Just called the C chord a triad in front of my guitar buddies and they took me out back and shot me in the head, I'm bleeding out and only have enough time to type out this senten
i've been playing guitar for 25 years and this is truly the coolest video I've seen about scales.....great job definitely...you actually demystified some stuff that many people struggle with, cause they sound/look pretty difficult or made in a way that they look so...schools really need guys like you...the best way of teaching and letting people enjoy...only people who master things are able to explain them in the simplest possible way...
Dude, English is not my main language and I've been having issues with Spanish content (which is my main language) because I don't found them entertaining enough. Yours videos are so much fun and enjoyable, and I can understand a bit more about music theory, and I love it. Thank you so much for mixing music with comedy, and a taste of shitpost. 💕
same in here like the romain numbers ...which sound weird somehow and it's so easy in fact...made to understand the tonal progression....third fourth fifith etc...in the video he completely demystified it in a cool way...schools need a guy like him.
Remember watching this when i was begginer don't undestand a single damn thing but now after 2 years progress i figured all things you said all by myself
Your approach is absolutely brilliant. You combine technicalities with silliness which the the IDEAL way for our brains to memorize seamlessly. Your teaching isn’t just great, it’s phenomenal.
this is like learning from the cool teacher at school and he actually makes stuff interesting, fun, and easy to understand while also still being on topic
It's kind blowing to me just how much application this one video has. I'm trying to teach myself guitar and every week or so I find myself coming back to watch this again because the concept I'm working on at the time somehow ties back to this again and again and again. Really rock solid video.
Literally way more helpful and informative than almost every other guitar theory video on UA-cam not to mention it barely just over three minutes amazing work man
Holy shit I wish I would’ve known this when I took high school choir. I’ve never in my life heard a better explanation of something I’ve struggled so long with. Like wtf thank you so much
What's really interesting was watching this video over and over and over again from day one of playing and after 10+ hours of playing. Every time you understand something better and connect it with other information! wonderful video!
Take your time, it will all come together one day. All you need is someone to sit down with you, take it all apart and slowly put every piece together, then it will click. Been there
@@Andrew-pv8oz i think when i watched this video it confused the shit out of me cause it explained all scales in general. i watched some other videos explaining singular scales and i have been learning those and i understand this a bit better now. thank you guys for reminding me i needed to stop procrastinating

been watching you on and off since 2020 and it always amazes how good your formatting is. every thing you said was correct, and easy to remember or correlate for beginners.
Dude I kinda get this. I’ve learned through tab and as I keep playing I’m picking some stuff up by ear and I noticed the chromatic scale through just some basic drills. But hearing you articulate it helps put things in perspective, thanks!
this single handedly helped me with visuals on the scales and how they work, i've never been able to understand it before. But music is a circle and time is an illusion was funny af but also true! Thank you for this video!

Thank you for making the circle of fifths theory linear, which makes more sense to me. It is an amazing light bulb moment. The Roman numeral note assignment now makes sense as well. Chords make more sense also. When a 3rd or a 5th is cited, I now know what that means. I am very pleased with this illustration! Thanks again, so much! BMW
This is legitimately one of the best music theory videos I've ever seen my entire freaking life. I don't even know how to actually play any instruments...yet.

As a guy who is musically illiterate, and who just fucks around and finds out what notes and chords work. This looks almost understandable compared to a lot of other "simplified" music theory videos, almost like I could learn, and then apply it or something.
This actually told me more than any other vid, every other vid either thinks you dont know a-g in the alphabet or thinks you already know everything and go into super advanced things
I'm a guy who never actually learned guitar but I know how to play some songs (I can play the last of us theme, the solos for Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd, Hurt by Johnny Cash, Through The Valley from the last of us, and Blackbird By The Beatles. And that's it. I know 7 chords by heart, A minor, D, C, Cmaj7, G, Em, E)). I recently wanted to try and actually learn the instrument because I want to try and write my own songs eventually, even if they're elementary. I didn't realize I needed this to write songs that actually sound pleasant. This video helped a lot.
This video is amazing and absolutely genius... And so are you ;) (P.S. There's a quote from a church leader of mine that I think applies really well to your method of explaining (just to further provide you with much deserved praise for this video) - "It is true intelligence for a man to take a subject that is mysterious and great in itself and to unfold and simplify it so that a child can understand it”)

Thanks so much. Been playing self taught for years with plenty of long breaks (years). I want to now learn theory to take the knowledge and leave the plateau. This was a huge help

The music as cooking correlation is pretty brilliant, actually.
They both have in common that they are a bit salty
@joe mama go back to your correlation's basement 😀
I heard Tosin Abasi give that analogy a while ago and it's pretty spot on. It takes music theory from a set of "rules" to a set of options.
