Someone truly loved this home.the attention to detail and the time that took....wow.brought tears to my eyes thinking this one of a kind character of a house would be demolished just to put more look alike homes....
Call me cray cray but I'm a 70's kid so I absolutely LOVE every little inch of this place....even the wallpaper...ALL of the wallpaper. I wouldn't change a thing if it was mine! THANK YOU for such a reminiscent tour! xo
Wow I just love this home ...I haven’t got to the end yet so not sure if there’s an upstairs or basement , but I COULD live with ALL the wallpaper...You are right that kitchen IS smaller that we would expect , from the design choices obviously these people were well to do ....Heart Breaking Another elegant retro home being demolished, Makes me sad that there isn’t SOMEONE interested in preserving homes like this
Someone had taken great pride in fitting that wallpaper. A lot of very painstaking aligning has taken place there. I think it is possible the lady of the house did it herself. Or at least ordered it.
LOVE IT. It is an obvious someone did like Victorian style and blended with modern style, it becomes a modern Victorian style or Victorian modern style. Kitchen literally is considered as a smart kitchen then. Someone definitely was into interior design or wall paper design. they put their expertise and experiment in this house. They didn't like to show any of their stuffs, despite off the flashy wallpaper, they probably did have lots of guests that why they did make ppl. Busy looking at the wallpaper than looking at their stuff. Obvious rich ppl. Can u imagine the cost of all these doors they have in this house? How many doors were? 50 or 100?
Home cooking may not have been quite so popular when this was built. Perhaps the architects thought ready meals or delivered meals were the way forward or something?
@@sarahstrong7174 Only pizza restaurant's delivered in the 70's & ready made was only TV dinners from the grocery store. The kitchen wasn't the center of attention in the 70's & everybody was normal weight and or thin. Going out to eat fancy or MacDonalds was a big deal back then. Wallpaper, especially how they had it with matching curtains or the shower curtain, the window seat in the kitchen matched the drapes. It was a sign of wealth & people liked to show it off. It was very important to match everything in each room in those days. I loved everything about that house. If I was a bazillionare I'd have it reconstructed somewhere. Oh man all the closest space! Reminds me of old episodes of Columbo. LoL
@@annahgibbus8 Where are you from? In the U.K. we did not have pizza shops in the 70s, except maybe in a few big cities, there were some Indian & Chinese takeaways & we had fish & chip shops of course but they did not usually deliver. Then KFC did start in places but they did not deliver. If you had a really good community based pub or cafe, doing meals they might deliver to known locals but in those days far fewer pubs did food. If you wanted food delivered there was not much unless you were elderly & could get 'meals on wheels' lunches delivered. However bus services were more frequent & extensive & so you were more likely to be able to go fetch your own. Otherwise you had to rely on a friend with transport. I do not remember seeing TV dinners in the supermarket here till the 1980s. So it was fish fingers or sausages with baked beans & or 'Smash' instant mashed potato for us. I like older houses because they have more character. All the best.
@@annahgibbus8 A few might have done but not usually. They sold deep fried fish in batter & deep fried potato chips & mushy peas & often sold deep fried battered sausages too
Not volted ceiling but coffered ceiling :) OMG I must say that that place is wallpaper overload and matching carpet to go with it. What an eyesore. Hey, I'm over 50 and wow...no.
Love this in all its glory! The birds in the dinning room wallpaper are a pheasant of some kind the ceiling detail is called coffered. Vaulted ceilings are when it goes up to the roof line. Love the variety of scones, and all the details in the trim. Love all that retro wallpaper and matching curtains makes me want to live there! Very nice explore! Thanks for sharing, Noah!
A " Psychedelic " explosion from the 70's. Flower Children had to have lived there. Simply beautiful! Now you know " what color the number 7 smells like !" 😂😂😂
What a find! Definitely paid a hefty price for all that wallpaper and to have it installed. The work was done by professionals. I was surprised that there was only two bedrooms. Surprised that the dining room was closed off from the kitchen and the living room was closed off from the dining room. Fabulous wet bar in the hall.
My thinking is these people may have been VERY SUCCESSFUL INTERIOR DESIGNERS , Who else would think to have such COMPLETE DETAILS absolutely EVERYWHERE
Noah,I'm binge watching all my favorite time capsule houses n urbex channels, including yours.I think your channel is really great. Please be safe always
BTW, - that ceiling is a coffered ceiling, a series of sunken panels; a tray ceiling has a center section higher than the area around the perimeter of a room - both add visual interest.
Hey Noah I just wanted to say thank you for your video's , life is tough right now with everything that's going on and other thing's in my life. Please keep them coming ,take care Noah! ☺ ❤
Hi Noah! Your comments on this home when you’re walking room to room had me laughing yet again. The front door details and the transom above the door were cool to see. Thanks again for another great video! Stay safe my friend. 👍❤️😊
it might be a bit retro but i love it the curtains in the living room are very very similar to the ones i have in my living room in my small bungalow that would nearly fit in that living room lol
There is a bird called a greater bird of paradise. The first wallpaper reminds me of that bird. I think I'm dizzy from all the shapes and colors! Thanks. ^_^
Amazing and weird at the same time. Wall paper on the ceiling and cabinet doors is overkill but I can tell it is high quality wallpaper except maybe the yellow and green flower bathroom. I've never seen a house quite like it. 😯😲😳🤔 Interesting.
This house has charm! Why would anyone destroy it?! The Ladies with Good Bones could make this house into a modern gem 💎. Heartbreaking that cookie cutter homes will be placed here.
Thankyou for showing us this interesting place. I liked the wallpaper but sometimes found it a little overwhelming when it reflected in the mirror as well.
Total party mansion! That bathroom is for guests indoors, or outdoor party I imagine. I hope these places get salvaged before the6 are demolished! Wall paper is over kill for sure lol But, money tends to make people weird, and some people with money just have no taste lol 😂 Great explore Noah!
So sad this will be torn down. I wish they would keep it and make it the clubhouse at least? Thank you for doing this. It can't be easy knowing their fates :( May God bless you!
Definitely not a home for someone suffering from tapetsariaphobia (fear of wallpaper)! Went into detail of why I find this home so sketchy in Ethan’s video, so I won’t repeat myself. Suffice it to say the riot of florals and the over-embellishment with applied moldings indicate the current decor is an over-the-top remodel. The clincher is the truncated capitals on the pilasters surrounding the front door - never would have happened if they were original to the house. Oh, and although it does open cans as well, that is actually a built in food processor - one would mount a blender jar on that fitting on the bottom - quite the gadget in its day.
Wow, what a house! The wall paper is a bit much but you have to think of when and what era it was built and lived in, as you said someone chose this look. I noticed you said this is not really the type of house you like to explore; what are your preferred styles? What about a top 10 of your favorite explores? Keep them coming, love the way you present your videos!
Mr. Noah. Awesome explore! This house is one of a kind. Room across from the kitchen in the hallway with the sink is a butler's pantry. Also, what on earth was the room used for just off the sun room (white linoleum floor)? Any ideas? Looked like it would have held a Jacuzzi or indoor pool?
yes this definitely70s If you grew up in the 70s you would understand I'm surprise it didn't have any shag carpet 70s was a cool time for us kids who grew up in that era I've seen this before another you tuber shared it i hate seeing beautiful homes just sitting there decaying and being torn down for another house or sub division We also would usually have matching furniture to match the wall paper it would be a color to go with that theme I could tell the Kitchen was remodeled to more like 90 style 70swould of looked something like he brady bunch kitchen witch is what some of us had great find my favorite house that i've seen so far Thanks for sharing
My dad would have called this all gaudy. We have that exact kind of sink in the basement except ours is pink. I am curious how the mold is starting and where the moisture is coming from and that one room with the decay where the ceiling is peeling.
I’m at least hoping that some of the trim work, fixtures, and mantles can be saved and salvaged if nothing else. Just have an open house week like a pick and pull scrapyard before demolition and charge a flat fee for each item
All that wallpaper stayed on the walls all this time! I'm impressed it's not peeling anywhere. Well done to whoever applied it.
There are so many amazing retro features, I hope they’re salvaged before it’s demolished! What a shame!
I love this house. Just the way it is!
Someone truly loved this home.the attention to detail and the time that took....wow.brought tears to my eyes thinking this one of a kind character of a house would be demolished just to put more look alike homes....

