Lol - I'm sitting here at 24 minutes in, thinking..."no kind of momentum going in??" Absolutely love it - very curious to see if you and the boys would change your tune at all if you'd seen the finish on Sunday. Thoughts?
@@peterfinchgolf I'm sure Rors appreciates the curse of pre-recorded podcasts really helping to push him over the finish line. Who knows where that 2 iron would have gone without it. 😁
Huh...He was tied for 3rd best score for the whole week. One random guy ran away from the rest of the field. But Rory was right in the mix. How did picking Rory not age well. Rory had a pretty good week....🤔
Saw you at the 1st mate today at Open. Junior + Colt member (now Heswall). So glad rough has grown + narrow fairways. Hopefully wind. Pros had it very easy last 2 Opens at The Royal.
Great podcast. Love the new guess the player format. Tried to give the drive a bit extra and caught it all wrong but lost it in the sun. Let my playing parters play up whilst looking for it and then heard a call of “it’s in the hole mate”. 😂
I was there on Sunday for the first practice day. If the wind blows like it that day, level par will be a good score. Great course but it needs the wind.
Kieran. Stay strong brother. Never let their collective fear wash over into your mind or heart. If you think the Scottish bloke could do it then he will appreciate that. Respect for your open opinion brother. And if they give you too much shit I'd be happy to bounce them.
Adam Scott was invited by butch harmon to play a money match with Ollie, duval, tiger, Adam. Practice round Skins match $ 100 a hole at St. Andrew s in 2000, Tiger pulled the trick on a par 3 on the old course not sure which one.
Being a bit critical, but there is a good bit of the video, after you've done the drone flyover and given us the quick overview of the hole, where you then start to go into more detail about the hole and the various hazards and what to watch for where it is quite obvious you four are all looking at images of what you're describing on various monitors but your viewers are only able to see the four of you talking. It'd be great if we could also still be getting the drone footage here so we can see what it is you're talking about.
Pete seems like such a genuine boss. Would love to work in that kind of environment. Everyone has the same interests and all just get on. I have been wondering Pete what’s that on your right wrist? I always see it in each of your videos and wondered what it was. Some kind of monitor I’d imagine?
Correct. And there's some renumbering gone on for everybody because of the new 17th. I used to caddy there for a couple of years back in the 1970s, the course is more or less the same as it was then (apart from the first, open 3rd, which used to be a 90 degree dog leg) until you get to the open 14th, members 12th. The next hole used to be a short par 3 which went in the opposite direction to the new open 17th. Then there was the long par 5, followed by the par 4, and now you get the new par 3. Once again, I think the angle may have been lessened a little for the open 18th - it used to be another 90 degree dog leg round the corner of the practice field, which was pretty much square. It's 50 years now since I caddied there, but I can still go round the 1970s layout in my mind, and see every hole. Oh, and there was a very nasty out of bounds right up against the left hand side of the Open 9th green, but that seems to have been another one of the alterations.
Di Doherty must be great to work with?..you’ll learn much from her Pete if that’s what you want to do more of…enjoyed the team challenge on Sunday although Rick will be unbearable now for his birdie on 17!
Hi Peter. This comment is too do with the game you just played at royal Liverpool with Eric from random golf where you beat him over 9 holes Matchplay. My comment is, I was trying to think of the word that describes Eric. Is it "Dickhead" or "Wanker". Maybe it's both? Glad you wiped his arse. Must say to, not a good advert for Takomo irons. Enjoyed your podcast Peter and boys and also your on course interviews with players at royal Liverpool. Noticed it was hard to get a word in with the other lady co-host being verbally challenging🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️. Lovely Lady, but needed to let others speak more often😊. Regards David from Perth West Australia (home of the ashes😁)
Okay can I just say, I loved this podcast, but one thing I would love to see change.. I don't like this pre-recorded intro of guess the player, it feels so out of place with the voice change etc.. I loved Kieran butcher his way through it before, and obviously it doesn't need to be a comedy bit with this intro, but just say it live in a few words and move on.. Hope this feedback makes it across 🙂Love the pod, watched every ep, keep up the amazing work, you guys are by far number 1!
😂😂 only person I could think of born as far back as 1912 was the correct answer so didn’t change after each answer for a hole in one!!! My best score by so far!
Yes this was filmed before the Scottish Open 😂
😂

