If you'd asked me 18 months ago would this ever happen, I'd have said no. But at this moment in time, to be fair, I'm sat here thinking....it's alright that you know
and do you know something I’m in a situation whereby at this moment in time I’m thinking if you’d have told me at the beginning of the season this would happen I’d have absolutely snapped your hand off like you wouldn’t believe because this is Manchester United
Love the fact that he treats a decision between a roast dinner and a fry up as seriously as whether he would re-live his wedding or the 1999 celebrations...not one to take matters lightly is Gary
For the people not acquainted with Manchester but have heard stories, that ball in the sky is the sun, and this was filmed on the one day a year it visits Manchester.
I was wondering why it was so bright and why they didn’t turn to dust when venturing outside into the bright so thank you for clearing that up lol 🤷🏻♀️☀️☠️🧛🏼
Let's be clear, I really enjoy this series, it's funny brutal and thought provoking. I'm looking forward to Gary's because to be fair, it could be the best one yet.
I really want to watch this full version. As a leeds fan I never liked Gary as a player. But the man talks so much sence about football in general and his views on things that are happening are brilliant. The overlap is some of the best stuff on UA-cam or even TV for that matter.
I’m a staunch NUFC fan who doesn’t like Man U very much but I do respect Man U and am honestly a little bit jealous. I like Neville as a pundit, he and Carra are brilliant. Very credible this guy, has my full respect as well.
Coming from a Liverpool fan. Gary Neville is one of the best pundits around now and he’s so funny and likeable. If sky sports didn’t have Carra and Neville they would be gone
Big fan of Neville for his honesty with his development as a pundit. In the early years he was stiff and admittedly trying too hard. This will undoubtedly filter through to other ex-pros making the transition to punditry. The content Neville, Caragher and Keane are involved with knock it out of the park.
Decent watch, but you don't have to be relentless, assertive, driven etc. That's what he wants to be, he can't do the slow lane, plenty of us can. Everyone just be yourself.
11:22 if you want people to actually see what you're referring to. The amount of times I've clicked a timestamp and not understood just because it was placed too late.
These ex-United players may have won everything but there is no doubt they all have PTSD from their time under Sir Alex. Gary says he wished he could have been more relaxed like TAA or Reece James but the reality is that there was always a crushing pressure to win every game when he played.
Gary always puts down his football abilities, I watched Gary break into the united team until his retirement, he's certainly one of the best fullbacks I've ever seen play for united in my 39 years of being a season ticket holder certainly up there with Dennis irwin, I do like the more modern full back, I think trent of Liverpool could be absolute world class if he cut out his mistakes, he's still young and it's incredible the skill he's got, Gary and Beckham was incredible up that right side, certainly didn't have trents ability but his work rate and crossing and bravery was 10/10..
The best bit of this interview without a shadow of a doubt is when Gary neville is asked "which cultural figure, dead or alive, would you like to meet and get to know? " and without hesitation Gary replies "Henry the 8th"
Selling yourself a bit short there gary . Top fullback good defensively and contributed going forward. Exactly what the game demanded back in the years you played and that's coming from a Liverpool fan.
4:50 have you read the Hilary Mantel trilogy on Henry VIII Gary? ‘Wolf Hall’, chronicling the life and rise of his right hand man Thomas Cromwell; they’re unbelievably brilliant (i’d recommend audiobooking them in the car etc.,). Great Overlap. Looking forward to your upcoming book 👏 👑
Thought I was the only one that didn’t care for roast dinner and thought turkey is ridiculously over rated. Loved this episode. I liked the role reversal
i grew up in america. i never watch soccer. that being said, i love the overlap. in my opinion, Gary N is charming and charismatic and does a great job with this show.
You’ve got to think about it relatively. In relative terms, compared to other footballers he’s probably not very good at ‘kicking a ball’. Obviously, compared to the general population he’s very good at kicking a ball hahaha.
“The only potato I like is chips - fries. I don’t like - you know - mash potato, jacket potato, boiled potato... uh... dauphinois potato, parmentier pota- all these things that they do with potatoes. Just cook them, fry them and fucking stop putting truffle and oregano and all the salt and pepper and shit that they started to do with these things!” - the words of Gary Alexander Neville (2022) ladies and gentlemen
I hate the way Gary always plays down his footballing ability, he was immense and wore the armband because he thoroughly deserved it. One of my favourites.
The difference between neville and Roy Keane summed up in the favourite other sport question! Keane "I like rugby league and boxing" Neville "netball,............by a million miles"🤣🤣
Over the last 12 to 18 months I’ve been really impressed with Gary Neville at this moment in time.
Loooool classic
Do you know something, I agree with you
This football club is a fantastic football club
to be fair

