    hahaha good one. i laugh at people who are ignorant enough to say stupid things like that. Although Chinese, Korean and Japanese instruments seem similar, the sound of each individual instrument is different. Each instrument has its own spirit ^^

    Sinawi is an improvisation instrumental music style rooted in shamanic music. In other words, the musical instruments such as Gayageum, Geomungo, Haegeum, Ajun, Flute, Because it is free and impromptu, but never distracting or dissonant, Sinawi uses the phrase "harmony in disharmony" or "order in chaos".

    If I describe difference between Chinese, Japanese and Korean.
    In my knowledge, Chinese is like a moon light with a lake in a mid night on a small boat. Japanese is like you're sitting in a zen with patience and feeling the surroundings, being gentle.
    Korean is like you have the feeling of sadness and happiness and rage at the same time dancing and bouncing, having a party.

      Well said, I couldn't agree more. Traditional Korean music is gentle yet aggresive, strong yet light.

      Anything connected to Japanese music I like. Love hearing orchestras featuring shamisen or koto.
      With Chinese I like the ethereal music of the Qin, and Guzheng. I also like Ping Tan. Don't care for the music of Beijing opera which is high pitched, shrill and punctuated with gongs. I like this Korean music. Its unique and eerie. Nothing like it. Love the emphatic percussion present in much of Korean music. It gives it an edge and body.

    Traditional Korean music boasts a rich artistry that has long been said to be the essence of oriental music. The harmony in the unique dissonance creates a very unique atmosphere and can express the emotion of sadness as if piercing a person's lungs, and the process of bringing out the pain deep inside and sublimating it into excitement at a very high level
    Three-stringed hexagon is mainly used in Korean music, which refers to the three stringed instruments of Geomungo, Gayageum, and Hyangbi-pa + a pair of drum, janggu, haegeum, flute, and taepyeongso

    이런 멋진 연주에 정작 한국인들의 댓글은 잘 안보이고 외국인들의 댓글만 보이니 안타깝네요.우리 민족만이 표현 할 수 있는 정과 한과 우수가 서린이런 시나위 합주음악은 다른 민족의 음악에서는 그 유례를찾아 보기가 힘들것입니다.연주자 각자의 기량이 뛰어나야 함은 기본이고 합을 맞추는 센스와 감각이 돋보이는 그런 멋진 연주였습니다.좀 아쉬웠던 것은 독주 할 때 카메라가 그 독주자를 클로즈업으로 잡지 못하고 계속해서 같은 앵글로만 보여주는 것이아쉬웠습니다.

    Is there a term for the very wide, gradual vibrato, almost a tremolo that all the performers do? It seems distinctive to East Asian music, particularly vocal music, and Korean music in particular. Also, I love chuimsae; so emotional!

    • @joshuak5648
      @joshuak5648 9 років тому +5

      aquaticko Those sort of ornaments are called "Sikimsae" and specifically, the vibrato is called Tteoneoun Mok which translates to vibrating tone. There are different versions of the type of vibrato used, and I'm not sure if they all have different names or if they are all referred to as tteoneoun mok.

      aquaticko Yeah, these sort of 'ornaments' are really really specific and deliberate in traditional Korean music. It's a fine art really. Unfortunately there is not a whole lot of info available to Westerners, as traditional Korean music and it's theories and concepts were all passed on orally (which is part of it's beauty).

    확실히 한중일 전통음악 다 들어보니까 존나 비슷하긴하네 ㅋㅋㅋ 근데 차이점이라고하면
    뭔가 전문가가 아니라서 뭔가 걍 느낌이 다르다고하면 좀 너무 추상적이고 음.... 암튼 존나게 다름 근데 외국인이 듣기엔 헷갈릴만함...
