This was watched by A LOT more people than WrestleMania V thanks to pizza places recognizing the Warrior Hulk main event as the draw it was, and giving the event away for free to HORDES of people. You didn't even have to buy anything. Just come on in and watch the event for free. It was a big deal back then. No pizza places around me carried WrestleMania V or SummerSlam 89'. Believe me I tried them all. Almost all of the ones around me had WrestleMania VI packed in completely. So Warrior/Hulk WAS the bigger draw. Much BIGGER. They were like wall-to-wall packed with people into the entire event. I was there. Too bad you guys on the inside somehow missed that?
I do remember watching an old WCW/NWA tape (Great American bash 1989) where of all people, Jim Ross was on commentary and he was talking about Sting (who was wrestling The Great Muta for their TV title) being in a former tag team and having done considerably better than his former partner since then. At that time (July 23, 1989), Sting's former partner was chasing Rick Rude for the WWF Intercontinental Championship having lost it to him at Wrestlemania V three months earlier and would win the title back just 5 weeks later at SummerSlam. He would also win the WWF World title 3 months before Sting won the NWA World title.
Jim Ross has held a grudge against Warrior since the UWF owing to the fact a young Warrior backed Bill Watts against a wall and made him a bitch in front of the locker room.
1:04:55 not that it matters, but Steve Allen was actually married to Jayne Meadows (Audrey's sister) Love listening to the show, only recently started binging it on the google machine.

Yea I understand that. Watching Austin vs rock as a kid I thought their feud was real. Even now when I watch back at some of their segments I feel a tension between them, which made it special.
Tyson vs Hogan would have been huge back then and we didn't have social media that's what makes the old days better if you didn't catch everything on tv or read the magazines you would hear it from your friends in school or people in the street I had my VCR recording everything everything was must see tv
Toronto is the unheralded Mecca of 80s WWF. It’s not sexy to say because it’s a Canadian city, where most Americans, who desperately need to cling on to an identity , refused to purchase PPVs that weren’t Amurican but there’s no way Boston or New York could house 60,000 for Hogan Orndorff and return 9 days later and put 14,000 people in a Maple Leaf Gardens house show. And let’s not forget that Wrestlemania 3 was staged in Detroit because it was a border city when you didn’t need a passport to drive over the border. The icing on the cake was how loyal Toronto was at Wrestlemania 18 booing the The Rock out of the building and it could have been a stone Cold or Jesus Christ and it would have played out the same.
@@kurtvanderbogarde8402 Huh? I never knew that but they did have a brief feud around that time so I wouldn't doubt it. Thanks for the info, I'll have to look that up!
Well sounds like a lot of boys were jealous of Warriors success. Hulk Hogan had dominated the 80s and wanted to take a break. A lot of guys in the locker room wanted the success that Ultimate Warrior had in the year 1990. At the time not many people had pay per view and plus it was on at 4PM in the afternoon which was pretty early. Ultimate Warrior went 9 months as WWE Champion. The front office loved Hulk as the man and once he took off for his childs birth (assuming Brooke), sounds like certain guys a la Ted Dibiase thought everything went to hell. Plus it didnt help that Ultimate Warrior went into mania as the WWF Interconential Champion. He needed to give up his belt for the story to make sense. I dont think Hogan would job twice to the Warrior hence no rematch in WWF. its always been a feeling that the only reason Ultimate Warrior went to WCW was to soothe Hogans damn ego. If you believe his POV, he didnt want to job to Warrior.
I'm so fucking sick of Warrior fanboys. Warrior sucked in the ring, was an asshole in real life, had no respect for wrestling and his gimmick had a short shelf-life. In a way it was lucky (for him) he was such a jerk and kept walking out of obligations b/c if he had tried to maintain that gimmick for a long period of time it would've gone completely stale and he wouldn't have been able to con various promotions into giving him lots of cash.
Joseph Boza I remember it being at 4pm and THANK GOD, cuz for some reason my step dad didn’t want us out after 7pm, but he relented and let us stay til 8 (we watched at a friends house).
@@MusicvidsetcThat's funny because I am sick of coming across triple chinned pudgy fuck internet marks trying to shit on Warrior. 1: According to over two dozen people who worked with Warrior he wasn't an asshole. 2: He was a massive draw, second biggest in history so clearly his skills and gimmick were top notch. 3: "Short shelf life." Funny considering he returned in 1996 and drew the biggest numbers out of both promotions and in 1998 his return outdrew both promotions. That's called staying power. 4: He never backed out of a single obligation. He did however stand up for himself against McMahon and McMahon's bullshit. Cry about it.

