***I hope this gets top posted*** I would call the Robin color Turquoise. At first glance it looks blue like a robin's egg blue. But it has a tad more green in it. Upon looking at a color chart I think it looks turquoise. Hope this helps. It ain't mint green, that's for sure. I guess you could call it minty ice cream green. But it's like it had a splash of blue food coloring to go along with the green lol

+nr3rful This is the new standard for Europe, it's because everybody already got 10 USB chargers from old phones.
+nr3rful It's to reduce waste (and "price"), as most people already have a brick laying around, if not then just buy one. You can also just use your computer's usb port if necessary.

I've been very excited for this phone for a while. I can't wait to see your review on it!
I personally am getting a bit annoyed with tech youtubers, not necessarily selling out but being "contacted" to review the nextbit robin. They make out as if it is this amazing phone that is the best phone one could possibly get and is completely innovational, dont think i dont think that it is not as it is one of the first phones to fully use the cloud and take advantage of its advantages. Yet contradictory to that, unless your phone is the 16 GB iphone 6/6s then you are often running out of space and i doubt that i would need to use the feature much. And the annoying thing on how if you needed to use an app you havent used in a while you have to wait ten seconds for it to reinstall, which in my case i would find that more hindering than helping me. The design is something fresh but so is the S6 edge or new oppo phone with out the bezzle, the colours are nice but it is not the spectacular design people are making it out to be. The specs and internals are good as well and probably runs very smoothly, yet to me this is just an android phone with a sleek skin on it, with a fancy individual feature and with a bit of a different design and a very good marketing campaign running up to the launch
And you seem like someone who complains for unnecessary reasons. Do you really think that tech press buy every item themselves? You've got to be joking. We talk about what is trending. When something new comes out we are lucky to receive whatever that item is to talk about. We do it because we are interested and because we want to. The buzz behind this phone is who put it together, the fact it will get constant support, great specs for a decent price, being able to root and install whatever we want without voiding the warranty. And to boot there is a different implementation to storage with this phone. Seems pretty cool to me.
You better hide for next week. MWC is all about being contacted to attend an event to talk about what is new.
+Erica Griffin I dont normally complain about things and rarely even comment on youtube videos, unless it is a type of video who requires input from their fans to talk about on the show, but this is just what im thinking and i didnt choose to pick on you personally you were just the person who really made me think this. If you are not interested or would not choose personally to review the item or even if you would then you should talk about what it really is, something fresh with a flashy new feature, and you should show other phones that could compete with it, such as the one plus two which is a lot cheaper and in my view is slightly better with a (yet again in my view) better design. and being able to root it is something you could do to nearly all android phones, to a phone much cheaper than this one. and final note: telling me to "hide" seems a tad agressive

This is such a shitty phone. Here are why.1. Most people are on limited data plans. They cannot constantly upload and download stuff on their mobile data. I get that wifi are available, but do you really want to look around for available wifis all the time?2. 100GB cloud storage is great, but there are already established cloud services such as Onedrive, Google Drive, and Box that offer deeper integration with desktops and other tablets. Why would you switch to a cloud service with a less integration?3. You could already get a 128gb micro sd for $40, and have the storage available locally. No waiting time for upload and download, no mobile data cost, no mobile coverage needed.

your points are ok but they arent enough to tell someone they shouldnt get this phone. first off saying that people with limited data are going to have trouble is partiality correct. for instance, you can turn the feature off so that you can only upload stuff to the cloud over wifi and downloading something on this phone would be no different then any onther phone. second, you said there are other could drives like one drive and google drive(I think thats what google calls it) but those drives dont save app information(as far as I know). last you said they could just buy an sd card that has like 250 gb( dont remember what you said but I know it is in the 200's) but some phones have a cap at how much a sd card can hold. for instance my phone only lets me use a sd card that has 64 gb. which sounds ok but that also doesnt same my app information (again, as far as i know)and some people may not take pictures or watch movies on their phones so that would make the sd card useless. plus you said the sd card was 40 dollar, which I guess is a good price, but if you pay just 100 more on amazon then you get a full phone with some preaty good specs.

Looks pretty cool, a smarter cloud implementation that I didn't really care to know about until you explain it to me in this video. Except when a phone is only available only from their website, personally for me, it usually means I have to pay the expensive shipping and import tax if I were to order one, which is why I never even bothered to do.

I absolutely love the concept of the Robin, my only beef is that I'm a high media consumer and would love to see an SD tray, other than that I love the phone!

I agree with you that smartphones are getting boring these days. When I just remember how it was 2004, 5, 6, 7.. one had choice between so many different form factors, colours, sizes... and the companies like Nextbit are breeding in some fresh air in the market. I mean, it's obvious that you cannot change that much on a phone these days, it has to be some form of a brick with big screen... :)

I always love my black Android phones but I really like that color for a phone...VERY DIFFERENT...LOVE IT
Im just not sure how the cloud feature will be that relevant most. Alot of phones now days have entry level 32gb plus storage with some sporting sd card storage. I use google photos to store my photos although i dont do much video its sufficient. I dont really worry too much about storage, i install what i need. If your the type that can utilize the 100gb cloud service this phone will be a nice addition. Im using the iphone 6s plus the last android phone i used was the S6.
The 5.2" 1080p screen is a deal killer for me. I love big 6" quad HD screens.

I personally believe (not from South Carolina) that the Nextbit Robin has an awesome looking design and the software doesn't look half bad having a material design minimalist looking software with its cool nifty cloud storage feature ala Titanium for 'eternity' . And its great for the price. I would've preferred an 808 with DDR4 RAM but looks nice and I would see people picking this over the Nexus 5x especially with its more RAM

I have the Sony Xperia z5 and it reminds me a lot of that. The styling and where the finger print scanner is. I like the idea though. You basically have unlimited storage

I'd use it. As long as the camera is good. I like the mint color, but I'd prefer a shade of soft blue to match the gray.

I hope the "electric" color scheme comes to non-kickstater backers. I think thats the best color combo. The mint is really bold, but I prefer something a little more subtle.

I like that they're breaking away from the standard features that phones all seem to have these days. You're right in saying that phone releases are a little boring these days.
The only thing I'm concerned about is the cloud storage provider. Have they teamed up with one of the big players or is it their own server? I get a little cautious when you have to rely on something for a long time by a small company.
Hey Erica, what mic do you use? Noticed now after coming from a different tech channel's video, the positioning and gain makes your speech sound super natural. Almost gave me a fright, sounded like someone was sitting next to me and talking. Awesome :)

I like it I wish the the black lines where not there or at least a bit thinner and for a guy not overly keen on the colour but that's easy enough to sort out if other colours are not available but overall I like it from what I see.

Cool idea, but I don't like the idea of depending on an external cloud stoarge service, plus you don't always have acces to a network (at least where I live). By the way, good video Erica.
