That's my favorite album of all time!!! You can literally listen to it front to back without skipping any songs... I'm glad I was able to meet Pac when I was 15 years old. He came to the old Cincinnati Convention Center with N2Deep, Spice 1 & Too Short during his Thug Life Tour. I got to meet all of them at one time, because my dad and 2 of my uncles had a security company and they did security for all the celebrities when they came to Cincinnati. I miss those days. 🙏🏾💯💪🏾✊🏾

I met Tupac a few years ago outside the airport in Cuba. He was playing a banjo and a ukulele. I told him I knew he was still alive and dapped him up. He laughed and asked me what my favorite song of his was. I told him Me Against the World and he agreed. He then offered to go emu-back riding in New Zealand but I declined.
That song stuck in my head throughout my childhood. It was very tough times for my family and fr this song brought some light though the music video was gloomy/dark. Shoutout to Scarface on the track too

For those fans and rappers who say Tupac wasn't a 'lyricist' don't understand what lyricism means. Pac's first verse on 'Still I Rise' is one of the greatest verses ever written. "Somebody wake me, I'm dreaming, I started as a seed of semen, Swimming upstream, planted in the womb while screaming, On the top was my pops, my mama screaming stop, From a single drop this is what they got..." The amount of skill that takes to put those words together and make you visualise what he's talking about is extraordinary. To add, you could feel Pac emotionally and I think that's why people brush over his lyrical ability because they're more focused on how the music touched their soul. It's almost as if the other stuff didn't matter.
Can't believe someone picked up on that. That verse seals the deal as the most complex, but simple, poetic, paint a picture for you with deep meaning and emotions I've ever heard in my life. For those fans and rappers who say Tupac wasn't a 'lyricist' don't understand what lyricism means. Pac's first verse on 'Still I Rise' is one of the greatest verses ever written.

From a single drop this is what they got..." The amount of skill that takes to put those words together and make you visualise what he's talking about is extraordinary. To add, you could feel Pac emotionally and I think that's why people brush over his lyrical ability because they're more focused on how the music touched their soul. It's almost as if the other stuff didn't matter.

For the most part, people who say that just mean that Pac wasn't a lyricist like Biggie, Em, Jay, Black Thought, Talib Kwalib, Big Pun, etc.. I've never rewound a Pac verse for his catchy wordplay. When I rewind a Pac verse or an entire song is because that ish struck a chord, pulled on a heart string, and yanked on my soul. That's what poets do, and that's what 2 Pac was - a poet. That was his strength.
