Before you watch... who do you think is going to win this match up?
Who always wins?
440 challenger for the win
Vet
Vette
Tough call - heart is with the Vette, but head is saying Challenger
Thank you so much for not playing some stupid music while the cars are ripping down the track. Nothing sounds better than a screaming v-8. Great video as always.
No problem 👍
Recently did an Xtreme Experience track drive where I got to drive a 2021 Shelby GT500. While standing in line, listening to the glorious Lamborghinis, Ferrari, Porsches, etc., apparently someone in the line complained that there was no music. So the race hosts pulled out speakers and pointed them at the line of us waiting to drive, drowning out the cars with Eurobeat music. I have never felt so much hate.
Too bad he always replaces not playing "stupid music" with *stupid* 7th grade godless comments, accounting for why he still only has 41k subs.
@@DanKoning777 I enjoy the cheesey comments. Plus you can always just turn down the volume until the races start.
@@danielfritz8569 // I just mute it. I wish people knew how far our nation as fallen since 1960, and how it relates to what they complain about daily e.g. corruption, crime rates, irrational leadership decisions at all levels, rampant greed, pride, sensuality on/on. Most today are unaware that just 50+ yrs ago many tv shows [Leave It To Beaver], didn't show a toilet or married people w/o separate beds [Dick VanDyke etc]. So, what do todays tv shows, movies, media reflect about "todays American conscience" and what's seen on the news daily? America; a nation w/o Gods blessing.
Those two matched up extremely well!
definitely 👍
A school friend had a 70 Challenger RT 440 6pack 4 speed shaker hood. That's a rare car.
Great race...thought the Vette would win just because of the weight advantage...much respect to the Challenger for keeping it close!
This hands down was the best editing video you’ve ever produced. The comedy timing was perfect and hilarious. Thumbs up!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@CarsAndZebras - Dear Cars and Zebra….
Real talk 😎💪🏾
By far, C&Z is my favorite channel!!
The muscle cars are amazing but the commentary is off the charts funny.
BEST CHANNEL EVER!!
Yes I agree and was bummed when there wasn't commentary for about 6 months, so I was really glad when they started adding it again recently and always makes us laugh 🤣
Ok, I watched this a couple more times and I noticed that the announcer put a 396 in the vette?
HaHa... yep!
65 was the 1st year for a big block in Corvette and a 396 was used only for that year.
@@briandungan515 425 hp 396.
One year only for 396 Vettes , 1965. Then on to the 427’s
The challenger must be tired..or the 427 wasn't telling all that it has ...American Muscle is best..🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Purestock racing is just the best, so great to see these cars doing there thing
Wow, great match-up between two beautiful machine's. All my year's on this planet and never knew a Vette could be optioned with a vinyl top. Very nice! Awesome car's, but I own two Challenger's and I am a Mopar fan so the '70 RT get's to me the most, but that Vette is badass.
You don't need a crisis to own a Corvette (or a Trans Am). Just a smoking hot mullet.
I'll take either one or both. Preferably both.
Wow! An absolutely gorgeous, sleek, sexy, specimen of muscle car style and utter brute force vs a Corvette.
Corvette Nation !!!!!! Yeahhh baby !!! Lol, another great episode brother!!!
👍😁
Absolute best video's! 👍👍 Great race, cars, and history etc... Editing and jokes are all amazing! C&Z.. best!
Thanks for watching 😎
The 1969 Chevrolet Corvette is the nicest looking car ever 😍 created. A work of art 🎨.
The 1963 Corvette Stingray split rear window is the car to beat for looks. I think Ryan T. Thompson and myself may have opened a can of worms here.
@@sharonw2475 😀
I am a participant in the PSMCDR's, keep up the great coverage. I love the video and AUDIO at the big end.
Challenger driver is from my home town of Freeland, MI. Cool!!
Nice pairing. The vette was a little heavier than expected, but that all iron big block is heavy. I bought a 67 corvette 427/390 4-speed in 75. It had a blown engine. When I tore it down it had two snapped rods and the cam was in 4 pieces. The only thing reusable was the head castings.
Great Race Great Commentary! Any Corvette guys tell how hot rod Vettes don't blow out their Independent Rear Suspensions??
I think Vettes should not be in muscle cars drag, why? , cause Chevrolet never marketed the Vette as a muscle car, they were marketed as sports cars, Challenger was marketed as a pony car, should have been paired up with a mustang or Camaro, still love the camera shot down by the finish, hearing the cars roar by.👍👍👍💪💪
Muscle cars vs. Sports cars vs. Pony Cars. Who gives a flip?
Muscle car used to actually mean a midsized car with a big inch engine. Now it just means anything with a powerful engine. I suppose my motorhome qualifies as a muscle car these days.
Awesome , Thanks C&Z
A 427 corvette would shit all over that mopar 440 boat anchor
Goodday C & Z,
Mate you are just getting better with age. I was hoping for a rendition of Prince song " Little Red Corvette " somewhere in your video.
That was close quarter racing at its best. As I only have Mopar blood running through my veins, it is the old saying.
" Mopar or No Car ".
Great video, fantastic commentary.
Your number 1 Fan in Australia
Louis Kats from Melbourne Australia ☺ 👍 ❤
Didn’t even think about the Prince song! Next time
That was a good race..
It takes a Mopar to catch a Mop... oh, er, never mind...
