I have sent you a diagnostic harness and hope it helps with more repairs.
Thanks so much Lee! Whenever you need it back just shout
@@MoreFunMakingIt where is the link to the file for the printed clips?
@@jackobyuk forgot! I will sort that out in a few minutes. Sorry!

Link also in the description :D
@@MoreFunMakingIt thanks :)
So much nicer when you're not chasing intermittent faults round the place... 😁
Making the most of these easy ones! I have a tasty one on the bench right now. All soldered chips and nothing on dead test. Properly tricky!
Huzzah! The Commodore 64 lives again!
IT'S ALIVE!
Excellent video and work! Expensive parts but good thing you had spares. Why do a video like Adrian? If people like that they should watch his videos instead. Love the fun way you do them! Keep up the great work!
Thank you Rudy!
That's exactly what I thought too. But someone is always going to hate what you do. I don't really mind, just thought it was quite funny 😆
@@MoreFunMakingIt The thing is that if you made videos like Adrian's, the same troll(s) would accuse you of ripping him off. Adrian makes great Adrian-style repair videos, Lee makes the best MFMI-style repair videos. 👍
Ah, just ALL THE EXPENSIVE CHIPS knackered then. Cheers MOS 😳
May have been over voltage from a failed power supply too.
That's a good call. Probably the right one
@@Breakfast_of_Champions Probably a little from Column A and a little from Column B.
Nice one. I really enjoy the quick fix format videos, and it's not like there will ever be a shortage of broken C64s out there. 😄
Cheers! Glad you're enjoying it. Lots more like this to come!
VERY GOOD video!!! TY for your time making this content for us!!! I have heard of those clips, but this is the 1st time out of 100's of C64 repair videos that I've seen one. Now I have another thing I can use my Ender 3 pro v2 for! It just sits covered up to keep dust off of it.
Thank you Charlie! It's nice to be appreciated 😃
Another fabulous video, commenting for algorithm and appreciation purposes 👏🙌
Thank you Jonathan 😍
Good job on the clips. Have to try that sometime
Cheers! Nice easy fix. Got another one here with broken clips
Bravo! Another C64 back to life.
Woohoo! 😆
That's twice in 24hrs I've randomly seen Bruce Lee. Guess I should get off my arse and actually try the SMS port.
Classic! Curious how the console versions stack up...
Nice repair. sad both the SID and VIC-II were bad.
One of those worse case ones. Managed to find a replacement vic2 as well as the SID, so all good in the end!
Another good one!! I wish all my repairs would go this smoothly. I tend always to break something else along the way to give me more of a challenge.
I've had some real stinkers in the past so I'm probably due a few easy ones 🤣
And people created faults are always more interesting to work out than the naturally occurring faults.
Nice work bud. I recently revived one that had a purpleish screen and freezing and dead test was showing pla and vic2 good, but showing a whole row of ram bad. I knew (assumed) that it was the multiplexer which were both socketed in this board, but nothing else except vic ii. Changed multiplexer and boom. The right amount of bytes:) changed pla and got boot screen, but still purpleish. It was the vic ii . Then normal screen. Unfortunately the sid was bad too. Lol. Those vic ii can cause weird problems eh?
Its a nightmare when so many chips go bad. Not so bad when its someone else paying for it!
Great video!
Thank you Kazz! Glad you enjoyed it 😁
Muy bueno, buen trabajo.👍
Thank you! :D
What? No retrobrighting! I'm interested in what technique you think works best, here in the UK. Do we need a lightbox?
My lazy method is just shove it outside on a sunny day. Doesn't work quite as well on a C64, but fine for most jobs. I've not tried it myself yet but I hear very good things about vapour briting. A light box probably not that essential unless you have no outdoor space. Even in the winter the weak sun is going to be much stronger than a lamp. Plus I'm wary of the fumes so outdoors, for me is a must.
All just my opinion!
Nice trolling of the comment troll! The best way to do repairs is to do it your own way 😊.
Sometimes I just can't help myself 😆
YEET! 🤣🤣🤣
I'm old and got my youthisms mixed up 🤣
@@MoreFunMakingIt Hey, I'm old too and it is all good! I still laughed! Great video!
@@stevemcknelly5036 cheers Steve! It's good we can laugh at the youth of today 😆
Nice and all, but if someone does not have spares... that three chip cost $120 at least.
Thanks for watching!
VIC SID and PLA all fried? I bet you the original potted brick of death went boom and took them out. Wonder why there is a bodge on the power switch, did it cook a trace?
That's actually an interesting theory. I mean it taking out the trace. I've got another one on the bench right now that's got exactly the same bodge. I started to think it was factory!
It is kern*A*l.
Think Yew! 😁
