I like Gary... but with Ray or Seth Godin, he just keeps making it about himself and interrupting them... Pisses me off man! Them too I guess, Ray said "you're hyper and that's your problem" and Seth threatened to leave if he is interrupted again.
Gary is a great guy, no doubt, just should listen more to those with comparable (bigger) success and knowledge.

TM’s strengths are emotional clarity and peace, free flow thinking. As Gary V was talking, to improve that emotional control.. I would DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) and be transparent about the triggers you are wanting to mask.

Gary most likely does tune into that when he is in-action. But at the same time the fact that he can't do that while in silence IS his problem. So both Ray and Gary are right in this one when talking about themselves.

I watched this before and after learning TM. I have a totally different understand of what Ray is saying now. You can’t know unless you do it, because it’s like nothing else. You have no frame of reference of “transcendence” until you “transcend”. That’s why they call it that.

I'm a big fan of both Ray and Gary, but in this interview Gary BOMBS so hard and does everything wrong that an interviewer shouldn't. He interrupts way too many times, and he should also hold a much more open mind by listening to what Ray is saying, instead of just "yup"-ing him to death like he already knows what Rays going to say. I know that's a tough balance when he's trying to come off as high energy to us (the viewer). Despite this, I still like the video since Ray goes into some interesting detail about his meditation that he doesn't cover in other videos, so I gotta give Gary credit for putting Ray in a platform to provide such good detail on his meditation.

Actually yes you can be in that state all the time, but not by trying. TM is where you allow your mind to wander, but inward rather than aimlessly. The deepest state fo TM is a state of absolute quietude, not merely because verbalizations have shut down, but because ALL awareness - both internal and external - has shut down. To quote TM founder Maharishi Mahesh Yogi on this:
"The state of Being is one of pure consciousness, completely out of the field of relativity; there is no world of the senses or of objects, no trace of sensory activity, no trace of mental activity. There is no trinity of thinker, thinking process and thought, doer, process of doing and action; experiencer, process of experiencing and ob- ject of experience. The state of transcendental Unity of life, or pure consciousness, is com- pletely free from all trace of duality"
This is samadhi or pure consciousness, a state where the brain is not aware of internal or external stuff, but is still in an alert mode of functioning.
What happens in the brain at this point is that resting state networks, including the mind-wandering "default mode network" or DMN, start to trend towards full activation even while doing networks (the thinking/feeling/sensing/acting/remembering/emoting/etc networks) trend towards minimal activation.
This accustoms the resting networks to being active with less and less noise from the doing networks.
By alternating TM with normal activity, this lower-noise form of rest starts to become the "new normal" outside of meditation. Because the mind-wandering activity of the DMN is where we get our sense-of-self, low-noise mind-wandering is appreciated as a low-noise sense-of-self: rather than saying "I am doing" or "I am acting" or "I am desiring," long (long, long) term, the TMer starts to merely say "I am."
All those kinds of activities in the brain - thoughts, perceptions, emotions, etc - might still continue, but they are not appreciated as part of that "I am." When this low-noise DMN activity becomes stable enough, it is appreciated whether one is awake, dreaming or even during deep sleep: I am is always there. And so, one says that this is my "true self" - _atman_
This is the beginning of enlightenment, where _atman_ is always present. It doesn't arise from trying to make it happen because sense-of-self is due to mind-wandering DMN activity, and the DMN starts to go offline when you are trying to do something.
Longer-long-term, other low-noise resting state networks start to become better integrated with the low-noise DMN activity, and so one starts to appreciate that all perceptiion, all emotion, all thought, all memory, all everything-you-can-be -aware-of emerges out of that quiet I Am. This is called _aham bramasmi_ - I am the totality, and is more mature enlightenment, though of course there's always room for more growth, more silence, more integration.
A list of many of the studies that have been done on the topics of meditation, _samadhi_/pure consciousness and enlightenment can be found here: www.reddit.com/r/transcendental/comments/7djr03/a_bunch_of_research_on_tm_pure_consciousness_and/
    .
As part of the studies on enlightenment via TM, researchers found 17 subjects (average meditation, etc experience 16,000 hours) who were reporting at least having a pure sense-of-self continuously for at least a year, and asked them to "describe yourself" (see table 3 of psychological correlates study: cyber.sci-hub.tw/MTAuMTAxNi9qLmNvbmNvZy4yMDA0LjAzLjAwMQ==/10.1016%40j.concog.2004.03.001.pdf), and these were some of the responses:
    * _We ordinarily think my self as this age; this color of hair; these hobbies . . . my experience is that my Self is a lot larger than that. It's immeasurably vast. . . on a physical level. It is not just restricted to this physical environment_
    * _It's the ‘‘I am-ness.’’ It's my Being. There's just a channel underneath that's just underlying everything. It's my essence there and it just doesn't stop where I stop. . . by ‘‘I,’’ I mean this 5 ft. 2 person that moves around here and there_
    * _I look out and see this beautiful divine Intelligence. . . you could say in the sky, in the tree, but really being expressed through these things. . . and these are my Self_
    * _I experience myself as being without edges or content. . . beyond the universe. . . all-pervading, and being absolutely thrilled, absolutely delighted with every motion that my body makes. With everything that my eyes see, my ears hear, my nose smells. There's a delight in the sense that I am able to penetrate that. My consciousness, my intelligence pervades everything I see, feel and think_
    * _When I say ’’I’’ that's the Self. There's a quality that is so pervasive about the Self that I'm quite sure that the ‘‘I’’ is the same ‘‘I’’ as everyone else's ‘‘I.’’ Not in terms of what follows right after. I am tall, I am short, I am fat, I am this, I am that. But the ‘‘I’’ part. The ‘‘I am’’ part is the same ‘‘I am’’ for you and me_
    .
Dalio apparently hasn't done the required 16,000 hours of practice yet, or perhaps its taking a tiny bit longer with him (that's the average, remember), but the beginning/intermediate-state enlightenment described above is what long-term TM practice takes you towards.

I love Ray Dalio but the Masters say there are NO "meaningless words," like they teach you with TM. If you want to maximize your Meditation, like Jesus, Buddha, Krishna, Yogananda, Moses, St. Paul, Patanjali, Kabir, St. John, and all of the other 7th Level Masters, you need to UPGRADE your mantra words to tap into that Universal Power.... God. The whole PURPOSE of Meditation is to connect with God per the 7th Level Monks and Saints who first discovered Meditation and then developed it to be the scientific shortcut to Salvation and Perfection (Genesis 1:27, Matthew 5:48, Revelation 4:1). Dr. Goleman and Dr. Davidson have proven how the advanced Meditators (using the Gamma Fusion techniques), had UPGRADED their brain waves from the lower beta level, to the highest Gamma brain wave level as a permanent benefit from regular advanced meditation practice. This is huge because it PROVES how the righ advanced forms of Meditation accelerate human evolution.
The Masters say, advanced Meditation was given to man to SPEED UP the slow natural process of evolution because the mind has to EXPAND in order for you to fully express the Divinity and Perfection of your soul (Genesis 1:27, Matthew 5:48, Revelation 4:1).
Therefore, when you repeat a "meaningless word," like teach you in TM, this will never maximize your results. For example, the 7th level monks and saints, like to use the word "om" because in Christianity it's synonymous with the Holy Ghost (the Word, Hum, Amin), i.e., the "Forerunner that will lead you to remembrance."
Therefore, the RIGHT WORD(S) will always allow you to generate some REAL POWER with your mind, subconscious, and superconscious, by using the more advanced forms of Meditation (4D Meditation, 4D Calibration, 4D Concentration, and St. Paul Meditation techniques).
