Cade plumbing has taken all the fun out of setting up a new reef tank, e.g., multiple trips to hardware store, cutting pipe to short, saying words your kids have never heard, getting purple primer on your fingers, spilling PVC glue on hardwood flour, etc. Good job Cade.
I'm setting up a new Cade 900 and ran across your setup videos. Really appreciate your ideas about how to finagle Cade's flex hose onto a Vectra M2 as that's my current issue; heading off soon to the hardware store for a little Christmas Eve plumbing. I'm fitting mostly Ecotech gear as well so will catch up on your vids to see how it all worked for you. Thanks for the detailed explanations and merry Xmas from the States!
All cade's have this system, it's actually not dangerous at all. The flow via the lower drain is very very low, if anything it is safer than a standard weir as it halves the flow across the two
@@TheeAiDiva have you heard of a fish getting stuck? I haven’t and I know a lot of people running cades. As mentioned above, the dual weir design actually valves the flow which if anything is safer for small fish than a single weir?
I’m curious how factory light mounts from Ecotech and Aqua Illumination can be installed with the lids in the back. It’s preventing the traditional clamp mechanism. Clean set up though but I’m wondering what options you can come up with besides hanging. Following along as usual.
One of the main things stopping me buying a cade was the fact I thought I would have to place wavemakers on the side of the tank (which are just a pain when it comes time to clean the glass), so I'm very excited to see how some ecotech wavemakers will work in the ato compartment. Well done on that idea 👏
Hello! Could you please tell me how the double overflow weir work? I suppose there's a vertical chamber behind them that seals the lower one off and sets the display tank water level with its height, right? Is there enough suction on the bottom?
I’m doing research to get into reefing. I’m terrified of leaks and overflows that would destroy my living room floor. Should I be worried? How has yours been doing?
Great set up video -can attest to your stated simplicity of build as I did the same this weekend - except I am going for a frag lagoon hybrid scape The build quality fit and finish is outstanding on this Cade - have a 1800 that is 8- months old and this frag tank has incremental improvements in the details. look forward to your
Hi champ, i value your opinion and was curious if you could tell me which tank you would recommend Cade reefer pro 2 Redsea Reefer Waterbox reefer I cant pull the trigger, please exclude cost on your opinion. Any guidance would be helpful
Hey George, whilst Al those tanks are awesome - I would lean towards the Cade as a stand alone, off the shelf system. The tank on all of those systems is great, but the stand, sump and power centre on the Cade puts it ahead. Oh and it’s already assembled - that’s a huge plus!
Could I keep a yellow coris wrasse in my 90 litre reef? The tank has 2 clowns, 1 purple fire fish and 1 bi colour blenny. If I got the wrasse small how long could I keep it for before upgrading?
I want to get back into the hobby and do a shallow reef lagoon style, i really like that cade design over the other brands just i would like it to be at least 400 or 450 ? To allow for a bit more rockwork/coral growth what do you think ?.I mean it could work at 350mm ? spose id like a bit more water for a tang to help with algae :P. To get a custom height done would it really blow out the costs much more i dunno. The problem is there is basically no Cade frag tanks on youtube or forums doing it that i can find. Thanks for your vids and replys.
hey mate! You can get custom made cade and the cost doesn't blow out all that much at all. The lead time may though :P If you are looking for space for tangs though, the extra height might be a benefit?
@@ParkersReef custom made Cade, that’s awesome I was looking at the frag for a shallow display too, do you think a 1500 but 18inch tall would be ok for a tang?
Waiting for my 1200 to arrive! I want to have necessary plumbing connector for return pump. Do you know what size is the flexible black return hose? And what size green hose did you substitute? Thanks for very helpful video!
Hey there, can you tell me the panel behind the weir is going all the way down to the bottom glass or is there a gap for the water to flow in the overflow chamber?
Great video, what's your thoughts with regards to a redundancy return pump, how hard would it be to drill an additional couple of holes on in separation glass and bottom? Return chamber looks rather small..!
I think they can improve the sump by making the filter socks removable for people who want to use a filter roller. Like having a removable baffle where there is a lip on one side for the filter sock tray to rest on.
Hey Parker! I made another comment on this video but it may have been to long. Not sure if it posted. Do you have a manual for this cade? I just got mine in but I can't get the tank flush with the stand
hey mate! I am not sure if it comes with a manual, but there is plenty of info on the Cade website? Be sure to join the CADE facebook groups too. That being said, there isn't a lot to it - perhaps the foam just needs to squish a little for it to sit square?
@@ParkersReef On the video where you either put the gear into the cade or the custom frag rack, you showed where you have the gate valve adjusted just to where the secondary overflow has a little bit trickling in. Is there a reason for doing that as opposed to having nothing going down the secondary overflow?
@@TheRealSnookie oh gotcha. Adjust to get the sound silent. I find having a little water go down the secondary is where it is perfect for my setup. But only like 2% of the total water

I'm thinking of getting one too but unfortunately CADE is not available in my country yet, only Waterbox. Thanks for the video. Will definitely follow this series!
Frag tanks are handy even before you main display is ready to cut frags. Having somewhere to sit new coral while you find a spot to put it is handy! I like to take a cut of it then for backup :) I like to bring water in from my main display to the Frag tank, but only one direction via auto water changes :)

@@ParkersReef Thanks! Then I wasn't far from the answer :) Is the suction force at the skimmimg slits also working as desired?
yes, perfectly
How was that sanking flex hose meant to go on? Does it just connect to a barbed pvc fitting?
Sanking flex is design to go straight onto pvc pipe
@@ParkersReef I finally got it on, the edge of the pvc pipe needs to be chamfered or it will mangle the ends of the flex hose.
