    Lembrou-me da maldição de Ondine.
“Ondine's curse is a mythical tale about an immortal water nymph who falls in love with a man, marries him, and has a child. In one version of the story, Ondine catches her husband sleeping with another woman and curses him to stay awake so she can control his breathing. The term "Ondine's curse" is also used to refer to a rare neurological disorder called congenital central hypoventilation syndrome (CCHS). CCHS is a sleep-related breathing disorder that causes ineffective breathing, apnea, or respiratory arrest during sleep. It can be congenital (CCHS) or acquired (ACHS) later in life, and it can be fatal if left untreated. People with CCHS lack the ability to regulate breathing unconsciously.
The term "Ondine's curse" was first used in 1962 by Severinghaus and Mitchell to describe the syndrome. They named it after the German legend, which was first published in 1811 by Friederich Heinrich Karl de la Motte, Baron Fouqué. However, some say that the story is often misquoted and misinterpreted, and that Ondine never actually cursed anyone.”
