Your dedication to documenting all of this is so appreciated. Awesome solar panel mount design, they're easily interchanged if one of them ever breaks. Awesome!
@@DaresDrives what is the urethane specified for hold strength? I feel like a bolted connection is "secure" in the sense that it is physical. The urtehane is chemical. I am sure it is as strong or stronger, just wondering
ddut887 according to the MSDS it has a tensile strength of 1000psi meaning the plastic would break well before the urethane would release. This is the same product Betaseal Xpress 30 that used to hold the rear windows in place. Thanks for watching, hope I answered your question! As well no bolts means absolutely zero chance of leaks!!
It’s solar time Peeps! Jeff nailed it! Moving forward to another great job and video!😁 see you next Sunday ✌️ I appreciate all your efforts in providing great content and fun to watch 😎🌺☀️
Dimity Long thank you for watching and commenting every week!! ⭐️ I love the video making and It feels amazing to know others do enjoy watching it as well!!
Thanks for sharing the great video. I’ve just bought the same mounting brackets & I’ve got my solar panel ready to go. Can you please let me know what adhesive you used? I’m looking for the same. Cheers 👍
Great idea on the Glue, I did see you used Urethane (more like a Silicone rubber, than a glue) - cool beans, I thought you might of 3D printed those brackets
I love the no drill idea but don't you still need to cut a hole for wires etc and mounting the panels down before that part seems odd? I mean with the lock tight on the bolts how will this happen
I'm in the process of building out a box truck. Your videos have been helpful. Question, its been 4 years, how well have your solor panels stayed in place?
What happens down the road if you have to replace a solar panel and that particular outside dimensions not available anymore . as in the overall outside Dimension is larger what do you do then ? - It seems to me that you have no room to adjust whatsoever for panel size.
your idea? - those brackets were widely available with panels many years ago. Many people used windshield bound to stick them - not your idea bro - sorry
Tom J Designs brackets are widely available and found on Amazon yup!! Cutting them to fit properly on the roof, definitely my idea. Thanks for watching.
hey m8 great work and already subscibed but can you post a link to that white covering kit , love that ;-) but cant find the right one , thanks in advance
I just found your channel. Great work. I'm planning on doing the same roof setup (400W of solar & 2 fans) What is the size of your van? is it the 170 or the 170 extended? My build will be on a 3500 170WB DRW
Stan Sitnik I found them in the marine section on amazon, made by Eco-worthy. I have attached the amazon link below. ECO-WORTHY Solar Panel Four... www.amazon.ca/dp/B01MQF8BL1?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
@@DaresDrives thx for the info!!! awesome vid! love the dedication haha. not sure if this is an affiliate link but if its not maybe get that setup for yourself and put link in the video description.....and get yourself a bit of $$?
600U thanks for watching. It is not an affiliated link and I appreciate the idea. One day I will go that route but right now just trying to get better at recording, editing and hopefully deliver some value to my peeps that watch!!
David Hall it is the exact same product I put on the windows to hold them down. If the panels fly off that means my windows are going to do the same thing!!! 😬. Yes I trust this 100%!!
This is the slickest installation I've seen. Nice job.
Your dedication to documenting all of this is so appreciated. Awesome solar panel mount design, they're easily interchanged if one of them ever breaks. Awesome!
Kurtis Wagner thanks, it’s a lot of work but I do enjoy it. Yes, panels are easily removed if needed!!

Watching your videos is equal parts educational and entertaining. Love what you're doing! Thank you for you man
Just watched this video today !
Neat project !
Well, I'm inspired by this way of doing things! Well done sir!
Outstanding job. From one of your peeps!
That is beautiful. I already had to make one hole in the roof for the vent, but I absolutely do not want to make more holes, and this is spot on!
So this is a great video and idea.. going into our saved Van build series for our Dream promaster (next van)
Excellent, glad you enjoyed!! Thank you for watching.
Wow, dedicated!! Thanks for sharing and great idea!
Dan Biggie awesome, thanks for watching!!
Thank you so much for your work!!!
I'm enjoying your van build. Hope more discover your channel.
Thank you.
I am getting a roof rack, but prefer my solar panels to be very low profile for stealth, then be able to mount items on top of my rack.
Very klever to use urethane instead of any bolt or screws! Nice & clean. Congrats!
Perfect, glad you enjoyed. Thank you for watching and commenting.
You can 3d print these Solar Panel mounts... As well as a StarLink antenna mount

Thanks for sharing the great video.

Cheers 👍
I purchased a full kit from AM Solar, used the 3m pro adhesive strips included and put sealant over it, done.
Good job
Thank you again, hope you are enjoying!!
Good idea for the summer time, but bad idea for the winter time.
Great idea on the Glue, I did see you used Urethane (more like a Silicone rubber, than a glue) - cool beans, I thought you might of 3D printed those brackets
is this any difference than gluing the panels straight on the roof?
I love the no drill idea but don't you still need to cut a hole for wires etc and mounting the panels down before that part seems odd? I mean with the lock tight on the bolts how will this happen

Haven’t moved at all. Adhered with the same product that holds our windows in.
Why not use all the mounts?. i.e. the side brackets, for added adhesion insurance. THX
Do you have links to the items you bought for this project?
Great idea. I don't understand why you didn't use white urethane?
I am ready to apply solar panels. I am just wondering how these are holding up?
Nice
Arthur Quinn thanks, excited to use them!!
Where did you put the wires for the solar?
Thanks for the video! However, I feel sorry for the tires on your van! That can't be good for them.
Didn't you wire panels in series?
good x 10
Thank you!!!
Did I miss why you decided to go with the square box rather than the original entry gland?
I don't understand why you didn't use white urethane ?

At least he doesnt have 20 holes he needs to plug up that can leak.
hey where did you get that wonky ladder from?
How's this holding up?
What size screws did you use.?

So you're spending over 100k on your van but 10 dollars on your ladder......WHAAAT
To much goofing around. My time is valuable.