Yeah... the comments about Rory aged like milk hahahaha. Unlucky big man! Loved it anyway.
Brian Harman and Tommy Fleetwood picks. Jut wow!👌
I love the full team's banter. Such great honesty!!! Super fun!
Watching this before The Open is such a treat. Now I can watch the broadcast and understand the shots in terms of course management much better.
@@Dionysos640 Bee bop boop. Your question does not compute.
First time I have seen this type of preview. Great format!
Getting me bloody excited Finchy.
Great coverage of what we can expect. Awesome work
Cheers Peter
So I guess this was recorded before Rory won the Scottish Open?? Would you change your picks because of that? I’d love to see Rory win!
Be interesting to know if anyone has ever won the Scottish and then the open. If not bodes even more against him.
@@TJ-ss1upPhil Mickleson in 2016

So...I'm guessing that the "no momentum" talk was filmed before the Scottish Open?
Yes sir 😂

Glad to see this on the main channel. Was wondering where it was on the Rough Cut channel!
I don't know how I forgot about the intro but it's gold every time. Well done, gents!
The Rory prediction didn't age well😂 (i.e no momentum)

It's just past 9pm here in Hawaii when this drops into my feed and I just have to stay up and watch it! 😁
Brilliant. Love an early morning video. Cheers pal
Stuck a few quid on Harmon to win because of your little stat segment! 110 to 1, cheers fellas!
Hook line and sinker you got me.
Looking pretty prophetic with Harman shooting that 65 today.
Can Jacob do the numbers on every tournament please? I wanna know the trends on the Barracuda.
Had to come back to shout out the Brian Harman call

Those Brian Harman and Tommy predictions are looking good at the moment
Gotta love the job titles Kieran is given on intro :D
Looking forward to seeing you at the Open on thursday and in Thurso in August!
Are you still getting a set of the Japanese irons? @peterfinchgolf ?
that theme song is epic... just saying...
Pete what was your score around royal Liverpool? I must have missed it
Yes! Lovely morning in Gran Canaria made better! Looking forward to this
Lucky boy!
Is there an actual golf video to come?
6'8" subscriber here. Crowds and concerts are never an issue. However train and plane seats are death. Gotta take the good with the bad.
Rory to make history 🏌♀⛳🍀
The wild bunkers you referred to are sand scrapes, which is where they are getting a lot of sand for the course to reduce carbon footprint
Geat vid , bit of a blip on the quiz , 1 , 1, 6 .... oops , guessed Bobby and was wrong ,
Good to see you doing tv with Sky. Coming across well.
Was really looking forward to a course vlog based on the title.
How far from Anfield stadium
I was there on Sunday for the first practice day.
If the wind blows like it that day, level par will be a good score.
Great course but it needs the wind.
Argh, had got Els in 2, Faldo in 1 and had Hogan in one but changed to Sarazen before going back to Hogan.
Great episode, guys! I got HIO last week (Sir Nick) and this week (Hogan). Pure guess this week tho to be fair
What did Pete shoot?
Holy crap! I got another hole in one. Pure luck, because he was born on my great grandmother's birthday!
Assuming this was filmed before the Scottish Open 😂😂😂

You could use SLIDO to make the guess the golfer interactive....
Thank Jacob!! Harman!! Winner winner chicken dinner
I actually think dechambeau is in with a shout
He seems to do well at courses with long rough he can hack out of and his short game isn't bad

Pete and EAL in the same group. Banter must’ve been priceless.
Odds on Mick getting a Brian Harman tattoo if he actually goes and wins it?

Ted Ray was NOT an American - he was British 1:28:15
Man I got a bogey, so I'm sitting at +1 overall. The known for his effortless swing is what gave it away for me.
At the time of the great Ben Hogan there was really some difficulty in getting to tournments abroad.

So…
Els on my 2nd shot
Faldo on my 3rd shot
Hogan on my first shot 🎉

How pissed off was Pete when he found out Rick was playing on sunday and not commentating? 😂
Rick could re-name his channel the average golfer if there wasn't one already. His golf round Hoylake was terrible.

The wild bunkers are completely out of keeping with the rest of the course. It just seems pretentious to me.
