    I am an editor by trade. I have no idea what the word "'Dupe"" means in this context or what it is doing in your title. My educated guess is that most viewers won't understand it either. Food for thought.

      As per a quick search on Google: “Short for duplicate, dupes are less-expensive alternatives to brand-name products”

      @@ivafurnitureflipsdiy Why not just say ""duplicate"" then?? The slangy nonsense is really offputting, and as I said, a lot of viewers will just check out rather than watch the video.

      dupe is a common term in the furniture refinishing world. Often inspiration comes from furniture offered by these popular retailers. The end result is not actually a duplicate. People looking at these videos are generally familiar with the term ‘dupe’. It is just part of the lingo. If someone is not familiar with the term dupe, they will be if they watch a few of these videos.
