thank you, they're a great way for me to express myself.... i enjoy talking at length about music and these videos should be a good outlet for me... everybody probably remembers the first time they heard Korn, so unique and it probably left an impression to anyone checking it out for the first time... cheers....
Korn is one of my favourite bands ever and its kinda strange because I don't love anyone else like them HOWEVER, no one is really like them either so I guess that makes sense haha.
Couldn't agree more. I actually talked to David very briefly years ago and I mentioned this to him... He said "yep, that's what everyone says"... Haha. He's right though. I still enjoy Korn, but I'll always go back to the first 3 albums.
There’s something so special about Korn with David Silveria. One of my influences as well, I got covers all over my channel lmao 😂 -but yeah. Why you might feel that way about the later Korn albums with David. Ever since Issues they told David to simplify his sound once the band started growing in popularity. J.D. actually came up with some of the parts on that record too (but I think only the interludes)
i read that as well about JD suggesting things to David... i even heard JD say in an interview once that the piccollo snare was something HE suggested to David... JD liked it because it reminded him of the sound from his marching band days i guess.... either way, i'm glad someone suggested that drum because it was a huge part of their sound.... not sure if you checked out Davids' other bands since Korn, i really enjoyed BIAS and watching a few of his other videos, but it since seems that he's completely disappeared from music... such a shame, but if he's happy then i completely understand.... i'll be sure to check out your covers as well, cheers my friend and i'll be tackling alot more songs from Korn in the future... i know alot... haha....
This is such a great video. I agree with everything you had to say. You said a lot that i've thought about over the years. I saw in an interview that he left because of a back injury issue which i had no idea about. He was just on fire back then. I think once issues hit around when his wrist injury happened some of the fire was diminishing. Maybe drugs and alcohol and just the grind taking effect. I feel like the same thing kinda happened with Joey. Like in the beginning he was just on fire. Holy shit lol. And then a few years goes by and it just isnt the same intensity/creativity. Still writing and playing good songs but that fire is just not the same.
thank you very much... i really enjoy doing deep dives on subjects so these videos are fun for me, and if you or someone else enjoys as well that's a bonus!! i talked extensively about Joey as well in another video of mine, and yes i think it's hard because once these guys feel like they've reached the top, maybe it's hard to stay motivated to continue the work in the same way... egos, money, fame, family, etc.... it all impacts you... the amazing thing about music is that it's a moment in time, it's forever captured on the medium and the great thing is that we can go back and visit those moments frozen in time and re-live all the great moments even those these guys aren't around anymore.... thanks for watching, and thanks for the encouraging words, i've got a lot of topics i'd like to talk about, so definitely more babble vids to come... cheers!!
My English has an amazing specie: I can understanding almost everything which u say (in my mind), but I would not be able to translate it into Russian. That is, I understand what you say, but I would not be able to answer you online, in a conversation, if we were talking in real life. Although... three or four mugs of beer... and my English may to be quite digestible for you. Once a time, in a bar at Mallorca, I drank 9 shots of B-52 with an Englishman, and he kept up with me, and after that we were quite able to have a full conversation.
totally spot on!! Eddie Vedder must have HATED Dave or something... he was so good in that band... also if you look back at magazines, Dave was so popular, he was in every ad for drum gear... a popular member of the band for sure....
@@JJDrumsChannel Dave released an awesome record with the Green Romance Orchestra after PJ but never did anything afterwards. It's such a shame.. watching Matt Cameron play those tunes is all kinds of wrong. There's no funkiness, no feel, it's just a human metronome.

@@JJDrumsChannel I remember people coming up to me trying to tell me about this new band Korn. 😆. They definitely tapped into something.

David’s beats in those first three albums are amazing. Korn still sounds good but man, nothing beats the first three.

Very unique, and what a powerhouse! I took alot of inspiration from him. The video makes it obvious I think. Haha.

Same thing with Dave Abruzzese and Pearl Jam. I. Still. Don't. Understand.
