That filter is just for taste, but doesn't purify. There are some filters specifically for camping and emergency, that can filter swamp water and make it safe to drink. But unless it's specifically rated for that and from a reputable manufacturer, it's not safe.
Quiang & Don I would highly recommend going to Poland. Cracow( Krakow) is a city where kings used to reside, very nice atmosphere, lots of restaurants. Nice people. Gdańsk by Baltic Sea is also very nice. The best time of a year would be the summer months: June, July, or August. Have fun traveling Europe!
I made a custom Water Filter for my trip to Cuba. I can filter 10 L of water gravity feed through a Sawyer mini Water Filter. Never had any issues with the tapwater in Havana and Playa Baracoa. I just gravity feed into a couple of large filtered water bottles that I purchased right off the get-go we drank that water, and then started filtering our own and they also had a couple large yeti cups with me. I brought my own ice trays, and made ice from the filtered water. Sawyer makes a good product but they squeeze bags suck so I just made a gravity feed system using Jose and a bag from Katadyn water filters. They have the good hose and the bag. The bag has a threaded hole out the bottom you use a lid for a Nalgene water bottle to seal it up just drill a hole through the water, bottle lid and fasten a hardware store nylon nipple through the lid. I just used gorilla glue you could heat it up and melt the two materials together. Do anything to seal it up I’m not scared of the chemicals and gorilla glue. It’s on the dirty side of the filter anyway. You just need to backwash the Sawyer mini filter once in a while so you have to save some filtered water to do the backwash. It’s best to backwash the filter out onto a hot piece of concrete in the middle of the day to get rid of any viruses or bacteria during the backwashing. There’s a few videos on UA-cam about this Sawyer filter, but not with the Katadyn bag. The whole set up fits in a small size men’s shave kit very compact.
I did a month-long ayurvedic yoga retreat in Sri Lanka. During my time there, I visited Sigiriya. Very impressive place. The locals recommended that I start my climb up early to catch up he sunrise from the top. If you do that, then remember to back track towards the entry path before going all the way to the exit. That way you can get photos from ground that you might ssed, because it was dark. Also, the best photos are always going to be done footage.
I loved my time in Sri Lanka!! The people there are very kind. It is very beautiful and relaxing. I spent time in Colombo, Kandy, Haputale, Demodara and Ella. I definitely plan to return to explore the beaches in the south and the greenery and nature of the north. Good choice!
Have been living in north America for 30 years, Vietnamese coffee is my top choice but like you said the cup is too small, not enough to get through a day.
A suggestion for you…. Have you been to Qatar? Might be and option for you to check it out for a couple weeks before Turkey. Very Safe place, clean. I just moved here for work. I understand it to be like a mini Dubai. Could be an option for you before it gets too hot and giver Turkey some time to warm up… lol
so, let me get this right- Your saying you can pour the tap water (from malaysia, thailand, etc.)directly into that filter pitcher device (you bought on shopee)- and then drink it?.. I thought you have to boil the water in malaysia for 5 minutes FIRST, and let it cool down, before drinking? Yes? No?.. Now , I'm confused.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you both. From Iloilo City in the Philippines, where you had just visited. Thank you for visiting our city, Ilollo City. Our big annual festival - the ILOILO DINAGYANG FESTIVAL 2024 - will be held on the 3rd week of January, 2024. Our Dept of Tourism of the Philippines has declared it the Best Tourism Event in the Philippines. Wish you both can come over to enjoy the spectacle.
What a beautiful woman! Been watching all your videos for last two months. Have been to VN twice in last 5 years: Have both US & local friends in Hanoi so looking to settle retirement in somewhere in north: Maybe Da Nang or ?: Your suggestion?
When in Sri Lanka please tell us how long expats can stay(visa options) and what retiring there would look like. Of particular interest to me is can a foreigner own property? Thanks in advance

Merry Christmas and a safe Happy New Year! 👍🤙
Happy new year to both of you
For me to not refill my coffee as often, I use a Large Bowl. About ¾ of a pot of coffee. Or I just drink from the coffee maker pot.😉

You're right. They didn't say what kind of filter it is, so we have to conclude that it's not safe.