There is an old Frank Sinatra Song called something gotta give where the lyrics say "When an irresistible force such as you Meets an old immovable object like me" I think monsoon had a gimmick where he would sing Italian songs before he wrestled. I would think that's where he got it from
Bruce claims the mixed tag wasn’t the first one in wwe history bc they had been doing the match on the house show circuit all summer . So they had been doing the match for six months already. Conrad either didn’t notice or let it slide, but summer house shows would be happening for the 6 months AFTER this show, not before

I believe they made mention of that when goulet came out to sing and that he was singing Canada's anthem to their Ali v Spinks... Not 100% on that, but at very least if it wasn't said outright someone -most likely Vince himself- was definitely thinking that
Jesse the body comments about Tito Santana wasn’t racist but Roddy Piper doing Blackface was definitely racist which is why peacock streaming network won’t air that match on the network that match is removed from Wrestlemania 6
I can see how Hogan would have thought dropping the title to Warrior to film a movie with Christopher Lloyd, who was hot after the Back to the Future trilogy was a good idea. Considering No Holds Barred grossed over 16 million, I can see how maybe they thought they could get about 30 million? Unfortunately, Warrior is unfairly buried in his victory over a miscalculated misadventure by Hogan.
I just can’t believe this.... as grown middle aged man... I get “Warrior “ never drawed But my childhood was based around Hulk Hogan and warrior was the secondary crazy uncle taking over wrestling... that was super cool When pay per view came up my little mind was blow. I don’t care to hear it didn’t draw ... it’s gem of my childhood
Announcement for the house...10,000 in attendance. Monsoon says I think its 12,000. Monsoon is saying that the show was so popular that people were sneaking in
Belzer never stated it was fake although his attitude and mannerisms were extremely disrespectful to Hulk and T. He asked to be put in a hold with a snicker
When it came out that it was "The Ultimate Challenge" ... you knew Warrior was winning it. It had his name in it. Obvious really. And as for the ring carts that were used at WM3 and WM6 ... there was a scissor lift cart in Detroit because Hulk's cart actually rose up above the crowd so everyone could see him posing as he was leaving after beating André.
Conrad, reading from Hogan's book; you says Hogan took the belt from referee Hebner to hand to Warrior spite the referee is supposed to. Because Im now going to get back what he is going to take from me.....Wait a minute. If thats his thought process; then he pushed jealousy with the WCW Halloween Havoc match. Because that was supposed to be getting the win back.
AM.gaming and cards Abdul-muhyee he should have been. Ted was a world class wrestler and Warrior was a horrible wrestler who couldn’t draw flies to shit.

Robert Goulet is a crooner--a song stylist, interpreting song hits from his generation's youth. When he (like Judy Garland) strayed into more modern Top 40 he tanked so bad they started to call him "Sherman". Sherman . . . It's called a book, people. Read one.
Short memories you guys have. "Octagon" (1980) was a top Martial Arts action movie. As always, you borrowed something "hot" from pop culture to make your product seem more "hip" and relevant. That's where the Octagon comes from. And you are quite welcome . . .now . . . where's my Wendy's with double meat, double cheese, double onions . . .
"Actually guys" guy has arrived! And just like actually guy does, he had to prove he knew more than everyone else about the SINGLE dumbest point of the entire video.
The dumbest part of every video is its comments section. "Oh-you didn't KNOW that?" And thanks for your contribution to the dumbest. Can you hear the chant from the crowd, man? "One of us! One of us!"
Utter bullshit on Bruce’s comments about UW on the Arsenio Hall show. Yeah UW was a dick, but Bruce has so much bitterness towards the man that he can’t bring himself to say when he did anything good. UW on AH was great.
And hey, I'm sure it's not as dramatic as people will make this out to be (your comment) but you're pretty much right on the money about that in retrospect. Especially given the exit of Andre's tenure and Hulk going out with the loss which was unheard of at the time. And 1990 was infact a year of changes to be sure.
There have been very few Manias with this kinda legendary Main Event, WM3, WM5&6, WM 8, then I can't think of anymore til Austin vs HBK, Rock vs Cena, Rock vs Hogan just to name a few more