In the last 12-18 months the interviews have been flakey, it’s really has. Geoff just gives that sense of security, that new breath of fresh air… 🤣

bit gutted you're not interviewing Geoff. I bet he's had an interesting life + career
From estate agent to television producer, the thrilling rollercoaster life of Geoff Shreeves... not.
You mean the most boring lol
Go watch the Peter crouch podcast
I honestly thought this was going to be that!!! Missed opportunity
I can guarantee Gary Neville’s is a lot more interesting
The "well done Geoff" at the end there 😂. Sir Alex would approve
Cheers Geoff

You can tell how recently people started watching football when they say they don’t rate Gary Neville.
our man on the ground, Geoff Shreeves
I’m pretty sure ‘comfort movie or tv show’ was meant to elicit a name of a comfort movie or tv show but whatever
Yeah I think it was.
I know I was surprised someone on the crew didn't pick up on that lmao
Let's be clear, I really enjoy this series, it's funny brutal and thought provoking. I'm looking forward to Gary's because to be fair, it could be the best one yet.
Hysterical. I much prefer questions answered without being sterilised by a PR team first, which is why I do love the Overlap.
Geoff was proper Brent in this. Love it.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love Gary! Absolute legend always want to hear his thoughts on things!

For the most part maybe, Gary has sometimes been clueless and has had some bad takes. Carra definitely has more ball knowledge
He gets it completely wrong so much ?
Very good on football in general but when talking about Man U it’s downhill
Failed at Valencia, Salford, and United.
He’s definitely got something about him but a lot of his football opinions are sh*te
I’m a staunch NUFC fan who doesn’t like Man U very much but I do respect Man U and am honestly a little bit jealous. I like Neville as a pundit, he and Carra are brilliant. Very credible this guy, has my full respect as well.
It’s Gary’s turn at this moment in time 😂😂👏🏾

Whereby
Unbelievable
In the last 12-18 months
To be fair
The one we've been waiting for...cannot wait for the full interview. He's been magnificent as a panelist since he retired. Not so as a manager.
The Valencia team he took over was missing 12 1st team players or something....
@@aidangriffiths5075 and they didn’t speak English and he didn’t speak Spanish.
What I like about Neville he has gone from ridicule to cool. I love how he has turned people's opinions around 👍

Great to see this interview being independently regulated, terrific 👍

"Comfort film, or TV series"
"TV series" 😂
It's like the Jimmy Carr joke, who would you sleep with, anyone living or dead.
Anyone living
😂😂😂😂
Wow they really are looking near and far for guests this year!
Criminally underrated as a RB. Gary and Becks linkup was unreal and his crossing ability was often overlooked because of Beckhams.
True he was a great crosser.
Its funny how hard he is on himself. A bad fullback doesn't play that long for Manchester United under SAF.
Nonsense. He was extremely overrated. He just lucked out to be the only RB in the country for 20 years.
Lol. All I can say is that he would still make it as United's right back.
Glad you mentioned my country MALTA! You know we love you and UNITED forever Gary!
I don’t know if this is just me but who finds the way Gary Neville goes and stares down the soul of the train at 11:24 hilarious
You and me both mate 😂

