@@BygoneT Sorry I should've specified in the video. It doesn't really matter, when Ultimate ASI Loader gets an update, it's usually just for additional game support as far as I know. Just download whatever the latest version is and forget about it once installed.
@@TJGM Hm, ok, just as a note I followed every other step perfectly, the only difference being I used the 5.0 version now available and the rest of the mods simply didn't work. I could do a quick test by replacing only the asi loader tomorrow and let you know how it goes, I'm out of juice for the day 🤣, It took me a while to figure put the problem and it made my stream a bit problematic, but the guide itself is so good even my 12 year old self couldn't have misunderstood. Love the work you put in, I even joined the discord. The attention to detail and explanation, even showing the page as you download is what sells it to a noob like me. Thank you again.

Been thinking of doing this I have the rockstar copy I have a high end pc scared to download all this stuff due to malware etc. The game is unplayable I loose mouse control 💀

Thank you! The next episode will be the longest and will include a deep dive into Modloader and all of the games file types. I've been thinking about more guides. I think I'll do III/VC in the future, kinda similar to this, but not as in-depth. The SA guide can be used as a base and people can watch this first as it is the most complicated, then work down to the III/VC guides. As for IV/V, I'm not too sure. IV is getting some exciting new mods in the future though and it will change how we install mods in that game, so I might cover that with a guide.

I myslef never modded SA because it was way too complicated and the game by itlsef is still the best game ever, but with your help I can finally do it. Also: I checked the torrent site we have in my country since like 2004 (edit:2005) and still today the number one downloaded game is SA, of course :) and a personal anecdote: when SA came out and my friend gave it to me to try I was like "meh" while installing because I thought new games at that time were improving so much and thought this will be just an average game for some unknown reason. Well, biggest and best surprise in my life. I cannot wait to get this working hopefully tomorrow, and I am excited like a child again :D thank you so much again!

A lot has changed since I played SA-MP in 2009-12. As I used a pirated copy at that time I never had any issue with the mouse or other glitches with downgrading to 1.0. Maybe the cracked version was fixed in some way or another.
I couldn't find a way to play with quality, but you've been doing an excellent job, thank you very much for all the attention dedicated to helping others, and still being very informative, in addition to the tutorial it's a great lesson, thank you very much and a big hug from Brazil.

Thank you! This guide doesn't cover controller support because people ALWAYS mess up their controllers with third party software and not everyone has a controller to follow along. If you follow this guide completely, at the end search for a mod called GInput. This adds full controller support to the game, install it the way the mod tells you too. :)

Thanks for the great guide! If people are having trouble with ASI Loader "Unable to load CLEO.asi Error:5", I wold recommend downloading and using Cleo 4.4 and not v5 since its still in alpha and its having some problems. Also CLEO 5 is getting detected as a Trojan Virus by Kaspersky and others.
32:26 That's how gta sa looked with the disc scratched up on ps2 in my childhood💀. Like the world stop loading and the textures looked all funky like that lol.
I was about to start complaining about the asi loader not functioning till I reinstalled it, turns out my copy of the game (pirated) replaced the modded vorbisFile with the one from 2003, requiring me to reinstall it. When I did all of the essential mods you've recommended began functioning. Thanks for such an informative video!

hmmm, open limit adjuster... this might affect dyom's limitations, i figured out that adding 10-20 large objects can crash the game depending on where your character is currently placed, limit adjust should fix the crashes, only problem is other people have to install it when they play my missions

Hello brother, I have a little issue with the Modloader. I am doing exactly as you are explain in the video, however when I start the game, the files that supposed to appear doesn't. I gave all the permissions to the folder of the game, to the Modloader folder but still without appear me the files that I need. What should I do? Did I skip a step? Thank you bro.
Ok, this will be my last ditch effort. I've followed the tutorial to the letter, except for one part, as soon as I download the ultimate ASI loader that you recommend the game simply doesn't open. No error message, nothing. And before you ask, yes I've downloaded the correct version. Still doesn't work, when I use the version that comes with CLEO the game works, but then no mods work, with the exception of the ones in this video. All of the others from future videos don't work. If anyone knows how to fix this issue would appreciate the help.

