Well, it's all a matter of tastes, and mine are different. I like all if your list that I'm familiar with, but not 10/10 like. In addition to Green Irish Tweed, I would consider the following Creeds 10/10: Bois du Portugal: the smoothest fragrance I know. What Frank Sinatra would wear on a date with Sophia Loren at a 5-star restaurant. Nuff said. Royal Oud: this the TRUE "fit for a King's coronation" REGAL fragrance. It literally smells like gold. Aventus: the modern masculine analogue to Chanel No. 5 in its first decade. Most influential masculine in history. I don't personally like the "pack of pencils, wood shavings, led tip and all" drydown so I personally rank it a bit lower, but objectively it MUST almost by definition be considered a masterpiece. EROLFA: The greatest true aquatic/oceanic scent ever. The natural ambergris gives the scent the olfactory equivalent of listening to the "sea" when you put your ear up to a sea shell. Salty Mediterranean sea spray in a bottle. I would also add Floris Elite and MDCI Invasion Barbare, and some designer frags as well (like Hermes Equipage, Dior Eau Sauvage EDT, Guerlain Vetiver, Ralph Lauren Polo, Tom Ford Beau de Jour) if the criteria were broadened. I have Chergui, and although I think it's good, it's not my favorite "sweet ambery tobacco" scent. Xerjoff Naxos and Aramis Tobacco Reserve win that prize. Good list, thanks.
I'm half expecting a Jubilation 50something as the next Amouage release. 😁 No complaints here. Still need to try Incense Rori, Orris Wakan and Vanilla Barka. Not expecting much, but keeping an open mind. ❤️

Hey Steven . It s Funny that you compare Red tobacco with some fragrances and not with carlisle. Several reviewers compare carlisle with Red tobacco and say that These have 90 % similarities. What s your opinion?
Alright, ill fill in seeing how its been 7 months. Lol. Red tobacco is harsh and very bold in comparison. A punch in the face. Its simple. Not as smooth throughout, and not as well blended. Also not as sweet. Albeit, excellent in it’s own unique way. I can definitely see how red tobacco is not for everybody, although i love the hell out of it, and wear it well. Personally I think RT suits older males better. There is nothing juvenile about it. Same could be said about Carlisle to an extent, but carlise is more flexible, not as serious, more versatile, and a bit younge feeling, and more appealing to the masses. I love them both.

These "challenging" fragrances are often a hit among hard-core elite Fragheads. I think that too often "challenging" equates to "smells bad", reduces wearability, and usially can't be considered a masterpiece. Maybe a masterpiece of "shelf art" but not as a wearable fragrance. For me, to be a true masterpiece, a fragrance must meet the first threshold requirement of being non-challengingly pleasant, and will fully achieve that 10/10 pinnacle if in addition it has deeper artistic merit.

Wow, jubilation for the "W" I ain't mad at cha. Out of the ones u picked that I've smelled I would've chosen creation-e. Love that one but I've been told I smell like an old woman lol
Im already out with number two. Red Tobacco is way over the point, it could have been good if it was smoothed out a lot. In my opinion this is just too sharp. A true masterpiece concerning the formulation (which almost nobody talks about) was Pure Malt by Thierry Mugler, or Dior Homme Parfum which is simply excellent. I never smelled Erba Pura but it gets compared to Kirke, which is a horrible synthetic fruit overload. Xerjoff only has one masterpiece which is Alexandria II. Of course this is all just my personal opinion. From Guerlain L'Instant pour homme edt not edp. From Prada Amber pour Homme. Chanel's Coromandel is a delicate masterpiece. Carbone de Balmain. Please make a video about fragrances that you think are totally overhyped, thanks.
I’d argue smell is subjective. Some could argue Dior Homme intense is the most perfectly version of that profile. Others would take pure Havanne over Malt arguing Malt might be too close to its name same. Stephen’s is but one take. I happen to agree on something others I haven’t tried. I’d also agree with you on the sharpness of Red Tobacco, but it’s really nice, in my opinion, when the sharp edges smooth out. Have you tried Musc Ravaguer? That’s a scent that people are split on. It can be a master piece, kind of boring or animalic garbage. Where do you fall on that one?
Hi Danny! The one time I tried Musc Ravageur on skin its deermusk blew me away. It was hard for me to smell anything but the musk, even though the drydown was good. I can see why people love it, but for my own taste it was too much. Maybe the new perfume from the same perfumer would be more my style. Uncut Gem was the name.
I love Carlisle and own it - but deep into the dry down it smells a little pasty, somewhat like paper glue. That is the on aspect of this scent that keeps me from scoring it higher than 8/10.
After Jeremy’s interview where he admitted to making lists just so he can link to Amazon and get paid for it, I seriously doubt the motives of any reviewer making lists these days.
@@iamlove5325 I do affiliate marketing as well, but it makes me a very small amount. The lists are honest, and I've been making top 10s for almost a decade!

I absolutely love Maurice's work, but this one is beyond enjoyable. This personal choice aside, as always a pure class, straight to the point video my friend ✌
I completely respect your take!
@@Redolessence the fact we can respect each other's takes on things, is what makes me a fan of yours my dude. Hope you're staying warm with the miserable weather ahead of us(I'm in Mi).
@1:58 L’ air du desert Moracain is “Moroccan desert air?” Heart= Le coeur! (Actual name of the fragrance)
Ah, yes. They are two different fragrances. One is called L'air du Desert Marocain and the other is Au Coeur du Desert.

Erba Pura,
Oud for greatness,

Thanks for sharing!
Red Tobacco has been reformulated and now is a shell of its former self - thankfully there are other alternatives to fill it’s shoes
Thank you for letting us know. I haven't tried the new formulations.
And your rite about chergie its color density has changed over the years I've owned mine...
I love Carlisle and own it - but deep into the dry down it smells a little pasty, somewhat like paper glue. That is the on aspect of this scent that keeps me from scoring it higher than 8/10.
Interesting. I get pachouli in the dry down.

*A real shame...*
*Not too many people, have gotten their noses on, or reviewed Erba Pura GOLD.* 🥇
That's a good point. That one doesn't get enough attention.
Unfortunately, I can’t stand Erba Pura.
Sorry about that. I know you're not alone.
After Jeremy’s interview where he admitted to making lists just so he can link to Amazon and get paid for it, I seriously doubt the motives of any reviewer making lists these days.
Hmm. That's interesting. I completely understand though.
@@Redolessence It is all about motives. Is it inspired or is it economical? A clever person would say “both,” but is it?
@@iamlove5325 I do affiliate marketing as well, but it makes me a very small amount. The lists are honest, and I've been making top 10s for almost a decade!
@@Redolessence Ok. I believe you. It is just that I have found myself to be disheartened by sellouts. Not you. But, people that receive free bottles and give a favorable review (age old manipulation) or people that review just to link to a site and make money. But, I believe you.
That’s exactly why I’ve stopped following Jeremy. Steven here seems very passionate about his work, whereas Jeremy sold his soul to giants like Amazon.
But they reformulated jubi......
