Thank you so much for posting these - all I had was a kids comic about the Gurus' lives before, so this really helps! Can I ask a question though? Why are the Gurus talked about as 'they' instead of 'him'? And what is the meaning of the word you say after the Guru's name (parchar? Pattisaho?)?
Thanks in advance for reading, and bless you all x
Lucy Fyfe They is used out of respect, since there is no polite version of You in modern English. In Punjabi we have a polite and standard word for you, just like in French, Tu and Vous. The other word after Guruji is "Paatshah" which means King, referring to Gurujis role as King of this world and King of the next World
Thank you! So it is the same word as 'so paatshah saha paatisahib' in japji? Sorry if I wrote it wrong.
There's books online - gurmatveechar.com
I suggest starting with ten masters by puran gill then moving onto spiritual born people by puran gill as well.
These books give a summary of the gurus jeevans in short sakhi (true story) form.
WE ARE ALL FEMALE. everyone please watch this video.

Can you make a video about where to go if you want to read and learn Sikhi yourself? What texts should you should look at? What key historical facts about Sikhi should you look into?
I ask this because there are non-Sikhs asking more questions about Sikhi, they ask where they could read the texts themselves without going online as there could be false information (not this channel however). Basically, where can they start? Waheguru
In terms of a text, there is only one place to begin, the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. You can find it online by Googling "Sri Guru Granth Sahib". Then I would recommend understanding the depth of Bani by watching videos posted on this channel through videos that breakdown the Paath, bit by bit. Another good place to start is to watch a Street Parchaar video (I suggest these because they give a good overview of Sikhi for non-Sikhs), That being said, I'm sure Jagraj has a introductory video to get started somewhere on this channel.
