this shows how aegon can be easily manipulated if you know how to. larys used aegon’s insecurities of being seen as weak and malleable to induce suspicion and that way, manipulate him into firing otto and staying behind.
BUT He also actually teaches him "It does not matter who said it" (Knowing Aegon will do something rash) "What matters si that people says it" meaning that what he must do is give them another story...which is fundamentally true.

Larys acts a lot like Littlefinger in the books. I like how the show makers don't overstate this. He is pulling a lot of strings, but people do not realize it.

Here and there are signs that he could be a good ruler if he had been taught, I read of being pushed around by others. No one around him really cares about him, or his well-being. They are using him to advance their own interests. It’s a shame that the people behind the series decided to portray the blacks as “good” and the greens as “bad.” I wish we colloid have had a scene explaining that Viserys didn’t respect the laws of the realm when he forced his daughter to be his her, even though he had male children. At least we would be able to see that both sides had legitimate reasons to fight, instead of Aegon being portrayed as a usurper.

They don't need a scene to state the obvious... We already know how both the Greens and the Blacks feel about their respective positions. We already know the laws and traditions of Westeros. The point of a story is to show don't tell. I might be in the minority but I don't need everything spelled out for me. If this is how the majority of viewers are thinking then no wonder they keep complaining, they simply aren't smart enough to keep up and need someone to walk them through the story explaining the details to them because they can't figure it out themselves. Ambiguity and subtlety keep the story intriguing. Simple minded viewers are the bane of any decent story.

The dude is a master manipulator and he seems to undermine both sides, while simultaneously growing attached whenever he's shown the slightest praise. He has such self loathing that he's genuinely surprised to find anybody treating him well, but if they do, he's usually somewhat loyal to them (like Alicent).
Interesting because the guy playing Larys, Matthew Needham, played Napoleon’s brother in the recent Joaquine Phoenix movie. Haven’t heard good things about that movie, but interesting anyway.

Dude are you serious? Every episode Daemon had a more grand suit of armour. Possibly some of the coolest most intricate armour I’ve ever seen on screen, At least with daemon.

Only known suit of ValSteel armour is that of aegons. But I’m still reading the world of ice and fire and have yet to read fire and blood so I’ll take your word on this one I have no doubt the show has steered away from the look described by GRRM in the books for practical reasons. I still think they did pretty well. This armour does look extremely boring tho as does the current Kings guard suits in the series.