Good to see Steve Bruce doing more media work
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Gary should have interviewed Geoff. He's a great journalist. Knowing his insights into football would have been interesting.
they always upload the question part of the interview first and then the full hour long one so they probably just switched it up only for this part
These ex-United players may have won everything but there is no doubt they all have PTSD from their time under Sir Alex. Gary says he wished he could have been more relaxed like TAA or Reece James but the reality is that there was always a crushing pressure to win every game when he played.
Trent knows when he makes one mistake in a game, hes going viral on twitter lol these guys are hooked on social media too they see everything
They won 11 premier league title which TAA and James can dream of
Gary is top entertainment, also there's a reason why they play so calm they ain't trying to win 10 premier league's in 15 years
This was excellent! Keep em coming!
Geoff has always been a very underrated part of the sky team. Always been great
He's fucking awful
Gary listing types of potatoes has got me dying
Nice of them to get Karl Pilkington on this week. When are they getting G Nev on?
Could NOT stop thinking this. Especially when he was talking about potatoes.
What a show. Neville has smashed it.
Someone comment “Cheers Geoff”, it’ll be outrageously funny
Already done it and I loved every second of it
Unbelievable Geoff!
As a Liverpool fan I’d never thought I’d like Gary Neville 😂

Actually wanted to hear about Geoffs story
I love Gary, but I'm increasingly of the opinion that he's quite insane.
Sometimes that's what it takes to be successful lol
Glad I’m not the only one
well that is what happens when u spend time at fox river penitentiary
@@legacy_292 this comment finished me 😭
Deep thinking and insanity is a very thin line
Karl Pilkington and Neville would be unreal travelling the world documentary
When Gary calls Geoff his colleague and friend have a look at the bloody smile on him!
Henry the 8th great answer would love to go back and see what the past was like hopefully VR will give us that
VR would only recreate the past from what we think we know or from what we are told. It wouldnt be the reality. It would just be V lol
Ancestor simulation.... Virtual Reality will be a revolution in human progress. Well get there by probably 2050.
I was honestly hoping you were gonna ask Geoff some things. Maybe another video cause I’d love to hear from him
Just watched Neville on Diary of a CEO. Well worth a watch.
Saw the thumbnail the other day, will give it a go
Thank you! I just watched it in one go because of your comment. What a journey, it was heavy, it was raw, truly a must watch.
Yep watched it this afternoon 👍
Very open interview, very surprising how many business ventures he's got. Must be busy every minute of every day
Geoff’s face when he says he hates roast dinners was priceless 🤣

Love to see a show of carra and neville stuck on island together for 2 weeks
I love G.Nev gave his ALL to UTD. 💪👍

Gary dropped a bollock on the wedding vs 99 question there, good luck explaining that to the wife 😬

More than welcome to come and stay Gary if you want to visit NZ,
Great interview from Gary 12-18 months Neville

Waiting for Jose Mourinho to be a part of this great show.

Agree about Gary's comments about Turkey meat - dry and boring! Great series and well done Geoff (from an LFC fan)
Mr Shreeves doing an interview? Cheers Geoff.
Shreeves is quite a heavy breather.
Turkey - "If its that good, you wouldn't just eat it once a year." - Didn't realise how me and Gary are so similar.

It's football you berk
when is Ryan Giggs's interview. I would like to know more about how he unlocked his brother's wife kitty.
Good to see Steve Bruce forging a new career interviewing football legends.
The way Gary looks at that train, as if to say "do you mind? we're filming!".
That's some impressive work from the camera operator there - that part of the canal path is narrow!!
Definitely retitle this, sounds like Geoff is the subject - which would be cool!
Brilliant, love the overlap
Geoff Shreeves, a man absolutely nicking a living.
You know, you aren't paying the camera man enough. To do that walking backwards along the canal is gangster
