. I love that their make up isn't made with harsh chemicals. I have allergies so I have to be careful of what I use.
I'm fair skin and I like a darker peach corrector so I can mix in a light concealer so I can adjust it to my skin
I just found your channel and I'm so excited! I'm 59 and have oily skin. It's so hard to go to ulta etc and ask for recommendations when almost everyone has dry skin. I will be watching many more of your videos. Thx 😊

I picked up the new L’Oreal mattifying primer and like you, I was blown away. It have at least a dozen primers and while a few are quite good, this new one from L’Oreal is amazing and it seriously beats even the high end primers. Now I *need* to find that NYX foundation….
For corrector, I also have a blue purple under eye, but I use yellow corrector, and it looks gr8!

Great video!. I usually love L'Oreal mascaras and I actually use one of their other mascaras however this telescopic one I had the hardest time removing, it clung to my lashes and even with oil was very difficult to remove I was afraid I was going to lose

Tried the L"oreal mascara and LOVED it, I do not wear false lashes but it definitely gives me longer lashes if not a lot fuller. I love the wand and everything about it. Thank you. I am going to try the matte primer when I can find it.
Hi Risa,I know its not a drugstore powder,but after seeing advertizer about Rodial blurring setting powder,I was blown away with the result.I havent used since any other setting powder.I do have huge pores and Im very oily.Just like you skin.This product is unbelivable.Just loveing it.Does such a good job

So glad to hear your thoughts on the Blur foundation. I've been itching to pull the trigger on that one, but wanted input specifically from someone with similar skin concerns. I'd be interested to know how it performs with the Caliray and Hourglass Veil primers you have mentioned as well. It's interesting that the L'Oreal Mattifying primer would have worked so much better than the pore minimizing. Re: blurring powders, have you tried It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores? I am thinking about grabbing their annual It Beauty Book to try several of their products, but that one in particular seems promising.

I have that Loreal foundation and we are about the same skin tone and I used to use 4W but the new one looked so dark I got a 3W and it was a nice match. 4W would be good for the summer. So 4 N would be nice for when you have a fresh tan I would think. I liked the original and I like this newer formulation too.

A Great Combo that works for me is The Maybelline Face Studios Face Primer and Loreal Age Perfect Radiant Serum Foundation topped with Wet and Wild Photofocus Powder and Wet N Wild Finishing Spray.

Thank you for reviewing the NYX Blur! I JUST bought this last week but haven't tried it! Looks promising! On the subject of foundations, could you recommend one with a luminous/radiant finish for mature combination skin? Or is that somewhere we just don't go? I've really got my eye on the Rose Inc Skin Enhance Luminous Skin Tint Serum Foundation or Westman-Atelier Vitsl Skincare Dewy Foundation Drops. Although something at a drug store price would be great too!

I was skeptical and kind of peeved that the price was at $15 but after I put it on I was hooked! And I only need a very small amount for a full-coverage look. I’m heading to the drugstore first thing tomorrow morning to buy the L’Oréal Telescopic mascara. Can’t wait to try it out. ❤️

This was a great video! I really appreciate the time you take to really explain the advantages and potential disadvantages of a product. I also really appreciate how you take the time to discuss whether or not a product would be good or not as good on dry skin. I have quite dry skin and I always take your comments into account when considering buying something new. I recently watched UA-cam video where the influencer was talking about makeup trends. It was really interesting but because she is a bit younger than I am, I thought it might be fun to have someone over 40 also review and discuss some trends that are coming. Just a thought, I really love your content and I'm so happy to hear that you are subscriber numbers are growing! It's well deserved.

Great reviews Risa! I totally agree with you on the ELF Camo Corrector-I ordered 3 of them online as I was sure it was going to be my HG under eye corrector but am sorely disappointed. I tried mixing it with both a concealer and the yellow shade (which I also got online) but feel I’ve wasted my money. Back to the drawing board to find a solution to my dark under eye circles.
Wow! That mascara makes it look like you already have false eyelashes on. I am definitely buying some of that. I also find the NYX Bare with me concealer awesome. Thanks for trying these.

Definitely ELF missed out on a pink tone corrector for fair to light skin . Pink really brightens the undereye in a subtle way and I use it daily . I would love a drugstore pink corrector right now the closest I have found in a brand on Amazon Tip Concealer that costs $6 it’s a really nice, hydrating pink corrector ..

I have oily skin with pores.. late 40s.. I have really dedicated this past year to trying new foundations, primers, setting/ blurring powders.. I feel so discouraged tbh.
I can’t seem to find the right combo.. either I’m too yellow or orange thanks to foundations and bronzers.. or if it looks good, I start noticing dry flaky patches.
And a big yes to feeling like the odd man out, feeling like everyone else loves a product and I hate it lol! Love your videos.. still hanging on to trying.. hope is not completely lost, but almost.
Hi Risa! I have fairer skin than you do, and I have found that using the elf yellow color corrector works much better for my fair skin tone/under eye blue/purple issues maybe you could try the yellow & have better results -- or mixing the yellow & peach to get a better color for you? I have had great results so far -- oh, and also applying just a very small amount, which I am sure you already do :)

I’m surprised about the Milani Blur Powder ranking! I bought it online at ULTA and I actually love it! I normally don’t like super fine powders and I really liked this. I tap a brush into it and then tap my brush onto a puff, and then tap the puff onto my face. @Risa, give that technique a try, although I’m sure you have. I hate dipping my brush into powder and applying it to my face. For some reason powder looks terrible on me with a brush, however, when I tap the brush into the powder and then tap it onto a puff, it’s perfect! Tapping a puff directly into powder is too much, but the brush to puff works amazing! Give it a try with the brush tapped puff! ❤

Hi Risa! Love your videos. I like using the NYX skin blur tint over the new E.L.F. Suntouchable sunscreen. I have normal to dry skin in the winter. It looks beautiful, and benefit of sunscreen under the tint. Works for me 😊 I'm 62 years of age. I try to do a lot of skin care. My skin looks much younger than my age, with the exception of my sun spots. 😔Started in my late twenties. Probably should have stayed out of the sun, but we didn't have the warnings we have now.

Congrats on a growing channel! I bought the L'Oreal pore smoothing primer, and while standing in Ulta I actually looked to see if you had already covered it. I should have waited. It was AWFUL! Sticky and whatever foundation I used clung to it in weird ways. I should have waited to see your review. Lesson learned 😘
