This is my second Xavier Foley recording tonight.... The phrasing and fluidity of technique just blows me away. Love your playing, thank you for posting this. This inspires me to practice my own instrument....
He plays his music and i love it
So much music here. So much fun to watch!
Thank you!
Love this interpretation!! The contrast between the lovely softness and the energetic passion is so so good
Braaavo!!! Amazing, as always!!!
Fantastic.
the King!!!
Fantástico 👏👏👏👏
Toca muito,bela execução. 🇧🇷
The most authentic version I have ever heard! Bravo!
I have always loved this piece, but never heard it with bass before. Schubert's special gift for intimate the musical duo and Foley's musicianship and extraordinary technique really combine to fabulous effect here. Just wonderful. Has he recorded this per chance?
You are GREAT
bravo Maestro Xavier Foley!!!
Bravi!!!!
Man this piece sounds amazing on bass! I love how rich the low notes are.
Dear Xavier, all your videos are really dope! Respect, man! I love your sensitive, warm and musical approach! The only concern I have as a pianist is that I don’t see the face of the accompanist which is a pity cuz any collaboration with piano is a duo between two equal partners, however in this video it’s kinda dissected; I would prefer to see the communication if you know what I mean (I myself am a pianist, that’s why I has to say this haha, sorry)
I wasn't the one who recorded it but i feel your pain! :)
Is your bass in solo tuning? I want to play this for a solo competition, but i can't afford the music, lol. I learned "Stillness" and a small portion of "Irish Fantasy" by ear, and watching you play, so I figured i could do it with this too, lol. Love you, bro.❤
SO GOOOOOD
This is just amazing! What's the key to play with that technic?
I'm gonna find correct words and sentences then I'll edit my comment.
You are a very good bass player but...this is not jazz o something similar. Phrasing is related to the composer and historical period of the composition. Is not good improvide many things only because we feel necessity to do it. This is fantastic on the jazz and improvisation generally. This is Schubert my friend... And also when you play Bach. To many strange things, too many. In any case compliments for your ability on bass.
lol what?
This is Music Giancarlo , no it’s important if he play like jazz musician or classic the important thing is that he play with love...and I can feel that.
The people that think like you usually be a boring people and don’t make sense what do you think about music.
The Music have to be vibes in the air and not only notes that you play because they’re in the score...
Try to open a little bit more your mind
He does not play like a jazz musician at all. Sounds like he has been schooled at the very best classical institutions possible, then studying the piece very deeply and made it his own. That's called personality. I'm sure Schubert would have loved it.
@@SoundLiaison and he has. Xavier has been taught by some of the best bass pedagogues of this age.
Stunning and exquisite phrasing - wonderful bow technique! Beautiful music - I could not stop listening.