what are nose bleed tickets yo
Tickets that are way up in the back of a venue where the performers look like ants.
1:20:47 the way he starts talking like Warrior is really funny lol
Lol my god , bruce and schiavone both hate meltzer with a passion
fish stix4u, Bischoff too.
fish stix4u - - - Eric hates him too.. Lols
@@JoeyMartz Prichard and ATM Eric are proven liars, conman and frauds, Dave has exposed them numerous times.
@@MattSingh1Eric Bischoff is none of the above and the only thing Meltzer has exposed is himself to his boyfriend Bryan Alvarez.
We have many happy listers. After Bruce's Impression of Vince intro. Me and the homies. Yes you do. That was great
Goulet was a crooner. Goulet sang the national anthem at the Ali vs Spinks fight
I believe they made mention of that when goulet came out to sing and that he was singing Canada's anthem to their Ali v Spinks... Not 100% on that, but at very least if it wasn't said outright someone -most likely Vince himself- was definitely thinking that
I prefer to call him by meng....it fit him so much better then haku legit bad ass also.
Haku or Meng, the dude is legend and loved forever
That TShirt promo makes me want to buy every single one listed. Love me some Darsow!!! .... or however you spell it
lol I loved THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR!... as a kid... I fell for the complete illusion and loved it:)
Me too. I desperately wanted him to win the WWF title from Savage at Summerslam 92. I was 9 at the time. Great memories.
This was a good episode
Dave Meltzer was the janitor 🪠🚽🪣🧹
Jesse the body comments about Tito Santana wasn’t racist but Roddy Piper doing Blackface was definitely racist which is why peacock streaming network won’t air that match on the network that match is removed from Wrestlemania 6
The story that starts at 1:43:15 and ends with the Vince impression 😂😂
I can see how Hogan would have thought dropping the title to Warrior to film a movie with Christopher Lloyd, who was hot after the Back to the Future trilogy was a good idea. Considering No Holds Barred grossed over 16 million, I can see how maybe they thought they could get about 30 million? Unfortunately, Warrior is unfairly buried in his victory over a miscalculated misadventure by Hogan.
I get so tired of everyone saying Warrior had no wrestling game. Watch WrestleMania 7. Schooled!
That match was what it was because of macho man.
Macho had a bad back during that match carrying Jim everywhere!
I just can’t believe this.... as grown middle aged man...
I get “Warrior “ never drawed
But my childhood was based around Hulk Hogan and warrior was the secondary crazy uncle taking over wrestling... that was super cool
When pay per view came up my little mind was blow. I don’t care to hear it didn’t draw ... it’s gem of my childhood
Don't believe everything you hear regarding Warrior, especially from Prichard. Warrior is the second biggest draw in the history of the business.
That Smash impression tho
Warrior vs Bravo sounds terrible. No wonder it didnt draw
Does Conrad think everything is a rib?
Announcement for the house...10,000 in attendance. Monsoon says I think its 12,000. Monsoon is saying that the show was so popular that people were sneaking in
No, pretty sure bobby said the F word 3 or 4 times. He also said it on WCW with Brian Pillman.
I wonder if prichard watched warrior on regis and kathy lee. he actually acted like himself and not the warrior character
You sure that wasnt Kerry von Erich?
Conrad, reading from Hogan's book; you says Hogan took the belt from referee Hebner to hand to Warrior spite the referee is supposed to. Because Im now going to get back what he is going to take from me.....Wait a minute. If thats his thought process; then he pushed jealousy with the WCW Halloween Havoc match. Because that was supposed to be getting the win back.
I was there!
Does anyone else have a feeling ted dibiase a jealous hater when comes to warrior
AM.gaming and cards Abdul-muhyee he should have been. Ted was a world class wrestler and Warrior was a horrible wrestler who couldn’t draw flies to shit.
Steve A yea it’s a show warrior was better showman Iam a fan of ted but come on reverse the roles no way
I've seen some interviews where Ted talked about Warrior and the problems I think he had with Warrior was with his behavior and disrespectful manner toward the business.
Scott Hall kicks like Perfect and Rock too
Many wrestlers use Hennig ingredients, but nobody as Perfect as him tho
The Hogan match on Superstars was against Bravo, not Quake... jeez conrad.... jeez
stfu smark!
Back to the dungeon, kiddo
You realise the thumbnail reads "So Mething To Wres" #PoorlyChosenLogo

Unstoppable force vs immovable object is Aristotelian
irresistible force.
Lmao that warrior impersonation where you can't understand wtf is being said for the first few seconds... yup thats spot on

"One of us! One of us!"
"double meat, double cheese, double onion MOTHERFUCKER!"😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
EXTRA MAYO...Motherfuckerssss!!
So, moral of the story is: BRET IS THE GOAT!
Gorilla and bobby all day long. You don’t even need to ask that question!!
Warrior impression was pretty awesome too lol
Bruce is fuckin hilerious! those impressions!!! lol
21:07-21:19
Also, IDK which Jake The Snake WM promo to watch; Conrad didn't suggest a particular one enough times to make sure I was paying attention.
Fun Fact: Conrad Thompson Deep Fries his hand before he bites his Fingernails.
Utter bullshit on Bruce’s comments about UW on the Arsenio Hall show. Yeah UW was a dick, but Bruce has so much bitterness towards the man that he can’t bring himself to say when he did anything good. UW on AH was great.
Wrestlemania 6, the day the 'Golden Age' of wrestling died.
I would've said '93 or 94 was...
Iii
I live you
There have been very few Manias with this kinda legendary Main Event, WM3, WM5&6, WM 8, then I can't think of anymore til Austin vs HBK, Rock vs Cena, Rock vs Hogan just to name a few more
Austin rock…. I’d put hart hbk there… last one I’d say as a now casual is rock cent…. Does lesner reigns fit the bill??
Beefcake is a gay bottom.
The Warrior was already blown up by the time he reached the ring. Great look. Zero cardio.