Hello TJMG, excellent tutorial, you have no idea how much it has helped me, I only have one question, set 512 streaming memory in open limit adjustet as you said, but the mods: improved streaming and mixsets also ask to set a number for streaming memory, so number Should I put those mods, the same number that I put in Open limit adjuster?
Its been a minute since you've uploaded, but I'm having trouble installing widescreen fix and silent patch into their respective "Widescreen Fix" and "SilentPatch" folders. when installed into folders in "modloader", the game doesn't start, and when installed onto "scripts", the game doesn't detect the mods. any advice/help? I'm on a steamdeck but I've followed all your instructions, save for downgrading version 1.01 to work when playing in gaming mode.
Hmm, for some reason, when I instal this latest Silent Patch, the game is just refusing to open, but when I have an older version, it loads just fine...
there is some shadow flickers and bicycle wobble like the scene after finishing the first mission and cj and the homies go back to the grove you see smoke and cj wobble left and right its kinda

I ran into this and had to reinstall a few times. Ultimately, I learned I had a version 1.01 that was not the Hoodlum 1.0 version you need to get it to work with mods. If you check TJGM's channel he has a way to downgrade the DVD version to 1.00 that worked with my copy. I did that and then those two modloader files wrote themselves to the proper folder and I got back on track. Hopefully that helps! And thank you so much for this guide TJGM :D
After installing and adding all essential mods the game was running fine..... Next day it shows an error "cannot find 1536x864x32 video mode" So i search and got suggested to overide dpi in the properties of gta_sa.exe.... And it worked, will this setting be fine for modding?

@@TJGM Great ! The biggest issue with GTA IV is that the modding has been divided into different versions. Instead of focusing on one version like GTA Trilogy Classic, the modders have focused on different versions.
@@flametornado491 That seems to be changing now. I think a lot of modders are going to stick with the latest Steam version, which will hopefully be the last. Yes it has issues, but they're getting fixed and it should become the best version of the game to play/mod soon. But I agree, I've always avoided modding IV simply because of how messy it was to downgrade. Older versions had features missing in newer versions, but mods would only work with older versions. It never really felt like you were getting the full experience.
I saw in the silentpatch side that there is the GInputSA mod for controller support, so basically i just create a folder again in modloader "GInputSA" and put the .ini and .asi in there edit: it didn't work that easy, i just putted the ini and asi in the main folder of gta sa, and then you need also txd files for xbox360, ps3 and sixas, these have to go to the models folder
Sir, i used cleo version 5 first time. after quitting the game it gives a black screen with a written version at the bottom left corner. "cleo v5" and after that i had to start from the beginning again and installed version 4.
TJGM unfortunately I think now in 2024 modding on your tutorial I think is no longer working. Any chance you can provide a updated 2024 video? I tried each and every step no success I'm stuck on 1.0 with cleo only vanilla looking
@TJGM Well thanks for getting back! I can't find files for the parts I mentioned. I tell you this isn't as hard I felt from tutorial yet I found it hard, files you showed to download now don't exist to download. I'm also stuck getting a improvement to the San box world to even work on Direct 3.0 I loaded In my man cj was a ghost city and sand box were all gltiched out I ended up setting the whole aside so hopefully you can lead me to the working fix I'll join your discord for sure!
7:30 A quick sidenote to other people who may face this problem. I had to try twice before my game was able to load after installing ASI Loader. In my first attempt it kept freezing.

Hey, do you recommend framerate vigilante ? It seems to resolve a bunch of issues and allows you to play the game in 60fps. With fps limiter on, the game still runs at 60fps. It's weird but for some reason even with this mod installed, having your frame limiter off makes you not be able to zoom in our out while looking at the map. What do you think about it ?

