I have noticed a couple of times that the very edge of your pour facing 'us' but directly opposite you is sometimes missing a little paint, but if you don't actually walk around to the other (our) side (or rotate it), you don't see it... I am a potter, and when throwing I often position a mirror on the far side of the piece I'm working on, and I'm thinking this might be helpful to you in seeing the far side of the piece you're working on...so you can see whether the paint has completely covered the edge, without having to walk all the way around (and block the camera's view!) to check. A dressing-table mirror which you can turn to the angle you need is ideal!
Karen I’m so glad I came across this video #10 I watch you all the time and I think your work is so beautiful and flawless, I used the same pouring medium as you because I wanted to make this clock. I’m so excited to say it turned out perfect and it’s because of you. I love your videos and you inspire me with every piece you do. I just wanted you to know that. 😎👍💜
Sharon Quast Sure! After I resin it I peel off the painters tape off the back, and if it looks ok I’ll just lightly sand. If messy I’ll cover with stiff felt cut to size in a matching color.
G'day Karen, I'm in Australia and we don't have minwax. Is that what you meant when you said you use a polyacrylic as a barrier before resining. I am having an awful time trying to get the silicone out and have damaged several paintings doing so. If it is Minwax I will try and order some from the states. Thank you and stay safe. xx
f1refly Hi. It’s an ArtResin brand torch that came with a kit I bought from Amazon. I really like it as the flame is adjustable and you don’t have to hold the button in to keep the flame going. -K
Nice colors and I'm actually getting ready to pour my first clock soon for a birthday gift so this was helpful. I love those cells Karen.
Beautiful results! Thanks for sharing!
