I've climbed around that Franklin side. I've seen those big quartz ledges. Native Americans probably "mined" them for white quartz arrowheads. Those steel bars projecting upwards from the dam used to anchor a footbridge that crossed from Medway to Franklin, in late 1800's, early 1900's. It can be found online in old photographs.
