To me, this song sounds like it’s about a desire to repair a broken relationship. The line “Looking like that, you’ll open some wounds” makes me think of an ex that every time I see a photo of her or someone talks about her, the hurt of missing her comes back just a little at a time. So to me, this song is about trying to tell that person that you miss them, you want them back, and you are with them to the end. 💛

My boyfriend dedicated this song to me, at the very beginning of our relationship.. when I was insecure, confused and healing from a past abusive relationship. Having him send me this link and saying “this is how I feel about you” it was the first time I felt truly loved, thank you Vance joy for creating a song that allowed me to believe in love again.
In the future, I hope to have this as my boyfriends and mines wedding song, because it’s so meaningful to us. ❤️

I think there aren't too many better songwriters out there. A voice and guitar is all James needs to capture attention. Little Boy is an excellent song, but This one is phenomenal. A South African concert would sell out immediately.

@@avaantikalazar9036 late response, but no it doesn’t. Ukulele and guitar strings are much different. The picking pattern might be the same but you will absolutely have to change the strings.