You nearly had me this time. I have succeeded at NNN so far, and I'm still succeeding, but it was close. That Corvette side pipe, just, mmmmmmmm.
Mmmmmmm, side pipes! Those cars are pretty evenly matched, makes for some good racing.
Two very evenly matched cars. it seems to hace come down to the drivers. intresting that the Dodge hsd the faster trap speed every time. put "Mr. 4 speed" behind the wheel and it would be Mopar all the way.
Awww a good old fair race. It always took a big block plastic 2 seater mullet mobile to almost catch a mopar.
Haha, brutal
Or 396 Nova 🤷♂️
I dunno man, my 70 340 powered Cuda is kinda slow compared to the very mild Pontiacs I also own... but compared to chevys, stock for stock the mopars usually won. :)
Takes a Chevy to catch a Chevy! lol
Well, it wouldn’t be a true C&Z video without Hal1000. It’s too bad about the Dodge’s issue(spinning em?) at the launch of race 3. This race was more about the drivers as these cars were really evenly match with their gearing.
@#$%^^$$(^$#!! That was some good racing! Awesome cars. Definitely some nail biting races. The Challenger gave me goosebumps(yes, I'm Mopar). These guys play ROUGH! I love that. 👍
I came to watch a drag race, not hear bad jokes about relationship issues when I'm sitting right next to the person I'm having relationships issues with. Thanks for the exceedingly awkward moment. Can't even watch a drag race without the topic coming up...
You’re welcome! Always here to help!
Every time you crack a joke. It’s for real Austin Powers
Had comp orange Challenger for a couple of days - dash fire --- boy it dam near killed me a few times.... It was a badass car -- but in those days their was a lot of cars heavy modified for the weekend
What a race!!!
Heck of a tight race. Damn nice match up. I did see the Vette let off near the end on that last run, maybe didn't want to embarrass his buddy?
You could run that race 10 times and both of them win 5, just depending on the launch and the shifts.
I like the Corvette but I love 💕 the Challenger! Check out that MPH one the last Race of the Challenger, even with a slow start! Wow.
“Hey, did he say 4-speed?! AAAAAAAARRRGH!! LMAOROTF!! I’m dead. 😂😆
Good racing & funny guy talk heheh👍🤠🍗
I'd like to see the race that the 70 AMX ran that was behind these cars.
It’s been featured before, eventually we’ll have it again
And it's the Corvette for the big win
😂l the intro was grate
The reason the production #s were so low on 440 E bodies was because the marketing and ad fools at Mopar at the time neglected to even mention that the 440 4bbl was an option in R/T's in 70. Instead, they were pushing the 340 4V, and 440 6bbl cars. The fact that the feature car had the factory 440 4bbl with 4 speed and Super Trak Pak with tach and center console screams dealer special order. As for the Vette, I love factory side pipe cars! I believe that particular 427 was the last in line to get a hyd cam. And no, neither car was light but when u look at how portly the new challenger, Vette, and Mustang are, yeah, these 2 cars have visited Jenny Craig lol.
Great race.
Forget the comedy, just talk about the cars!
Love that typist ;-)
Damn good race
Keep it up kid love all your content!
Corvette 💯
Those trap speeds were kind of high for that era STOCK muscle cars. Something was up with those speeds.
Tuning and blueprinting makes a big difference.
We can read, heyuk!
Impressive 👍
I laughed when ya pre apologized for the 383 comment. You knew it was coming.
The announcer said twice the Vette had a 396.
Whats the difference between a cactus and a corvette? The cactus has tge pricks on the outside
The only way that mopar runs under 14 is if the vett was towing it
You really as stupid as you sound?
So the Challenger limped off the line on the last round but still ran almost 111 mph. So was he shifting differently? Why faster?
It's a Big Block Mopar, something probably Broke.
@@badass6.0powerstroke10 Yea that's probably it since that makes so much sense. Breaking always makes you go faster.
@@bw3506 I was joking. Thought he spun the tires on Last Race. That would explain higher Top Speed.
Higher Mopar top speed in second race.. it's not hooking up
Races were won (or lost) at the start, the Challenger driver just needs practice. Like both cars.

How Great was That ???
Challenger will win.
We'll see!
What happened?
With that 110-mph trap speed, the Challenger had the potential to win, but had a hard time hooking up. I'm guessing the Vette had better 60-ft times all three runs . . .
Wrong, it's just Another Loss for the Big Block Mopar Camp. Isn't nothing new, it's been trending like this for quite a while.
@@badass6.0powerstroke10 Man some of these Mopar guys just cant take a loss and have every excuse in the book, you think they would get used to it after a while. Waaaaah !!!
Dat car's not stock. MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
😎
makes no sense they ran way faster then when thy were new !!!!!!!! unless tires or GAS !
Vette is more aerodynamic to
You think that comes into play at these speeds you're slightly mistaken
@@GH-el9ch its not 60mph bud
A vinyl top on a vette? Yuck lol.. horrible looking haha
Agree...not a good look!
Ditto for those white-wall tires . . .
Heeeeeyyyyyy those cars aren’t stock…..sorry had to do it. 😂
That’s car’s not stock moooooooooooooooooooo
Sorry buuuut those cars aren't stock !!!
Them cars with good tires can run them speeds 440 puts out close to 500 torque I know it will outrun 5.7 charger caise i have a 74 dodge challenger 440
I don't watch the video's without the commentary.....boring
😆😆😂😂!!
