So I just started reading ISOM number 1 and I'm at the club part that you talked about. The way you talked about it on your podcast indicated that you thought the main character was the real bad guy starting crap for no reason and it isn't very clear that ISOM has powers. You really miss represented the work. And I encourage people to go read it for your self. While so far. I think the comic is just fine. It's not the greatest thing ever. It's just average. So far. The club scene( if you read between the lines and read the actual lines) The guy in the white suit who admits to being a criminal and clearly has a negative history with our hero. He forces ISOM to sit and chat with him by using a bunch of goons and then basically tells our hero(looking for the girl). Yeah she's fine bro, trust me. She's an adult. Stop looking into it. This guy who is clearly up to know good, with a bunch of goons and an admitted criminal tells ISOM. Yeah don't look for this girl your looking for. Shes and adult and fine. Just trust me. Yeah I wouldn't listen either. When white suit guy is done threatening ISOM to stop looking. He tries to get a big goon to toss ISOM out. Which doesn't work because ISOM has super strength(pretty obvious). So yeah. People should not trust you. Because you clearly miss represented/ miss understood what is a very simple story. That I think is just fine so far. But you are trying to make out to be the worst thing ever.

I had initially given you and Dick the benefit of the doubt, maybe it really was this bad and I agree that there is a level of bias for him in his friend group. Maybe they just didn't rip into it as hard as you wanted? I don't know. I do know that I think the book is fine. I think the art is pretty decent, though I caught some weird things. I think some of the names are strange and I'm not crazy about all the conversations. I think the setting may bother you. If you aren't into a world that has a grounded world with sups. Alongside a world with hell dimensions. But that's the setting. I did think standing on the blood discs was dumb lol. Btw I have finished both issues since. Overall I feel genuinely intrigued about where this universe/characters could go.

If people want a good black comic hero, I always recommend Cage. It's fantastic.
Cage AKA Powerman, is basically ISOM. Essentially, Eric stole the character and wrote crap around it (and renaming of course ).

Unless you're saying it's a ripoff because they are both black guys with super strength. The ones I listed are mostly white.

What seems very evident to me is that July built his little empire _here_ using the "'Tuber drama" format that _the algorithm_ fell in love with about eight years ago (and has been shamelessly dry-humping to this day). The whole #ComicsGate cadre kind of teamed up to milk this cow, and it paid quite well just through the production of caustic video _content._ But, as their targets of the moment clashed with others actually in the business, team-ups happened and several of these oppor'Tubeists realized that they could mine their audience's salt directly by creating overpriced comic-book product and marketing it here. They even attracted some other wannabe comic-creators just looking for a rub, at first (that kind of went South after they rebuffed Vox Day's advances).
That's never been and never will be their bread and butter, though.
Rather, anything that can be turned into fodder for the video vitriol is an opportunity, to the point of sometimes ridiculous transparency. Now it provides advertising for the merch, too. Why would they ever address things in a low-key, mature fashion? There's no benefit in doing that.
Now that they've given you this spotlight. I guess they like you, or at least think you can make money together.

Print media is almost done. Mainstream comic books are on life support. Marvel and DC are being supported by billion dollar corporations. I want independent writer's and artist to figure out a way for print comics to continue to exist after the mega corporation's cut costs and close Marvel and DC. I hoped that July would be one of the people who helped keep comics going. Apparently he's not built for that kind of pressure. He's too busy trying to win pointless arguments.
