a really nice video, well made and put, and the new case looks lit bro. Btw to make the switches sound better try lubing them with krytox 205g0 or any lube you find, it'll make the keyboard way better than it already is
Thanks mate🔥, I have krytox laying around Will try it on my new switches soon. But this keyboard is non hot-swappable so I would need to desolder them right ?
@@M0diKB yea bro you need to desolder it, but there's a lazier method which only requires you to remove the keycaps and push down each switch, then apply a layer on all sides, this still would sound really good but not as good as desoldering and lubing the switches properly, this is a really good alternative if u dont wanna spend so much time and desolder the switches, anyways keep it up broskie. Hope this helps

Hey, I have two questions.
1. Did you have problems with the capacitors on the back? I saw a few posts on Reddit mentioning you have to drill holes into the case to make it fit.
2. You mentioned in another comment you had to drill a hole to make the cable fit. I saw another post on Reddit saying this wouldn’t be an issue since you can move the position of the whole in the case. Did that not work for you?
I can answer both you’re questions in 1. I drilled the hole at the cable hole because I didn’t drill holes for the capacitors if you do that the cable will fit because you can indeed move the usb c hole🔥
Hey do you think the Tofu60 redux acrylic would be compatible with the apex pro mini, (I know the tofu60 redux would be but does that also go for the acrylic version as well?)
I don’t know if you could drill in it without it breaking and still get it to look nice then yes 🔥🔥
How did you take off the pcb and plate that easily mine feels like something is still screwed in even tho it isnt. I took all of the screws
It should come of pretty easy, but maybe try and help yourself by using a screwdriver or something to loosen it a bit so that it will come loose. Don’t force it to hard though 🔥

I don’t think you can desolder that since is not a mechanical switch is a magnetic switch.However Just asking, are you able to put on the screws through the PCB to the tofu case? And is the type c hole fitting through the tofu60 case?
Ohh you’re right didn’t think of that, I did put the screws in just didn’t put them all the way in so it’s will not force anything. And for the usb c hole I drilled the hole so that it would fit 🔥

where the holes should be made to fit the PCB?
If you want the capacitors to fit you should measure it and the holes will Ben in the bottom of the case, I just made the usb-c hole bigger and didn’t screw the pcb all the way in 🔥
Yoo everybody said that the apex pro mini wasn't customizable now i know and hope soon do it to mine but i don't know where you put the crew driver cuz i can't see the little screws is the keyboard and could you tell me if i could lube the keyboard? thx amazing build btw!
I don’t know if you will be able to lube the keyboard, I think the only way will be to lube them without taking the switches out. And for the screws, I didn’t put them in tot the max because I didn’t want to risk bending the pcb just put them in so that it’s holding the pcb in its place without moving, hope this helps🔥

Yeah you have to take a special option with this build but I don’t think you can buy a compatible version of the tofu. I made it fit by myself 🔥

you could measure where the capacitors on the back of the pcb are, and then make holes in the case, I just made the usb hole bigger so that the pcb can be a bit lifted in the case 🔥🔥🔥

Yeah I love the keyboard so thought why not make this a nice build, just be carefull that not all cases Will fit with this board because of the 2 metal things on the back of the pcb

Some kb cases have cut outs for the metal cilinders on the back of the apex pro you just have to looo if it is compatible with the apex pro

I would like to do the samething, except I want to remove the control keys/switches on either side, to resemble an HHKB layout. Do you think this is possible without sacrificing looks?
This keyboard is non hot-swappable so to do this you would have to desolder the switches. This is of course possible, just some extra work. Besides that i think it will look nice and definitely is a very unique idea 🔥
Never build a HHKB myself but maybe in the future 🔥

Did you drill anything and if you did how did you do it because I am new to this stuff and want to mod my apex pro mini. Does that case need to be drilled or can I just swap the motherboard and use the mods and I'll be fine? Also what tape should I use to mod. Thanks
If you want to make a custom of the apex pro you will have to drill if you are using this case. Maybe you can try finding a case you like that is compatible with this pcb. I drilled the usb port and it is also an option to drill the spot where te cilinders go

What is the screw driver needed to open I can’t find it anywhere
I believe it has torx screws but I got a screwdriver set with all of the different heads. And if you buy a new case with the same screws you will get a mini screwdriver just like with the tofu 🔥

Hi mate, the rubber in this video comes with the case. Usually if you buy a nice case it Will have Some sort of rubber or foam, but if you want to buy loose ones I saw Some on AliExpress for just 4 dollars or so

It’s called tapemod, you can use it to make the sound of your keyboard a bit nicer 🔥
@@M0diKB okay I thought it was for protection purposes, I was thinking about doing this to my apex pro, would you know if lubing the switches is possible for omni 2?
it usually makes the board sound a bit deeper, I think lubing the switches would be fine you would just have to desolder them. Very interested in the sound 🔥
