- This is a fan-film based on the DC Elseworlds mini-series “Superman: Red Son” by Mark Millar.
Plot: An alien ship crash lands in the Soviet Union in the 1960s. Its technology is reverse-engineered, allowing the Soviet Union to become a futurist utopia, and the sole inhabitant of the ship grows up to become known as 'Red Leader'. But this Soviet superpower faces formidable opposition-both domestic and foreign.

Let's petition DC comics to make Superman : The Red Son a reality
Unfortunately, I think it's very unlikely that DC would make Superman: Red Son anytime soon. Not only will they will be focused on trying to build up their new primary Superman, but I think their Elseworlds Superman will be the version currently being developed by J.J. Abrams.
Why! Better just give these guys more money.

This camera work is better than most movies. Check out the new trailer for Tom welling and Alec baldwins movie. That has good acting but lacks cinematography.

This fan made film needs to be extended into a few hours long film if you think you will be able to work on that.
Hollywood level of age progression/old age age progression makeup special effects and/or Hollywood level of age progression/old age age progression cgi special effects.
My only criticism of this is that it was too short. This deserves to be feature length. Exceptionally well done.

Kantor is/was confirmed friend and ghost writer who helped Jerry Siegel on his comics including Superman.

Also I personally think that your imperfect Russian works Really well with theme of Red Son. As this Superman gets more and more involved with international scene and becomes more "alien" to his motherworld which should be place where his rocket landed instead of entire planet if comics twist is true for your version too. Also him being named Khal works even more.
In comics or cartoon there was similar point even with "normal" American Kryptonian one too.
In classic comics (even though objectively it isn't consistent writing) he went from saying "great Scott!" to "great Rao", in DCAU he went from red and blue suit similar to other superheroes like Batman to black and white with aesthetic elements close to costume of Jor-El in this version. In All-Star Superman per Grant Morrison it was also intent to show Clark going from small town teenager with super powers to more of an alien (his words, not mine).
I love this interpretation!
We need this full movie of 2.5 hours long. We need this now

cool movie, but it moved very slowly. Superman should've been in one of the first 3 scenes. 11mins is far too long to wait for the star. Always let fans know what they are in for right away. Opening scenes should be action-packed. In my opinion...
Thanks for the feedback. This was just an origin story, and we plan on making lots of follow-up installments with action scenes and much more Superman!

I wish you guys would also do fan film with "normal" Superman.
I like how you get Red Son Superman C curl, because in Russian Superman = Супермен.
But yeah, still. I'd like you guys do normal American one too. Or maybe bunch of them like Earth-2 original Kal-L, Earth-1 Kal-El, post-Crisis Kal-El. Especially if by exactly same guy but with different hairstyle and slight difference in design of suit or something.
I dislike (even though i should like since I am partly Russian) that only Superman Red Son has : comics that is written by One guy with character having beginning middle and the end of his journey (even though i Strongly dislike some of it, like idea of permanently shrunk Stalingrad, same way how I dislike Kandor in All-Star Superman, they are just stupid reductive ideas that make 0 "sense" even from make belief standpoint) , it has motion comics adaptation (ie as 1:1 as you can possibly get to adapt comics with voices), it has animated movie (that wasn't 1:1, which is alright since motion comics exist). And now it also has live action adaptation, even though it is fan made it is the one of VERY high quality.
And all of it is very well drawn or well filmed. I 100% love art style of all 3 issues of Red Son, of animated movie. Fan made live action has one of the best sets, actors, acting, costume design and setting that is similar to last live action "normal" Superman as in it isn't set in 1930s but in 2010s (or with 2010s aesthetic).
Now I can't say the same for normal Superman. The best and closest case of it is All-Star Superman. But it doesn't have motion comics (yet, TheRussian Comic Book Geek is about to fix it that) and not to mention it goes Tooo far from "normal" Superman comics ideas.
Meanwhile Red Son adapted some of Superman creators' ideas "officially" for the first time, like how his super senses kicked in and it freaked him out similar to Bill Dunn Superman from 1933 Reign of Super-man story (which is first time creators used "Superman" character even though he was evil and bald and only had temporary powers which were only mental ones nothing physical like strength or durability), in Red Son comics Superman is actually human from the future, which is what was true for The first ever Clark Kent - Superman in 1934 (back then everyone just weren't interested in idea of Superman, first "good" and bulletproof Superman was created in 1933 and likely didn't even have a name, just The Superman same way how Dr Occult is just that or original Aquaman). Or even idea of Superman using surgery to "cure" criminals from doing crime which is reference to Jor-L (not Superman dad, in fact by 1938 Superman's dad was nameless,only by 1939 he became Jor-L with son Kal-L and wife Lora) story in Federal Men comics in 1936, which also inspired Superman #162. Ironically all those ideas were probably advised by Grant Morrison too, i know that at least twist with future Earth was his idea, allegedly. I wasn't there.
I really appreciate the kind words! As far as our plans for the future and different versions of Superman, all I can say is that we are deviating from the Red Son comics a bit, and we've got lots of surprises in store :)

I am a huge Snyder fan, but I actually took inspiration from several Superman interpretations:
-The train scene paid homage to Superman 78'
-Lex Luthor was inspired by Action Comics 890
-The spaceship was inspired by the design from an unmade early-2000's movie called Superman: Flyby
-I wanted a Lois that looked similar to the ones in Superman & Lois and Smallville
-The clasps on the suit were inspired by Injustice
-The LexCorp logo, the suit texture and design, some frames during the flying takeoff scene, and some of the scientific components of the story were indeed inspired by Snyder
-HOWEVER, this portrayal of Superman was probably the most inspired by Routh. I wanted an introspective Superman who feels a profound sense of loneliness (something I wish to explore in further installments). Also, several of the shots floating in space were inspired by Superman Returns
But as a whole, this project was probably the most inspired by 'The Man in the High Castle', which has nothing to do with Superman! Hope you enjoyed it!

Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster -- the creators of Superman -- were both Jewish. Much of Superman's origin story was based on the story of Moses, which is why he was given the name 'Kal-El' (which was pronounced 'Kol-El' at the time). I wrote that line in there to pay homage to the creators.

dude I am Jewish, from Israel, trust me when I say I know my Hebrew and my bible. not sure where you got the KOL bit. Moses was sent away in the basket, that's the only similarity. Superman is an immigrant from another land, like Siegel & Shuster's families, they took the idea for superman from Nietzsche's "Ubermensch".
he his not "the voice of his people" like Moses was, he is not "the voice of god", he is though "god like" - all mighty
