@@saltwaterfishinguniversityshe is back in Edenton getting the punchlist finished up, we will be taking her back up to NJ the week of the 23rd if you want to do a ride video/walk through on her.
When I first started fishing at NC coast over 10 years ago I was using a 24' bay boat, I sat near the boat ramp waiting for deep-V boats to launch and asked them which inlet they were going out of and asked if I could follow them. They were always willing to help, now I can do the same for anyone that ask.
God I love albermarles. Obviously coming up for the tournaments. It's funny cause I don't mind Oregon inlet as much as some others I here in NJ. Either end of LBI is horrific on some days. My last 4 trips to the canyon have been out of Hereford which is unmarked and the channel is literally only 5ft. I mostly use Absecon in AC which is a total lamb.
@MadLudwig back in the 90s Little Egg was horrific. When Tuckers Island was still separate it would cause the main channel past F bouy to get shoaled up. Now you can't even try to approach from the south. You gotta stay a good ways offshore or you are on almost dry sand. I saw a 40ft Viking completely high and dry on that bar few months ago. The easiest is to cut around the end of LBI and shoot NE and avoid the channel but it's only good if you are going north 😆. I hate fishing the BHMTC White Marlin tournament anymore because of it.
Channel is marked, but the current moves the sand. The approach from inside is better now with the dredge working. I was most concerned with breakers on the bar, where to stage to wait and time the sets etc. But it turned out to be flat. Better safe than sorry. 12 hours prior was nasty on the bar
Good job capt. You need to come on home the speck bite has picked up the last week with cooler water north of dividing creek.
Thank you guys again for the help
@@uron3rdstreet Thrilled to see such a beautiful boat on her maiden voyage!

@@mulletoutdooradventures6286 I agree. We ran Little Egg and Barnegat Inlet for decades. Oregon is not bad compared to them.

I'm curious, do the charts not show the channel? And are there not channel marker buoys/dayboards?
