Have a 70 Nova SS I’ve owned since 1972. Getting ready to start working on it after vacation. Glad I found your channel. This video was very helpful and informative. Thanks!
Thanks, I needed this. My 71 Ventura 2 has cracks in the pad. I knew about the clips but not the studs. Sad tho I’ve already had the cluster out to fix the headlight switch mount, the radio wiring and I rebuilt the heater control…guess I gotta do it again. Also, a small pitch for AC Delco, I recognized your battery operated 3/8” AC Delco Chinese ratchet…I’ve got one too, it’s great, mine is two years old, bought a spare battery, but it just runs and runs. Used it in the boneyard the other day on and off for 4 hours. Never let me down. Used it two years on and off and just charged it the first time. ( Not everyday).
I ordered a dash pad for my 72 ac nova. I got non ac dash pad in a ac taped up box..Modified it to work. It turned out pretty good and maybe I came out with a stronger dash pad. A fun job since I had the steering column on and I had enlarged and reinforced it after someone had tried to peel it...The Nova column was too tough for them!!
Another great video brother! I'm about to replace my dash pad. It appears that someone punched it or hit it with somthing. Anyway thank you for the heads up that this is not a quick hr job. I'll be sure to have a hole day set aside.
Excellent video! Any tips for removing the e-brake cable from the floorboard without using a saw? That retainer that flares out and hold the cable to the floor is putting up a fight for me
Put a hose clamp on it and tighten down. Then push it through until it’s started past retainer then loosen clamp. It’s a trick to do it right but it’s ok
thank you sir. I am replacing my pad, and installing a set of autometer gauges in my custom instrument panel. One question. The clip that goes to the circuit board. If I will have my own gauges installed, speed, tach, fuel, volt, water, and oil, I will not have a place to clip that into because the aftermarket cluster is just a cut out (google autometer 69 nova instrument panel). Can I just disregard those wires? Meaning since each gauge will be wired, powered and lighted individually, that's not needed correct?
Doesn't that take a spanner rench those pretty cheap but sometimes we just don't have the time to get 1 and 2 you might just use that rench once. Anyway just throwing out an idea only.
I have a 75 Ventura that I want to replace the speaker. After viewing your video. That speaker will remain there. Lol.. After viewing this video. It's not worth the trouble. Nice how to video just the same.
You know, I don't think , With all of my you tube searches, I've ever seen a video of this procedure. Excellent video!
Thanks!
Me either, and I really needed to see this. A Haynes manual is worthless for stuff like that
I am currently working on a 1969 Nova Your videos are very helpful and easy to follow. Thank you!
Thanks for watching!!

Awesome help! It seems simple now, but I could not for the life of me figure out how to get the light switch out. You the man!
Thanks. Looking forward to your restoration techniques on dash.
Me too.

Love the channel, excellent video. Think I may lay carbon fiber over my old dash pad
That would be pretty cool!

If I’m understanding you that is correct. You could use some of the wires to power your gauge lights, fuel gauge, etc.
@@Shop209 thank u sir
What if your steering column doesn't Adjust John? 🤔
Lol
Have you made a video how to replace a heater core I have a seventy four nove
Not yet. Is it an AC car or heat only?
@@Shop209 It had AC put an aftermarket Box Box on the outside everything inside is original like an AC car.
I saw a guy who posted a video of that, he pulled his tire and inner fender off and did most of the work from the side
Do you know if the dash pad for a 68 model 2 door and 4 door car are interchangeable?
Yes. For all of 68-74 from the steering wheel to front bumper are interchangeable. Excluding windshield
Doesn't that take a spanner rench those pretty cheap but sometimes we just don't have the time to get 1 and 2 you might just use that rench once. Anyway just throwing out an idea only.
The headlight switch? Yes. I just don’t have one. Any time I need one it’s always something I’d have to order and I’m impatient. Lol.
I could use one of those electric ratchets haha save time and the hands.