I was about to start complaining about the asi loader not functioning till I reinstalled it, turns out my copy of the game (pirated) replaced the modded vorbisFile with the one from 2003, requiring me to reinstall it. When I did all of the essential mods you've recommended began functioning. Thanks for such an informative video!

hmmm, open limit adjuster... this might affect dyom's limitations, i figured out that adding 10-20 large objects can crash the game depending on where your character is currently placed, limit adjust should fix the crashes, only problem is other people have to install it when they play my missions

I gave all the permissions to the folder of the game, to the Modloader folder but still without appear me the files that I need. What should I do? Did I skip a step? Thank you bro.

Ok, this will be my last ditch effort. I've followed the tutorial to the letter, except for one part, as soon as I download the ultimate ASI loader that you recommend the game simply doesn't open. No error message, nothing. And before you ask, yes I've downloaded the correct version. Still doesn't work, when I use the version that comes with CLEO the game works, but then no mods work, with the exception of the ones in this video. All of the others from future videos don't work. If anyone knows how to fix this issue would appreciate the help.

Hello TJMG, excellent tutorial, you have no idea how much it has helped me, I only have one question, set 512 streaming memory in open limit adjustet as you said, but the mods: improved streaming and mixsets also ask to set a number for streaming memory, so number Should I put those mods, the same number that I put in Open limit adjuster?
Its been a minute since you've uploaded, but I'm having trouble installing widescreen fix and silent patch into their respective "Widescreen Fix" and "SilentPatch" folders. when installed into folders in "modloader", the game doesn't start, and when installed onto "scripts", the game doesn't detect the mods. any advice/help? I'm on a steamdeck but I've followed all your instructions, save for downgrading version 1.01 to work when playing in gaming mode.

there is some shadow flickers and bicycle wobble like the scene after finishing the first mission and cj and the homies go back to the grove you see smoke and cj wobble left and right its kinda

I ran into this and had to reinstall a few times. Ultimately, I learned I had a version 1.01 that was not the Hoodlum 1.0 version you need to get it to work with mods.
If you check TJGM's channel he has a way to downgrade the DVD version to 1.00 that worked with my copy. I did that and then those two modloader files wrote themselves to the proper folder and I got back on track.

After installing and adding all essential mods the game was running fine.....
Next day it shows an error
"cannot find 1536x864x32 video mode"
So i search and got suggested to overide dpi in the properties of gta_sa.exe....
And it worked, will this setting be fine for modding?

@@TJGM Great ! The biggest issue with GTA IV is that the modding has been divided into different versions. Instead of focusing on one version like GTA Trilogy Classic, the modders have focused on different versions.
@@flametornado491 That seems to be changing now. I think a lot of modders are going to stick with the latest Steam version, which will hopefully be the last.
Yes it has issues, but they're getting fixed and it should become the best version of the game to play/mod soon.
But I agree, I've always avoided modding IV simply because of how messy it was to downgrade. Older versions had features missing in newer versions, but mods would only work with older versions. It never really felt like you were getting the full experience.
I saw in the silentpatch side that there is the GInputSA mod for controller support, so basically i just create a folder again in modloader "GInputSA" and put the .ini and .asi in there

it didn't work that easy, i just putted the ini and asi in the main folder of gta sa, and then you need also txd files for xbox360, ps3 and sixas, these have to go to the models folder

Sir, i used cleo version 5 first time. after quitting the game it gives a black screen with a written version at the bottom left corner. "cleo v5" and after that i had to start from the beginning again and installed version 4.

@TJGM Well thanks for getting back! I can't find files for the parts I mentioned. I tell you this isn't as hard I felt from tutorial yet I found it hard, files you showed to download now don't exist to download. I'm also stuck getting a improvement to the San box world to even work on Direct 3.0 I loaded In my man cj was a ghost city and sand box were all gltiched out I ended up setting the whole aside so hopefully you can lead me to the working fix I'll join your discord for sure!

7:30 A quick sidenote to other people who may face this problem. I had to try twice before my game was able to load after installing ASI Loader. In my first attempt it kept freezing.

Hey, do you recommend framerate vigilante ? It seems to resolve a bunch of issues and allows you to play the game in 60fps. With fps limiter on, the game still runs at 60fps. It's weird but for some reason even with this mod installed, having your frame limiter off makes you not be able to zoom in our out while looking at the map. What do you think about it ?
