Hi there! I love your videos so much, I am trying to learn to make jewelry because my boyfriend is a stone setter. I was wondering if I am making this ring for an emerald cut stone, I can follow up the steps up until we are revoling the bezel around 360 degrees. The emerald cut is obviously not a circle, so I would I project the bezel around the stone?
Very cool! If you want something similar to this method, you would right-click on the revolve tool...that will activate the *rail revolve tool*. You would use the gem's outline as the rail. I think you might get better results if you slightly fillet the corners of the gem's outline first.
@@webduncetv Wow that worked fantastic! Your tutorials are seriously so helpful I feel like I have learned so much in such a short period of time. I would love to see a tutorial maybe for a stone set in a signet ring? I have this hexagonal sapphire I would love to set in a signet ring with a bezel but that seems a bit out of my skill set right now.
Glad that worked! You can contact me outside of youtube and give me more specifics about the project (the hexagonal gem) and maybe I can make a tutorial about it (no guarantees about if or when, tho). ua-cam.com/video/bhadwrxAF0c/v-deo.html
That is extremely kind of you. Under my videos you should see a "Thanks" button for donations via UA-cam. You can probably use various payment methods for that. I also just signed up for a ko-fi page you can donate via paypal there (ko-fi.com/webduncetv). Or, if you contact me outside of youtube, I can give you my personal paypal. So there's three ways
I am using your free kit but i am having a problem with material. I wanted to try to use the Ruby Stylized for the gem but the program gives me an error on the material says "the file peppermint_poerplant2_1k.hdr was not found". There is a way to fix it? If i will do well with the free probably i'll buy the premium plug-in, thank you in advance :)
I'm sorry about that. I will try to fix this and release a new version of the kit as soon as I can and I will let you know when it is available. It works on my computer so I didn't know it had this problem. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
By the way, while I'm working on this, I wonder if you could do me a favor and make sure you have the latest service release of Rhino installed. To check that, click on Help > Check for Updates and then on the window that pops up, click "Check Now." This will open an internet browser where you will see a white page. If you have the latest service release, it will say "Your installation is the newest available." If you don't, it will have a download link so you can download the latest service release. You click on it to download and then open the file to install it. It will need to restart Rhino, so be sure to save any work you have. It's just that sometimes I've seen people update to the latest service release, and my kit starts working for them without me changing anything. But, to be clear, this is optional. So only do it if you want to.
I followed this tutorial to start practicing, it was soo good, keep up the good content bro! Thank you for this :)

OK, I've just uploaded version 2.58. I think I've got this issue fixed. Let me know how it goes!
Where is the link to the gemstone?
My apologies. I forgot to put the link in the description. It is there now, though.
