Regarding Awich - she is the Queen of J-hiphop. A few days ago in one of Awich's lives, the XG rap line made a surprise appearance and performed Woke Up w/ Awich's verse from the remix. Pls do check that out! Awich has been in the scene since 2000 (underground scene), so she's a straight-up legend among the female Japanese rappers. She hailed from Okinawa, discovered hiphop as a child (thanks to the U.S. military bases in her hometown), she idolized Tupac. She moved to Atlanta for college, met and married a man from the "wrong side of town", and had a daughter. Unfortunately, her husband died. She and her daughter moved back to Okinawa, then started her career and the rest is history. He was born in Tokyo, grew up in Mexico City, moved back to Tokyo. He adds a little bit of the Latin Flavor in some of his tracks, like what you heard from this remix, for example. OZWorld is the youngest of the lineup (born in 1997). Also from Okinawa like Awich (and XG Cocona), he is known for being a proud native Okinawan (the "dragons on my skin" line refers to his dragon tattoos that represent his Okinawan heritage), and his tracks has that Okinawan vibe that can sound like he is meditating or telling an ancient folk tale in song and chanting. Okinawa is one of japans island that were hit during the war with America, even mainland has trouble understanding their accent. Okinawa have a lot of love for hip hop and rap❤🎉

Also, yeah shoutout to the Japanese rappers. Ozworld im pretty sure uses traditional language I believe. Overall yeah a lot of talented Japanese rappers

He's obviously also put people on, and elevated Korean Hip hop's popularity in a way that I feel nobody else has so still kinda works. My knowledge of Japanese hip hop is limited to a few names like Zebra and Chanmina but I like a lot of what I've heard.
If you were referring to "Rasen in Okinawa," OZWorld was rapping in Okinawan (native language completely different from Japanese). But most of his tracks are mixed modern Japanese and English.
