Streetfest this year was dead AF. I couldn't leave track once to go walk around but from all the videos i saw it looked like a basic MSA event. And for me personally on the drift side it's like the biggest final event of the year and no one came driving. I don't understand. People will constantly cry we never get to drift the oval then when you can drift the oval they sitting at home doing fuk all every year. Jan they will cry again we never get oval only spin pitch. There's just so much drag racing events and it's the same cars constantly. I feel they must perhaps start focusing on multi day festival style events where we can perhaps drive on the Friday and party and camp and then drive Saturday and then event ends that afternoon. That will make it more worth for people from across the country to come compete and bring some new flavor to the scene. People just don't come to Killarney and i don't get why not. Any event like Power Series even there will be no one there. But then you host the international rallycross and then the whole city will fork out for ridiculously priced tickets to thereafter cry on Facebook that they didn't know the cars are electric. The most entertaining thing about that event was the local rallycross anyway which again no one shows up for next event. Killarney is all we have here and people are just letting it go to waste.
i feel the reason that killarney (as a whole) doesnt feel the same anymore is because i think people dont really have as much of an interest in cars and stuff anymore compared to a while back. its honestly sad because what used to be such an inclusive culture is slowly dying out.
Sad reality yes but also it’s all very expensive for many and with the strict laws it can be tough too. People need to find the balance as well id rate
With all due respect to the owners of the track - A major easy-fix problem with Killarney is that while it's hot as balls outside and they're hosting a motorsports (heat generating event) they'll have two trailers where you can buy some hotdogs and a coke. Genkai had more catering & entertainment at their Japan Nights event in Dan's workshop than what the track owners are willing to allocate for a full day event. Besides the physical driving there is less than nothing else to do, so if you can't keep people entertained, why would you expect them to even come - nevermind pay for entry.. 30°+ outside and your car was the best place you had to go for a rest? Minimum effort = Minimal results.
Great video bro😎 I agree with you bro. Every event there doesn’t feel the same anymore

That’s mad!!!
Personally, I feel that the involvement of city of Cape Town and their rules and regulations is what’s killing it

Valid no doubt. Let’s start a hashtag or something like #horizoncapetown

Very true. It used to be accommodating to everyone. For the kids they had sections and there used to be more variety.