Waves of nostalgia unfold.

That space in the wall that you opened and shut is ,or was,for a T.V....Neat!
I think they should fix that up and sell it like it is people would pay good money for a house like that
Beautiful absolutely beautiful! What a shame that someone had to demolish it.
I loved it! Wallpaper and everything!
Love this place! I'd lived there in a heart beat!
I'd live there. Fix the issues and I'd live there. With the wall paper etc. Lol
House of a thousand wall sconces! I love all the wallpaper- wish it would come back in style. These people were rich. Sorry it’s being demolished.
Wallpaper IS coming back.
For me, I will never have wallpaper since I spent too much time and effort removing it. Hard job!
Wallpaper was a sign of wealth
Yes indeed
The design factor, even all the wall paper, was very beautifully designed. It reminds me of a roaring twenties kinda place lol
It's not a can opener. It's like a built in food processor. Or blender.
It is a coffered ceiling.

I really liked the room with the shelving
Oh wow I LOVE every detail especially the wallpapers
I love this house
I love all the detail work in this house. The wallpaper is a bit much but its a very cool house. Too bad it's destined to be demolished.
The details are great but the wallpapers a bit much for me also
It is insane to demolish this place.
This place is in good condition! Sad to demolish it.it’s clean .
Someone had taken great pride in fitting that wallpaper. A lot of very painstaking aligning has taken place there. I think it is possible the lady of the house did it herself. Or at least ordered it.
So many beautiful homes with character being tore down for cheap builds!! wish people could save them!!😔
I really enjoyed the tour with the Decati garage. Beautiful home! Hate the thought of it being demoed.....
I love all those happy, warm colors everywhere!! That place certainly isn't boring. Great place! Thanks for sharing this! 😊

really nice house what a shame! a few updates and it would be perfect
This was a cool place in its day. Great explore... really enjoyed it ...thank you 💜
Nice find, beautiful woodwork, very majestic, to bad they are demolishing it
I am so surprised also, how small their kitchen was...compared to how huge the other rooms are.

Super classy house Noah. Love all the lighting and the dope wood work. Thanks so much for sharing your awesome explore 😃👍
Oh and the wash room with outside access maybe in case you have a hit outside you have a very quick way inside for relief 😃😃
@@jdexploresfan3628 The washroom with outside access is what would be called a mudroom nowadays. That looked a little too fancy for a mudroom though.
That is a shame they are going to demo that house. Even though its aged, its beautiful inside.
I love the lemon yellow paint.
Love the house, but first 2 rooms I loved. Thank you for sharing 😊
i'd live in it and have it restored. Psychedelic and turbulent, just like the decade it was built.
